After a two hour transfer from the airport we were pleasantly surprised by the reception and booking in process, even more pleased by the quality and cleanliness of the wonderful rooms. We had increased our budget for this years holiday and we were most disappointed with the poor quality and attitude of staff at the hotel throughout our stay. Almost every time we dined out and requested a particular type of wine (Savignon Blanc) to go with our meal, we were told by staff that they had ran out, this proved untrue and basically the waiting staff just could not be bothered to go to other restaurants or bars within the complex to replenish their stock. We complained at reception about this and eventually staff came to our room with sincere apologies armed with a pathetic plate of biscuits and hilariously stated "we were going to bring you a bottle of wine, but we haven't got any" at this point I half expected John Cleese to walk past. Why on earth would we accept a plate of biscuits as an apology at an all inclusive resort ??? On two occasions our room was not made up or mini bar replenished and when we asked a member of staff for extra tea bags she simply replied " I've got none" rather than "I'm sorry I'll get you some"
One evening we were sat in reception and ordered a round of various drinks- eventually the waitress arrived and then accidentally spilt the whole tray of drinks over my wife and a friend, no apology given and the waitress simply walked away leaving us to report the incident to reception who eventually cleaned the area up. We were asked for a room number, naturally expecting some kind of complimentary token of apology.... How foolish of us to expect anything.
The breakfast was actually very good and the choice of dishes proved to be ample, however the service was poor, this lack of service quality also proved to be very similar around the pool area as at times we sat here all day and waiting staff only came round offering drinks three times in an eight hour period.
The hotel was very clean and has ample facilities, the beach was beautiful and good amount of trips available by several tour operators which I would certainly recommend.
The spa facilities proved to be very, very expensive charging 200 US dollars for a massage.
The evening entertainment was weak and lacked the 'Caribbean feel'
To sum up- wonderful hotel, incredibly bad service. Management of various departments really need to address these issues. The hotel had standards but didn't meet ours.

Just got back from a weeks stay here and gutted we couldn’t stay longer
Having read some of the reviews I was a little nervous and wondered if we made the right choice! And we did!

We opted for a private transfer from a previous Trip Advisor recommendation. Mark at ‘Rising Sun Taxi service’ who was fabulous (see review)

We arrived on New Years Eve after a long flight and were greeted with a nice cold welcome drink, shown to our rooms and our cases arrived pretty soon after. We headed down to the bar for some food and it was truly outstanding ! The entertainment and fireworks were great and helped us party into the small hours (having been awake for 24 hours! )

Our room 2109, was spacious and was kept lovely and clean by Cecilia and she also provides a turn down service.

The food and restaurants are all fabulous and I don’t really understand what people have to complain about! I had the best steak I’ve ever eaten at the Hunter restaurant. I’m not usually a buffet fan back home but the amount of food and quality of food there was amazing, you were spoilt for choice.

The staff are all friendly and cheerful and often seen dancing whilst going about their daily duties :-) the entertainment team do a great job and bring a lot of energy with them.

Shout out to the staff; Germain , Stephen, Maureen , Hector the selector and the Vibe team!

My only two complaints ;
The ‘welcome breakfast’ just avoid it. It’s 90 minutes of your holiday you won’t get back. They try to sell you a membership scheme which also involves having to sit and eat with a staff member. Which I thought was just plain weird!

The hideaway guests! Obviously this is not the hotels fault. But they would get up at 6am to reserve ‘their’ sunbed and not sit on it for 4/5 hours of the day. It’s just bizarre, enjoy your holiday people and have a bloody lie in. (note; there’s plenty of sunbeds in other parts of the hotel- we found the dips bar to be the best)

Overall a great holiday. Would recommend !

Let us start with the positives, this is a lovely hotel set in beautiful grounds, spotlessly clean and well maintained. The beach and bay feel really private and the rooms are large and well equipped. It is nice that you don't have to pre-book the alacarte restaurants and the pager service is a good touch, the food in general was of good quality, particularly the steaks.
The 'could do betters' are only niggly and could easily be rectified with a bit more attention to supervision, for example, there wasn't a day during our two week stay that we didn't have to call housekeeping because the staff had failed to re-stock body wash, shampoo, tea, coffee or bottled water for example. The requirement to queue for a table in the buffet restaurant seemed totally unnecessary, more often than not there were many empty tables and those staff employed to lead you to your table would be better employed clearing and re-setting! Another example of the requirement for attention to detail, on every visit to the buffet restaurant we had to ask for a teaspoon, a coffee cup, a napkin or sugar. The buffet food was OK and the choice was wide and varied but if you, like us, prefer to eat a bit later in the evening then you may well find a rather dried up, luke warm choice!
Finally, avoid the sales team, they say that they will take you for a meal in the buffet restaurant (which you have already paid for!!!) you have to commit to a minimum of 90 minutes which inevitably turns in to a longer commitment and then they (we were told) get quite aggressive if you don't buy in to one of their schemes. We went along for the event but when I refused to sign anything or commit to the 90 minutes we were unceremoniously 'kicked out'!
Finally, the hotel seem to be overselling their Hideaway experience and as a result the private beach, pool and restaurant just cannot cope! I am glad that we didn't pay the additional money for the 'experience'.
Don't get me wrong, we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday but there are things, mostly simple things, that would be easy to rectify and would enhance the service.

Let me start by saying if you are thinking about coming to the Royalton in St. Lucia, don't waste your time nor your money. The resort is dirty and when you call to have a issue corrected they take forever to get to you. My wife and I stayed here for a short stay for my Birthday (January 19, 2020 through January 22, 2020) .We upgraded our room to a suite that had a swimout. When we got to the room there were so many mosquitos in the room that it didn't make any sense. We called the front desk to inform them about the issue and they said that they would send someone to spray the room which took a long period of time. They informed us to give it at least 30 minutes before we came back to the room because of the smell. After waiting we got back to the room there were dead mosquitos on our bed, floor, dressers and inside of our Jacuzzi. It looked so disgusting in the room. I called the front desk to request for a Supervisor and a refund for the $80.00 dollars in which we paid for to upgrade. I had to call back numerous times and after about an hour and half,  a Supervisor by the name of Victor had walked by in popped in however, he was not the supervisor that we were waiting for however, Victor was very nice and he was the only one that went above and beyond to help us. He said he had to get us out of that room, so he switched us to the diamond club which was basically the same type of room that we had,  but it had perks which we did not get a chance to utilize because of the short stay. So once again we had to move rooms again. We took our belongings to the other room however, we had to wait until they cleaned up that room for us which was cutting into the little time we had to say there. We didnt have any issue with the new room but I informed Victor that we was very unhappy and we was requesting for a extra comp day and our 80 dollars back due to all of the inconvenience for the time we spent waiting on a supervisor. We were going from room to room. Victor left notes for the daytime supervisor which was Nella and he said she would call us the next morning however, she never did.  I had to call the front desk once again before I finally got a chance to speak to her. She informed me that I was not going to get any money back nor a comp day because she felt as if the upgrade to the diamond was enough which was absurd. She was not helpful at all and very unprofessional. She later called my room and said we can get you a extra day for $683.00 and said that was a discount smh. I would not recommend anyone to stay at this resort. On top of all the stress my wife and I experienced going from room to room,  we left our winter coats in the closet not realizing while rushing to get our taxi and had to pay $203.00 dollars to have the coats shipped back to New York. This was by far the worst Birthday trip I've ever been on and we been to alot of different islands. Thanks alot Royalton for the worst experience ever. If you guys are looking to vacation here do yourself a huge favor in run far away from this resort.

Dear Dougtheboss8, We regret that you have been subjected to a series of frustrating events and understand how it resulted in your vacation being less than satisfactory. Quality of customer service is a fundamental element at our resort and we are truly regretful for all of the service deficiencies experienced. Based on the facts revealed upon investigation of your review, your request of a room change to a Diamond Club Suite on the evening of the 20th was honored to compensate for the experience. Saint Lucia is very lush island and the resort has implemented techniques to eradicate insects. We value your business and truly wish that you can forgive the inconveniences. Please award us another opportunity to restore confidence in our brand. Warmest Regards, Rudy Richardson General Manager

We spent 6 days at this resort in February 2020 to celebrate my wife’s 60th birthday. This resort is 4 years ‘new’ and is in pristine condition. It is modern with bedrooms that are spacious and bright. The whole resort just exudes quality and great attention to detail. The resort is set in a beautiful cove bookended by green hills. The beach was always clean, the water clear (easy to see fish) with plenty of covered comfortable beach furniture and cabanas etc. The beach staff were polite and helpful and the vendors set up their stalls on the edge of the beach and didn’t hassle anyone. Most of the resort staff were friendly and helpful. Hats off to Everton and crew for the aqua exercises and beach entertainment. Pools were plentiful, modern and clean. A big shout out to Daniel Bernard - one of the Service Managers - who was very attentive and gave us an invitation to one of the restaurants in the adults only section when we couldn’t find what we needed in another restaurant. Also special thanks to Ravi Alexander in the office who let me use his computer to send an urgent business email. The food selection in the dining room was varied and of high quality. We especially appreciated the authentic local Caribbean dishes that were available daily. Restaurants were great too. One of our favourite eating places was the cafe near the reception that provided ice cream, designer coffee and cakes. The resort and facilities surpassed all of our expectations. We will definitely consider going back to the Royalton St. Lucia and also spending time at Royalton resorts on other islands in the Caribbean.

This was the 3 rd hotel we stayed in over the last 2 weeks due to the coronavirus, but not one I would have picked as it was like a small village .
We upgraded to the swim up room which was heavenly as we had our own space.
The suite was lovely , with a massive satellite tv, lovely toiletries, robes, safe and re stocked drinks fridge daily with juice, beers , coke , sprite and water.
Turn down service came around 7pm to take away your used towels.
So many restaurants, bars and pools just too big, and no where outside the grounds to walk to.

Hotel was 2 hour transfer from the airport, check in was easy and staff couldn't do more for you.

The room had a beautiful sea view and had a huge ceiling fan as well as AC, fridge had water, sprite & lager.

Massive shower as well as a jet bath, couldn't recommend this hotel more. There is 1 pool by the beach, a kids pool and another pool that has 4 sections nearer to the main building.

There are more than enough restaurants, the Teriyaki was our favourite and this is the only restaurant that you have to reserve in advance. We did book a candle lit dinner on the beach also and this was an extra cost of course but well worth it.
The service was slow on this occasion but that was not the waiters fault, he advised it was due to the restaurant in the Hideaway being busy. Disappointing but it didn't ruin the evening as we were enjoying the moment.

I do have to highlight one person in this and that is a lady called Carla, she was AMAZING in helping me to book this as a surprise for my wife as it was an anniversary celebration.

If you get approached by "Skinny Jimmy" from Nexus tours then he is a character to say the least, full of positive energy. We book a 1/2 day cruise with him, saw dolphins in their natural habitat, followed by a stop off at the famous Pitons for a photo opportunity.

All food and drink was included too. There was a DJ on the boat who loved his job, there was a stop off at the Sulphur baths (This is HOT) followed by a stop off at a cove to swim/snorkel. All of this is $100 PP, well worth the money. Security will check you on the towels you take and bring back just incase they go missing, strange they're worried about a towel!!

There is a coffee shop up by reception that my wife loved, had a coffee and cake most evenings after dinner :-) Then we watched some of the entertainment, the Michael Jackson impersonator (Dancer NOT singer) was very good. However if you want a front row seat get there early as they go quite quickly.

As we went during the pandemic we had to wear our masks walking to/from room, restaurants, shops, pool etc. Once you are seated or staying by the pool and beach then you could remove them which was no hardship.

Now the negatives.

When we arrived the WC had a small leak in the base which was running on to the floor, this was reported and fixed the following day as I didn't want it repaired straight away after a 17 hours door to door journey.

We did however have to ask for our fridge to be re stocked a few times in one day (Asked in the evening and again the following morning, twice) as they didn't do it and just once for the room to be serviced.

All in all it was a fantastic 2 weeks in the sun.

The only down side to this holiday is we couldn't stay longer :-(

So after a 2 hour journey from the airport we arrived at the Royalton. All looked good and we were exhausted after a long journey but we had to get in quite a big queue to get our room details, when we reached reception we were told we had to pay 200USD as a holding fee for any damage and 168USD visitors tax, we were never told about the 200USD holding fee and was told the visiting tax would be a couple of dollars a day!

When getting to the room which was quite a walk away we were pleasantly surprised, it was very large, 2 big beds and a whirlpool bath, nice balcony and quite nice views and a lovely shower.

But the following days things were not so good. Every day various spirits were unavailable, when speaking to our rep we were assured the issue would be resolved, it never was and became very frustrating.

In the room we were supplied with a coffee percolator which was lovely but you need a plug adapter to work it, I went to reception 3 days running to get the adapter, the 3rd day it arrived.

We were locked out of our room for 3 days, having to keep walking g back to reception to report it. After 3 days it was resolved.

The down escalator was not working on arrival and was still not working on departure, we were able to walk up and down it while not working which was quite dangerous. On both the up and down escalators the hand rail was totally worn off.

The long pool close to the beach was dirty and had tiles missing which you could easily have cut your feet on.

The 5 restaurants you didn't have to book for apart from one but we were hardly ever able to walk in and sit down as there was 6 of us, it seems larger than 4 people are not catered for unless you eat early.

On a plus note, the food was nice, quite a good selection, 99.9% of staff were lovely, especially Kim in the Mexican and Rodney in the Steak House. The rooms are cleaned daily, altho sometimes you would get 2 towels the next 4 so a bit weird. The beds are really comfortable and the air con is good, altho don't leave it off as the room gets damp.

We felt the location was quite isolated, there was no where to walk to, no bars or other restaurants so if you like a walk out this is not the place for you.

Some people may think my comments are trivial but we saved hard for this very expensive holiday, over £4000 for 2 of us, we were quite disappointed with the hotel. Definitely not 5☆ as advertised.

The Royalton is a long 90 minute  drive from the airport but we had a pleasant stay in a good clean hotel which is staffed by friendly and helpful people and set in beautiful manicured  gardens.

We were in the family-friendly section of the hotel. Our room was large, very clean and the bed was very comfortable. During our stay there were  several occasions when something wasn't replaced in the room  (i.e. towels, bath mat tea/coffee etc) however, these items were immediately replenished with a call to reception but really this shouldn't be happening in this class of hotel.

Due to Covid restrictions the buffet Restaurant food  was served by staff, even the condiments etc. The staff serving worked non-stop but as the hotel got busier during our stay  queues often formed at different stations which meant food was going cold on your plate;  more staff was needed on each station  to prevent queues.

We ate at 4 of the a la carte  restaurants and the food and service was excellent but getting a table at a reasonable time was very difficult and we ended up eating either very early before 7 or after 9.

The beach is sandy and  clean with sun beds and fixed umbrellas; the beds get towels on very early each morning.    There is a natural rocky breakwater a few yards out in the sea which made it feel very safe for gentle swimming. If you are an ardent swimmer this may impede you. The large fun pool is next to the beach and there are  quieter pools in the centre of the complex but there are not many sun umbrellas in this area and no shade.

The bar/restaurant/stage area is where the  entertainment  takes place each evening.  The entertainment is of mixed genres but can be loud  and involve audience participation. It did always go quiet from 10.30.  For a holiday of 2 weeks however, this got a little monotonous and the hotel needs an alternative evening bar away from the loud entertainment open to guests from all 3 sections.

I wish I didn't have to leave a negative review but after checking out more than a week ago and having been told that they would address the following concerns I have still not had anyone reach out to me. It's upsetting that they feel it's okay for a customer to have these concerns and yet didn't find it urgent enough to follow up with a resolution:
The communication of the staff at this resort is abysmal which made for a frustrating stay. The resort itself is beautiful which we knew from booking online and looking at pictures but my wife and I booked both a swim up suite in the hideaway building and a jacuzzi penthouse room through the diamond club. Both had the butler service included... which it might as well have not been on the package. We would ask for something like water bottles and get them 4 hours later or try to ensure that the room be cleaned by the housekeeping staff and things would be missed. Booking with hideaway and then the diamond club meant we had to literally check out of one lobby, walk across the resort to check into another lobby, and then head back across to our second room... a process that should be seamless but with the hideaway having a system that was down meant a long delay of being able to use our rooms, get to luggage, etc. I wouldn't normally fault a property for something like this but given how much we were spending for what should be a 5 star luxury experience it was frustrating when adding to everything else we were already dealing with.. Both rooms had bathtubs that couldn't be drained and when we would have a concern the staff were almost dismissive about it. For the penthouse, we had a hot tub that didn't work (wouldn't heat up and most jets didn't turn on) and in the two days we stayed there the staff hadn't fixed this. The manager, Consuelo, said we would be refunded a difference of room category but couldn't tell me how much and we still hadn't been issued a refund. Don't ask the staff questions about the property because you will get inconsistent answers. We were told by butler service we had reservations for Zen at 7:30, then the hostess said at around 6:00 it was actually for 7:00 and when we got there at 7:00 we were told we couldn't be seated till 7:30. The best part of the resort are the staff by the beach because they were super friendly with the water sports equipment and rentals. The Culinary Experience was really nice along with the beachfront dinner (both of which were paid for separately so OF COURSE those experiences were great) and the Dorado restaurant for hideaway guests was consistently great. Armadillo was good if you like TexMex food but room service along with gourmet marchet & Zen weren't very good. All things I'd normally be okay with if we weren't already having the previously mentioned issues.

Dear Cjcollins0329, Thank you for choosing our resort for your recent vacation and taking the time to share your experience with us. Your kind compliments on the beach staff is truly appreciated. It is regrettable to learn that you had less than a positive outcome as this is not the typical Royalton experience. Our team values your feedback; your comments have been noted and shared with the relevant managers for further review. We are humbled to have hosted you and although an apology will not change your outcome, it is our sincerest hope that you will grant us another opportunity of serving you an experience which will surpass your last. Regards, Anderson Howard General Manager

There were a few places to use your USB cord, but we opted not to use that and brought multiple adapters for our various devices. There is a blow dryer in the room so no need for adapter for that.

Yes you can. If you upgrade to Diamond club you get a butler and can make reservations at the restaurants. If you are not Diamond club you go to restaurant and they give you a buzzer when they can seat you… no reservations if not Diamond club. Either way you will enjoy your stay
