英国留学读研有什么要求，需要多少费用?

有一点就是千万别信留学中介的择校建议。

我一个剑桥的同学一开始被爸妈忽悠，通过中介申请英国学校，中介一口认定他应该主申格拉斯哥大学，冲爱丁堡大学，用阿伯丁大学保底。然后一个劲地劝他父母按照这个计划执行。

他自己想申请剑桥和帝国理工，中介说他肯定没戏，不愿意花那个时间。

他自己申了。

后来就不用说了。

这种例子我听说无数，所以建议不要信中介的选校建议。自己把想去的都申请一下。

硕士毕业于英国剑桥大学，当时DIY申请英国研究生，获得剑桥、帝国理工、伦敦政经（LSE)、伦敦大学学院（UCL)等名校商学院的offer。

我会按照我的经验来详细回答英国读研相关的申请要求，然后申请可能会用到的费用，以及不同留学地区所可能会用到的费用。

一、［写在前面的话］为什么我墙裂安利去英国留学读研？

1. 我在英国交换、剑桥读研的经历，让我深深地爱上了英国的学术氛围和文化，如果对剑桥的学习生活经历感兴趣的小伙伴，可以看我之前的回答：

2.从最接地气的薪资数据上来看：海归的平均薪资比同等学历的本土人才高18%左右。

根据英国泰晤士报的大学生离校6个月后的平均收入排行榜统计，其中

伦敦帝国理工地理专业毕业生起薪为73267英镑（约合65万元人民币）；
伦敦经济学院法律专业起薪为68933英镑（61万元人民币）；
剑桥大学电脑专业 £42,756（38万元人民币）；
帝国理工电子与电子工程专业 £40,511（36万人民币）；
牛津大学商务专业 £40,073（36万人民币）。

MBA的起薪更高，比如剑桥大学Judge管理学院毕业生起薪：144,350美元(约87万人民币), 毕业生薪资涨幅：92%，

3.从学校排名来看，去英国留学是逆袭的最佳机会

比如我，本科是个知名度不高的双非学校，研究生的剑桥就是世界排名数一数二的顶尖学校。

就算是国内最顶级的清华北大，2018 Times世界排名也只有30，而清华大学的硕士，都说硕士里最难考的工商管理硕士学位，2013-2016年，清华大学商学院，5年就生产了将近5000人，现在每年还要招收将近600人。

国外生源把控更严，我读的剑桥大学的组织创新战略硕士，平均每年全球招生10-20人，甚至2018年只招8人，想必是物以稀为贵吧。

所以，去英国留学是提高文凭含金量、提高世界学校排名的捷径。

我之所以说是捷径，还因为英国留学学制时间短，国内读研大多数3年，而英国只需要一年，时间成本低了2/3，毕竟对于人才来说，时间永远是稀缺资源，节省了2年时间，就相当于可以多工作2年，这2年的机会成本，至少值40-80万。


二、英国留学读研有什么要求？


首先要想好申请哪些学校和专业。

专业的选择建议考虑和本科专业对口或者相关的（当然有些硕士的管理只收非商科的学生）和兴趣爱好。

至于选哪个学校，可以根据自己的分数和专业要求进行定位，下文马上会详细地分析成绩对应的学校和专业要求。

如果是DIY申请，建议可以用一张Excel表，列出比较有意向的学校和专业，标注专业要求、官网链接等，方便之后进行筛选。当然，最重要的是要列好申请材料清单哦。


一般情况，申请英国研究生需要的材料：

大一到大三的英文成绩单 扫描件（有些学校会要求评分标准、在读证明）；
个人陈述（PS)
学术推荐信
扫描件2封（由你的2个老师提供）
简历
网申表（有些学校有类似于PS的开放性问题，比如剑桥、帝国理工）
护照
扫描件
雅思成绩单
扫描件 GMAT/GRE 成绩单（部分商科专业需要）


下面分点来说说影响录取与否最核心的几个考察点：

  1. 本科绩点／GPA／均分。

留学读研首先要根据自己的本科院校、均分选好目标学校和专业，英国G5学校偏爱学校排名靠前、成绩好的同学，不同专业有不同的录取标准，如果你的本科专业和硕士专业对口，那么成功申请的可能性会比跨专业申请更高。一般情况下，G5大多数专业要求至少要2:1学位（牛剑大部分学校要1等学位）。


2:1或者1等学位是什么意思呢？


以下表格真对不同本科学校给出大体的均分对应关系，当然不同学校对于2:1的界定略有不同，具体参照本科学校或者英国目标学校的官方定义为准。


简单来说，如果你是211学校，到了大三均分80+就有资格申请G5，当然如果均分85＋甚至90+，那么，还是很有可能得到G5学校的青睐哦。

如果你是非211的学校，那么英国对你的均分要求会更高，总之，英国很看重成绩，就像我们总不免会落入俗套地对好看的面庞一见钟情一样，你的成绩越好，就越容易成为名校的宠儿。



2.申请文书和推荐信。

如果说，大三下出成绩后，成绩已成定局，就像爸妈给我生了一张适合居家的脸，那么我还能出去吓人吗？

答案是，或许真的可以。

申请英国研究生，还需要很重要的材料就是申请文书，包括个人陈述、简历、2封老师的推荐信。


其中你能把握的最重要的文书之一就是个人陈述，也就是我们常说的PS，这就类似于你写给女神校的飞鸽传书／情书，说明你为什么想去、为什么能去这个学校、专业，如果你的文书写得足够得打动招生官，体现你就是为这个专业量身打造的那个Ta，那么招生官也会在你没有达到成绩的前提下发你一个conditional offer，condition一般是最后一年的成绩。


比如，之前帮一个学妹申请，她是英国莱斯特大学的本科（英本三年），大二均分58（妥妥的2:2）, 但在PS中挖掘出自己的亮点和优势，在文书中写了大量对于专业的理解和认识，提高和专业的匹配度，收到伯明翰大学金融专业的offer，卡斯商学院金融专业的offer，condition是大三之后均分能达到65。


所以，我们申请的时候，国内大学的话，一般只能提交大一到大三的成绩（英本的是大一大二成绩），如果这时候成绩没达到学校要求的2:1也不要气馁，学校会根据你的文书来判断你的潜力，如果学校觉得你有潜力，还是会发offer的哟～


PS一定要反复修改。我当时是DIY申请，每所学校每个专业的PS都是不一样的，是根据每个专业量身打造的。也很庆幸当时有好多热心的学长学姐帮我修改PS。就拿我申请剑桥的这个专业举例，我特地请了剑桥这个专业的直系学姐修改我的PS, 也请了伦敦商学院、爱丁堡大学毕业的学长学姐反复修改，一篇1000字不到的材料，我至少找了3-4位学长学姐反复修改了7次，我的英国老师／推荐人也很热心地主动说帮我修改润色。


所以，我很愿意将这份爱心传递下去如果有学弟学妹们对中介文书不满意，或者自己DIY无从下手的时候，都可以找我修改文书，我希望能尽一份微薄之力帮助到大家。


除了PS，还有很重要的文书就是推荐信。推荐信是需要你提前找好2位推荐人，和他们说好你想申请的学校和专业，请他们美言几句，推荐你去这个学校。


选推荐人最好优先选熟悉你的，或者头衔高的，当然两者兼得是最好。我当时大三去英国交换，萌生了想去英国读研的想法，于是乎，我就“很有心机”地去我们学校官网搜，看看有没有老师对剑桥有一定的了解，结果正巧一位教我金融专业课的英国教授之前在剑桥教书！喜出望外如我，就发邮件给这个教授，和他预约时间面谈。


面谈的时候，我先说了自己对于他教的金融的喜爱，“顺便”提到说我想申请剑桥的研究生，并自然地把我的情况和教授说了。这些都是铺垫哦，注意，学弟学妹们，不要一见到老师，人家还不知道你是谁，就开门见山地问能不能当你的推荐人；就好比，你心仪的男神／女神和你还不熟的时候，你就一股脑儿地上前表白，男神／女神会被吓到的。当你们的互动慢慢频繁、你们之间的“感情”慢慢升温，那么导师会有更大的概率愿意作为你的推荐人。


回到我的故事，我和教授从天南聊到地北，他甚至拿出手机给我看他儿子女儿的照片，就像熟识的好朋友一样。最后，我终于想鼓起勇气问能不能当我的推荐人，没想到教授自己主动说：“如果你要申请剑桥的话，我可以给你写推荐信，我每年都会给我们学校的1-2个同学写推荐信，他们大多数都被剑桥录取了。我在剑桥的Pembroke College，如果你到时候也被Pembroke College录取了，那我就请你吃饭；如果你被其他college录取了，那么我来你的college，你请我吃饭。”


当时真是有种受宠若惊的激动，就有种 终于鼓起勇气向男神表白，结果男神主动说，我来保护你 的即视感（不好意思小姐姐有点小花痴，总是用男神来类比，捂脸）。

同样的，我大三交换的时候，有一门课Business Strategy考了年级前5，结果任课老师（法国人）发邮件恭喜我们名列前茅的几位同学，我私信感谢他，他也主动说，如果需要他作为推荐人，他很乐意。不过我还是没有请他当推荐人，因为我和另外一位一起做研究的导师也很熟，而且专业方向和我要申请的剑桥专业很匹配，所以请了这位研究导师作为推荐人。


如果你找的推荐人是国外的English native speaker，那么大概率他们会根据对你的了解自己亲笔为你写推荐信。所以这里就是找熟识的老师的重要性。如果老师了解你，写出来的内容比较有血有肉又个性，不至于千篇一律像模版。


还有一个好处就是，和你熟识的国外老师很可能会和你讨论推荐信的内容或者把写好的推荐信给你看。理论上，推荐信是老师写好，不给学生看的，但因为我和我的两位推荐人都很熟，所以他们都是把推荐信写好发我看然后才投递。


对于大部分国内本科的同学来说，大部分是找好推荐人导师，学生自己写好推荐信的内容，导师过目签字。如果你的导师认可这种方式，那也行，只不过在写推荐信的时候一定要站在老师的角度，用老师的格局和口吻来写，不要让招生官看出PS和推荐信是同个人写的。



3.雅思成绩。

官网上都会写这个专业对雅思的要求，大多数学校雅思要求6.5分甚至7分以上，不过大多数英国学校，在投递申请的时候，是不用提交雅思成绩的，或者如果你申请的时候雅思没有达标，先提交都是没关系的。


如果你的背景吸引了招生官，但雅思没达标，学校依然会发你一个conditional offer，收到offer之后，在学校指定的deadline之前补交达标的雅思＋达标的在校成绩，学校会再发unconditional offer。


比如说，学校要求雅思总分7，单科不低于6.5，而你总分达到了，单科差了0.5，那么你可以大胆地提交这个不合格的雅思成绩没关系；当然，如果你第一次考雅思，考得实在惨不忍睹，比如总分5分，单科4.5，那么我建议还是先不要提交雅思成绩，你可以扬长但也要避短，你不提交雅思成绩，学校会以为你只是没时间考，说不定一考就考到目标分呢，所以如果英语实在是你的短板，那么不妨先不提交雅思，给学校更多的遐想空间和期待。


另外，雅思只是门槛，达到学校的要求就好，不需要为了证明自己刷分刷到8，像牛津剑桥已经是对雅思要求最高的学校了，它的要求也只是雅思总分7.5，单科7分，所以如果你已经达到了，那就不需要再花时间去刷更多的分数了。


而在校成绩倒是越高越有优势，文书也是越出彩越有优势。当然，如果背景一模一样都很出类拔萃、和专业匹配的两个学生，一个雅思6分，一个雅思8分，那么学校会更倾向于雅思8分的学生没错，但也很可能学校会给两个学生都发offer，只不过雅思8分的学生conditional offer里就没有语言要求，而雅思6分的学生的conditional offer里会加一个雅思的condition，如果最后这个雅思6分的学生没能达到学校雅思目标分，那么这半只脚踏入校门，还有半只脚也只能留在门外了。


有部分学校也有语言班，如果你申请的学校、专业能接受你没达到雅思要求读语言班，那也可以。之前有学生拿到剑桥的conditional offer，要求雅思总分7.5，单科7，但是他有一门口语／写作总是卡在6.5，而他的专业不允许他读语言班，最终去不了剑桥，只能去了帝国理工，这样的擦肩而过也是挺可惜的。

总而言之，雅思在申请的时候，对于拿到conditional offer来说影响不是特别大，但对于换unconditional offer来说，非常关键。在拿到unconditional offer之后，你就可以开开心心地准备签证啦～



三、大学四年的时间规划

因此，在说了申请英国的几点要求外，我们可以根据这个来看看你大学四年需要做哪些准备。


大一、大二：学术＋参加社团活动、比赛，也可以提前准备雅思。我当时大一、大二参加了创行、校友会、ACCA俱乐部、埃塞克、模拟联合国协会、口才与演讲协会等8个社团干事，也参加了CFA协会举办的IRC金融比赛、哈佛大学举办的社会企业创业大赛。


大三：好好学术，大三的专业课成绩对于申请尤其重要。另外，尽可能地多参加和申请专业相关的实习、帮老师做一些相关的研究。我当时的实习有银行、中外合资企业的财务部门、保险等实习，也帮助老师做了和创新战略相关的研究。大三考雅思也是不错的时期。当然，如果商科需要考GMAT/GRE，这时候都要着手准备了，这比雅思难度更大。


申请一般在大三的时候就要开始准备，大三暑假准备申请材料，大四上的时候投递申请。很多学弟学妹问我，申请是找中介还是DIY呢？因为我自己申请的时候被突然失踪的中介坑了，所以下定决心DIY，我个人还是比较推荐DIY的，只不过也不是人人都适合DIY，那我顺便来说说


哪些同学适合DIY：

1.有一定的英语写作基础，雅思写作7分以上
2.有学长学姐的指点，了解DIY的流程和需要写的文书内容和方向
3.有学长学姐／外教能帮忙修改文书
4.有足够的时间来DIY，比如雅思、GMAT/GRE考试都已经考好，没有后顾之忧，能在大四上同时handle申请投递、学术、实习、考试等
5.有足够的自制力和时间规划能力，能尽早地投递申请，毕竟英国的申请是rolling basis，早申请的材料早审核，如果符合专业要求，就会早发offer，所以尽早申请还是有一定优势的。

不过话说回来，欲速则不达，如果你为了赶着早申请，忽略了质量，还是得不偿失的，毕竟，早申请如果不符合条件，也只是早点收到拒信而已。

之前又帮学妹在当年的2-3月申请剑桥，结果投递申请之后10天就收到offer了，所以说，不用慌，一切皆有可能，在准备好的前提下，尽早地申请。

如果实在是没时间，或者对DIY申请流程不熟悉，担心出错，那么建议可以找有DIY申请经验的学长学姐帮忙指导文书、指导申请，最好能有外教润色修改，但是个人不建议找大的中介机构，很多学弟学妹找了中介之后都吐槽说中介拖延、办事效率低、文书模版化套路化，还是拿着中介写的文书找我修改，真是心疼学弟学妹们。就像“男怕入错行，女怕嫁错郎”，留学申请是一生一次的大事，一定要慎重选择哦～


四、英国留学需要多少费用

不同学校和专业的学费不一样，一般金融、会计等热门专业的学费会更高一些，而偏社科类的学费会低一些。一般学费在人民币20-40万不等。具体的学费可以在每个专业的学校官网Fees一栏找到。比如下图是剑桥Finance and Economics专业的学费。


生活费也根据不同的地区略有不同，伦敦比较贵，根据UK’s National Union of Students (NUS)的官方数据，在英格兰地区（除伦敦之外）的学生，年均生活费是£12,056（10万人民币），如果在伦敦上学生活，同样的日用品和食物，每年的花费大约£15,180（13.5万人民币）。

给大家一个参考，我当时在剑桥读研，一年学费＋生活费40万人民币左右。
