Sitting between glorious Royal Parkland and the buzz of central Knightsbridge, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London is re-imagined and re-invented, offering the essence of timeless heritage coupled with contemporary flair and impeccable service. As part of the most-extensive multi-million-pound restoration in the hotel's history, internationally-renowned designer Joyce Wang, oversaw the new design of all the rooms, suites and public areas, inspired by the natural beauty of neighbouring Hyde Park and the glamour of the 20th century Golden Age of travel. The stunning re-imagining of The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, London along with the hotel's destination restaurants and Mandarin Bar, were directed by esteemed New York designer Adam D Tihany.

Nestled in one of London's most prestigious areas, the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park stands out for its luxurious rooms and commendable cleanliness, with guests often acknowledging the meticulous maintenance. While the elegant atmosphere and personalized service are highlights, some guests have experienced issues with soundproofing and service consistency. The hotel's prime location is a boon for those looking to explore the city's iconic landmarks. Despite mixed opinions on value, the quality amenities, including the spa and dining options, are frequently celebrated by visitors.

My recent stay at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park before the lockdown has demonstrated the hotel's excellence in moments of unease. Ms Hyndman (GM) and Mme Lallemand (HM), consummate hoteliers, maintained heightened vigilance well before others in London. During my stay, staff were seen diligently sanitizing touch surfaces at very frequent intervals. While working in my room one morning, I had witnessed how my housekeeper (Teresa) carefully disinfected all surfaces in my room. These actions by the team highlighted the rigorous attention to detail instilled by the leadership.

Health and safety aside, I had a most excellent stay thanks in part to the exceptional service by several members of staff. At arrival, I was warmly welcomed by Jade (front office) who escorted me to my room with luggage already on racks as I entered. She was very proactive and I very much appreciated her kindness. Breakfast inside the sunlit dining room of Dinner by Heston was a tranquil start to the day before tackling the bustle of the City. Mr Jordan and his team had provided very attentive service. With special thanks to Johannes who remembered my preferences. At Bar Boulud, bartender Guglielmo provided excellent service when I dined there twice during my stay. On my second visit, he recognized me immediately and even concocted a few bespoke cocktails for my friend and I.

As the above have demonstrated, the Mandarin in London rises above other top hotels in the capital. It will be my hotel of choice when travel resumes in the future.

A significant room upgrade from that which was booked on arrival and a welcoming bottle of Champagne, flowers and fruit together with a coterie of some of the nicest staff you'll meet in any London 5 Star. The MO opened when many, the Lanesborough, to name but one, chose to take and cancel reservations with an ever moving reopening schedule. Our visit was arranged by Centurion Fine Hotels & Resorts program so we were provided with a Hyde Park Suite with a balcony and a marvelous view of Hyde Park and Rotten Row. The Hotel was not fully staffed and Bar Bouloud was closed, the Hotel's actual Bar opened the day we arrived, nevertheless service was exemplary and great care was taken over distancing, cleaning and the manner in which staff offered service with masks requested for guests when moving around the hotel and a requirement for staff at all times. The MO was,at all times, very careful and mindful of our health. Room service and the Rosebery Restaurant rose to every challenge as did Concierge ably assisted by the Front Desk. MO have succeeded in persuading us to change our longstanding allegiance from the Lanesborough and we long to return to experience the hotel in less Covid-19 times. Finally: Praise to the Door Staff who dealt with a disproportionate amount of luggage on arrival and additional shopping bags with equanimity. Well done Gentlemen.

Firstly, the location of the hotel is great, in Knightsbridge right along Hyde Park. I cannot say enough good things about the hotel staff, who went out of their way to help me get a different room. My first room felt so claustrophobic, with 2 tiny windows which faced a dark alley/courtyard. The windows had very thick drapes, which made it difficult to open for even a little bit of light. Thankfully, they were able to move me to a larger room which felt less constricting and by comparison, it was so much better than the first.

There were quite a number of pros.

1. All the usual amenities, plus some extra (toothbrush), nespresso and tea making facilities, blow dryer AND straightening iron, extra goodies with turndown (chocolate, hand cream)
2. USB ports at each side of bed
3. Great location

However, because there seemed to be a fairly large disparity of rooms in the same category, I would not stay there again as I would be afraid to get a room similar to the first one I had.

I came from Liverpool to London to meet up with my son who was coming from Paris.
I hadn’t seen him in 5 long months and so this was to be a special reunion.
I struggled to find the hotel but the lovely Maria kindly sent me instructions which were excellent.
On arrival , I was greeted with a lovely smile and warm welcome from Maria and shown to my room to await my son.
The room was superb.
A very comfortable bed with quality linens and towels and a lovely kitchen/ seating area and all spotlessly clean.
There was water and milk in the fridge and wine at £15 a bottle to buy which was very reasonable.
I highly recommend the Rosebury.
It is in a lovely area with lots of great restaurants nearby and Exmouth Market.
Thank you for such a lovely stay.

This was our first UK staycation due to the pandemic and we had booked a two night stay in a Mandarin Room. Arriving at just after 10am we certainly didn't expect the room to be ready but we were offered a complimentary coffee whilst they checked availability and within 30 minutes we were in our room, what a great start! From the doormen who greeted everyone with a warm welcome (and even loaned us cash to pay for a taxi when the credit card machine failed) to the team on reception who were courteous and efficient and the faultless staff at the Rosebery Lounge who treated us like royalty. Everyone we encountered was so personable and friendly and we felt immediately at home. As friends of MO we chose the offer of the complimentary breakfast each day in the main restaurant which overlooked Hyde Park. I can't remember the name of the staff member from Zimbabwe who served us but what an asset he is to the hotel. I honestly think he would go above and beyond to ensure guests were happy, he's a real character. We took advantage of the pool facilities after a long day of walking around London and what a treat that was and the main advantage was that we had it too ourselves. Our room was on the 8th floor, very stylish and spacious. Every detail had been carefully considered from the night lights which came on automatically when you got out of bed to the japanese toilets and the lovely diptyque hair and shower gels. Kudos to the housekeeping team as it was spotless. Worth the splurge and we would return again.

My wife and I recently stayed in Mandarin Oriental while visiting London. From the moment you arrived the driveway, you will be impressed with everything about this beautiful hotel.
The door man are warm & friendly, they welcome you and took care of your luggage, escort you to the reception pass by a elegant decorated staircase and the hotel lobby. The reception are tastfully designed. I particularly likes all the staff uniforms. Nice in color, fashionable in style with a little touch of the British culture and oriental heritage.
Check in was quick and smooth. The room is spacious and beautifully decorated with many high quality amenities, more than what you need. The hotel provide you with complimentary sparkling and still water in GLASS bottle, great initiative for the environment!
We went to the restaurant in the grand floor for the breakfast and witnessed the Queen's Guards walked passed the hotel from the hyde park. The staff suggested us to watch the change of Guards in front of the Buckingham Palace, and even arranged the house car for us so we can continue enjoy our breakfast without rush. The hotel also cant be more helpful when I purchased the EPL tickets in advance. As a london address is required, I use the hotel address and the hotel follow up and take great responsibility to ensure I have the tickets ready for us.
We received turndown services every night with a small gift. That created some excitement and a smile for my wife every evening before sleep. We visited Bar Boulud on one evening and when we back to our room, there was a box homemade madeleines from the restaurant, what a nice touch!
We enjoyed the walk in the park and walk to nearby shopping malls, museums. The train station is next to the hotel which make it so easy to go anywhere in the city without traffic or paying for taxi.
London is indeed a great place to visit but what made this trip so memorable for us is Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park.

The bedroom was a super king size bed with very silky sheets. V comfortable. The toilet was electric so one did not have to go the trouble of manually lifting the cover or seat. The in room tea and coffee was very good. The breakfast was high quality. The staff worked hard, though some were very obviously complete beginners. One waitress spilt a little milk while serving my coffee. She tried to mop it up with the bill. V. cute but not correct. She was also oblivious that she put the cup on the incorrect side. A trivial point but shows she was a complete novice. She was trying hard though which is good.

One of the best hotels I have every stayed in, Truly service at it utmost best, I can go on and on about this hotel, The staff is so extremely professional, They all greet you with a big smile and your name, There was a small mistake regarding our room not being finished at 15.30 when checking in, But they made up with it such an amazing and professional way, We got upgraded to a lovely room with view over Hyde Park with an amazing balcony, Also they send us amazing tasty cakes and tarts and a bottle of wine, Also they kept asking if everything was ok, Even got a call from the duty manager, I never experienced anything like this. They have an whatsapp number you can message and they literally reply within 1 minute, They even wanted to change my old pound notes for me, What a level of service!! Breakfast is amazing, The only thing what I would say is skip the buffet and only offer ala carte to your guests, As the breakfast room is too small and it gives a “cheap” hotel feel with people standing in line to get something from the buffet ( although it’s tasty).

I made a comment one evening to the concierge about the smell I loved so much in the hotel and asked them which smell it was, When I came back to the hotel after dinner they had placed a gift in the room with the perfume they used in the hotel with a little handwritten card, I really felt touched by this it really warmed my heart.

The rooms have everything you need, They even place hand cream every evening next to your bed, All products are from Diptique ( love) also they place a little cloth for cleaning your glasses ( luxury at it’s best) and the rooms are modern and extremely clean, They even place your vanity products nicely and sorted ( love these little things)

The spa is WOW!! Only thing is that ladies and gents are separate, So I couldn’t spend time with my fiancé while in the spa .

I don’t even need to say anything about the location because it’s the best of the best, Also the afternoon tea is splendid.

Just in one word: FANTASTIC, Don’t even think twice and book this, I know it’s really pricey but trust me, I don’t say this often.. It’s SO worth it.

I visit London regularly but have never stayed at this hotel before. Well this time in the current climate I was nervous but the procedures in place made us feel very safe. Staff have gone above and beyond to ensure your safety. Even in the bedrooms, sanitiser at bedside and the room is completely sanitised before we arrived. Check in was smooth and we were delighted to hear we had been upgraded. Our room was simply stunning. Beautifully appointed with the attention to detail in everything. Beautiful bed linen and amazing towels. Stunning toiletries and the bathrobes and slippers probably the best yet. Breakfast was beautiful. We had a table overlooking Hyde Park. The breakfast menu was amazing and varied and the food just gorgeous. The staff were very busy but always had time to chat and there was no stuffyness, we were treated properly and everyone was helpful and friendly. The whole hotel is just beautiful, check out the downstairs toilets near the spa! We found afternoon tea a little disappointing, pastries were bland but looked beautiful. We cannot wait to stay again, if you have ever thought about staying, do it, now my favourite London hotel!

The Mandarin is located in a locker area nestled right into Hyde Park. You have a lovely view of the horses and guards, during breakfast as they head towards Buckingham Palace. The staff is very welcoming, and attentive. The amenities are also top notch (spa, fitness center, pool, bar) and the hotel is very clean and regal.

We arranged for the hotel to send a car for us at the airport when we arrived in London, and it was a smooth process and really reduced the amount of hustle that can sometimes happen when you arrive to a foreign airport (baggage claim, navigation, taxi lines, currency exchanges). When we arrived to the property, we were greeted by two porters who brought us right up to our room where they completed the check in. They make sure you are comfortable and settled in.

The rooms are small and lacking of a view. We had a “corner suite” one side which directly looked into another hotel - and the window could not be left open. The other window was a fire scape. Unfortunately this made the rook a bit dark and dreary. Otherwise the bed was comfortable and the decor was modern and clean. Bathroom was very spacious and has nice finishing touches (heated toilet and floors, multiple lighting options and top of the line appliances).

Overall great location, and very pleasant experience. Not as stuffy as the Ritz (where they don’t allow you to walk in without a suite and formal dress shoes) but certainly a top tier hotel.
