Hi all! I will be in Tokyo next week and I would love to purchase and original Shikishi. It doesn't need to be one of the biggest/most popular authors but I'd be happy with an hand drawn piece of art. Can you recommend any shop that sell these (no auction preferably). Thanks!
We have a lot of Shikishi Autograph. Brank shikishi often brings to have autograph by movie stars, singers and famous sport players. Didnt know Shikishi Art so far. It is not popular like Ukiyoe.
As my search in Google, we have two to three kinds, traditional but not very old drawing, calligraphy or anime manga. Even for either one, location of shops are very limited in Tokyo. We have used book town at Kanda Jinboh-cho. However I only located one shop there.

otherwise you will come down to Kanda Jinbohcho used book town to search more. Since Internet sites have many for sale, why dont they have in shops?
Edited: 5:26 am, April 13, 2024Thanks Kohji! Online are usually sold via Auction by Mandarake (popular ones like Studio Ghibli or Toriyama sensei’s one cost over 10 million ¥).
The risk with purchasing online is that a lot of those are fake. I will try Kanda/Jinbocho :)
