Adding to my blues harp collection with this James Cotton album, a harp player who stepped into Little Walter's slot as Muddy Waters' harp man in 1954 and for 12 long years remained with Muddy. James learnt to play harp from one of my favourite harp players, Sonny Boy Williamson. But James Cotton can sing as well as blow harp as he does on 100% Cotton, with a gritty blues voice, a fine blues album with some impressive harp solos. There is a great rendition of the song 'Fever' on this album, and no weak tracks.

played very loud, this is one of my favourite albums from university days. Saw them tour with Johnny Winter a couple of times and once with Steve Miller. Great stage presence.
