Stayed in our camper for three nights at The Settlement camping area in Springbrook NP. Just 45 minutes from the Gold Coast, it is a world away in terms of getting back to nature. The camping area, located a short walk away from Purling Brook Falls, has around 11 sites which must be pre-booked online with reasonable separation and privacy, an amenities block and a shelter and BBQ area.
The Park has a number of well-marked walks that take in the various waterfalls contained within it. The park has several sections and you need to drive to those away from the camping area: At Purling Brook Falls there is a circuit walking track of 6km ( if you take on the sidewalks as well) that is very picturesque.
About 5km away is Twin Falls where there is an equally lovely 4km circuit walk that is well worth doing: access is from a number of points, the main one being near Twin Falls itself. At this location there is also a larger 17km loop through the rainforest for the more active amongst us.
It is also well worth the 30 minute drive over to the Natural rich section of the NP where a well made 2km circuit track takes you to this particular formation: well worthwhile.
One of the loveliest and easily accessible NPs in the region: the drive up alone is worth the effort.

started with Hardys view then Canyons lookout which was spectacular. Finally the Best lookout. this was amazing and timed it just right as a local was there and explained all the view including the smoke haze from the bush fires.
A must is the walk to the Natural Bridge. when on the trail go clockwise following glow worm cave. this means you go down steps and back up the track. A lot easier.
The bridge waterfall was amazing and you can go in cave and see bats flying. a really special place.

Amazing walk to the falls. Grade 3 walk. Must do in Goldie coast hinterland. It was an amazing weather too. The drive was just beautiful. It was raining today and drive amidst mist and fog and rain was a bonus. Attaching few photos taken by me today.

We drove to Springbrook National Park and it was an amazing experience. We were able to stop at all the recommended points of the park and the views were spectacular. MUST GO! There were waterfalls and picnic areas too! There are walking trails up to 6km if you have time. We then drove to the Natural Bridge - another MUST GO! It was another spectacular sight to behold. It is so beautiful in Springbrook National Park. It is nature, culture and history. It was a volcano - 23million years ago!!

We had a wonderful day exploring Springbrook National Park. Highlight was the Natural Bridge - I suggest getting there early so that you can enjoy it yourself, without the crowd. When we were leaving there were about 20 cars in the carpark.
We also visited other areas of the park including the ‘Best of all lookouts’ track, which was a lovely short walk, The Canyon - which is a lovely lookout and starting point for walks such as twin falls, Buliya-Buliya jagon boardwalk, Goomoolahra lookout, and Boojerahla lookout.
Just a tip, the Natural Bridge section of the park is about 45 minutes from the other sections of the park, so ensure you take that under consideration when planning your trip and choosing which starting point to put into your GPS.

There is so much to see at Springbrook National Park, so if you're going to visit, allow a few hours for the excursion.
My wife and I made the drive from Mudgeeraba to the park and it was just stunning. We were unable to do much at Apple Tree Park, as walk trails were closed due to bushfire risk, but we made the most of our visit to the Purling Brook Falls and embarked on the 4km (according to notice board, but actually closer to 5kms) circuit walk. The scenery was just beautiful. Bit warm, but we carried plenty of water and wore hats.
We also visited the Canyon Lookout and the Best of All Lookout. Views from both were incredible too.
There are a number of places to grab a drink or something to eat within the park, as well as picnic areas. Definitely worth a visit if you're in south-east Queensland.

You need a full day to explore this park. We self drove from Gold Coast and stopped along several lookouts including natural bridge and twin falls. Gorgeous hikes and lookouts. Easy to do with young children.
However we didn’t have enough time to cover Tamborine. The shops there close early at 3pm so we skipped Tambourine.
I recommend this drive 100% if you happen to stay in the GC. Originally we were debating if we should visit theme park for a day for do this drive. We are so glad we chose this self drive. 200% better than theme parks

Natural Bridge / Arch is beautiful - def take the clockwise path.
So much water flowing over all the falls we visited - spectacular.
Along the route there are many cafes - all closed on Mondays we discovered today.

We were able to swim about 20mins walk further into the Valley from Purling Brooks Falls. There is a nice little hole and rocks to jump from there. Swimming is NOT permitted at Natural Arch or base of Falls.

Hello. I’m doing a day trip to Tamborine mountains and staying a night in Springbrook. I like to enquire if I need a GPS or using Google maps will do.

Hi Andrew, after you leave the Gold Coast and are on the Road up to Springbrook you will see the Currumbin Rock pools on your left hand side. There is also a small café nearby so you can have some refreshments. Its a great road trip, enjoy.
