Gusty winds will develop later today across much of southeast CA, followed by widespread breezy to windy conditions across the region on Sunday. Wind Advisories have been issued for much of Imperial County and Joshua Tree National Park from 3 PM PDT/MST this afternoon into Sunday as gusts are expected to meet or exceed 40 mph. Patchy blowing dust can be expected with the stronger winds, particularly across Imperial County.

High temperatures will be around 3-5 degrees above normal today, resulting in a widespread Minor HeatRisk. Make sure to drink plenty of water and limit outdoor activities during the hottest times of the day. Temperatures cool tomorrow as a dry weather system passes to the north of the region, so only limited coverage of Minor HeatRisk is expected across the lower deserts with highs generally in the upper 70s to mid 80s.
