Essential EJ record. 60 Years On simply stunning. Nigel and Dee so powerful here I wonder why they were rarely able to capture this energy on all the studio albums to come. Can I Put You On foreshadows S2 of Madman, and the highlight is the extended BDTM jam with shout outs to Elvis and the Beatles. How cool is that.

Contrary to the other reviews, I'm not bothered by Gus Dudgeon's additional effects. Maybe it's because I'm not familiar with the original mix? This probably one of the most magical moments of power trio ever committed to disc. Can you even believe there are no guitars on this? The closest Elton has gotten to this dynamic ever since is on The Diving Board.

Stereo 8 is a format, as such, it should not be used as a label.

Amazing record. Live, small audience, quiet, great dynamics and most importantly, he kills it!

It's nothing short of pure fascination how Elton John overexerted himself during this performance. He not only had a lot of fun himself playing but he also mesmerized every listener with his joyful playing style. In my opinion this recording contains the best version of 'sixty years on'. Too bad it was never captured on video. What a sight it must have been.

Yes it was lovely to see Elton trying to hold his trousers up at Glastonbury this year, but let’s be honest this is where the real action is. A youngish Elton whose career is about to lift off is on fire on this performance with just drums and bass to back him. Absolutely fantastic and the recording quality is very very good too.

Horrible mix of a fantastic album. Some of Elton's vocals are edited out. Plus his vocal during Burn Down the Mission has a unnatural echo. Stay away

Solid pressing quality, nice and quiet. Doubt it is Pallas but more likely Optimal.

I think the mastering is overly bass heavy compared to the digital versions I’ve heard. It’s somewhat overpowering. However, it’s still pretty good sounding. I have not heard an original pressing.

A nice bonus is that the download card yields WAV files rather than the mp3s you usually get with those cards. Kudos to the team on that choice.

Thank God this got reissued and with the extra tracks. The UK remastered cd was a disaster with some of Elton's vocals taken out and the horrible echo towards the end of Burn Down the Mission (best version ever) the sound on this is good enough for me. Love the old Elton John albums. He is the best and most successful British artist in history
