Well, now you can build you own custom pistol in the same vein -- and you get to avoid those high price tags. Grab a handgun build kit for the GLOCK® or 1911, available in a plethora of calibers and series.
It's a gun kit containing all the components you need to assemble a custom pistol piece by piece, except for the frame itself. The frame is usually the part of a handgun that's considered the firearm, so it isn't included with these kits. The advantage of grabbing a kit like this is two-fold: First, you become an expert in how your pistol's put together, providing knowledge for maintenance and troubleshooting.
But more importantly, you get to put your pistol together, carefully polishing and assembling each piece to your liking. With various handgun build kits available in different configurations and calibers, there's a kit available to suit your needs and budget.
Whether you buy a GLOCK or 1911 kit, you'll get all the internals required for assembling your frame. If purchasing a GLOCK kit, some components -- like the locking block rail and rear rail module -- are included with the frame you purchase (sold separately) so those aren't included with your kit.
You'll also receive all the pins, springs, and detents for assembly. Each kit includes a slide, barrel, and the components necessary for assembling the slide.
