Tokyo Subway Ticket 72h... 2 types and where to buy?

Hi guys,

I can see following two types:

o Tokyo Subway 72-hour Ticket, JPY, 72h from Travel starting time

o Tokyo Subway 72-hour Ticket (IC), 1500 JPY, 72h from time of purchase

What is difference beside no. 1 gives you more time, i.e. 72h starting from first travel?

Can you only buy the cards at Subway stations as Tokyo and Shinjuku ? not online? not from NRT airport?

Number 1 gives you more time. It starts when you insert the ticket into a ticket gate for the first time. This is the one you should buy.

Number 2 starts when you purchase and it's an IC card that you tap in/out.

They are sold at both HND and NRT airports, various visitor information centers, shops like Bic Camera, Marui, and Sofmap. They are also sold at subway stations and many hotels.
