This restaurant has been around since the late 60's. I come here for the special occasion. It has a very old style romantic ambience that cannot be found in other French restaurants in Hong Kong, and of course, the oldies menu. They still serve sorbet in between entrée and main courses! Please make sure you have the dessert Napoleon, or in another name, Mille-feuille, absolutely divine.

因為不想a la carte去想吃什麼，我倆也叫了dinner menu。我點了4 course，朋友點了3 course。朋友因身體問題不能吃甜食，但他們不讓他選頭盤加湯及主菜，說甜品必須跟上。那我們也只好依照，也覺得沒所謂，至少也問過。

好的！頭盤來了！我選了它們家岀名的煎鵝肝。它們家的鵝肝是用冬瓜來配的。我記得從前的是用梨子的。這個冬瓜也蠻新穎，水份不會過多但不是少，但能中和鵝肝的油份。醬料也好像淡淡的黑椒sauce的味道，不是好特岀，所以也不是太吃到他的味道，可能是因為冬瓜水份的問題。然而鵝肝自己煎得不夠香，所以總括來說鵝肝只是不過不失。不是有太大驚喜。

湯：clam chowder。也是它們的招牌菜。個人覺得晚上的比較好味。因為clams are much bigger和湯比較濃郁一點及有鮮味。這個我覺得不錯！

我們另外再叫了一份escargot。味道很獨特，但不是太特岀，有一份少少的酸味再配garlic butter.。這個就是，我覺得大家不用試。

喝完頭盤之後，它們會給你一個grapefruit sorbet去清清味雷。這個sorbet不會太甜，也不會太酸，我覺得很清新。

主菜：baked cheese king prawns with lobster sauce. Lobster sauce應該是lobster bisque的濃郁版吧。amigo的lobster bisque就不用說吧，一定是好的。整體感覺不會很「溜」，就是剛剛好的。cheese只是一點點，所以不會蓋過龍蝦汁及大蝦的味道。份量也是剛剛好的，所以女生可以點這個。我吃到一半已經覺得很飽了！！可是真的蠻美味的關係，我也把蝦吃完。

甜品：橙味souffle。就是中規中矩，不過不失吧。不會很甜。加了Orange sauce也是淡淡的。真的是跟食空氣無誤（笑）

生日蛋糕：napoleon蛋糕本人覺得就是比從前的沒那麼好吃。不知道是否因為是免費的原故，可是就是普普通通。但是也是因為是免費的，我覺得不用太高要求。他們還會給你玫瑰花及幫你拍照。

服務：老一輩的接待生好像比中年及後生的好。真的要給掌聲這班老前輩，真的是敬業樂業，很值得人尊重。希望中年的跟少年的，先的一輩可以跟前輩多加學習，讓這家老牌餐廳能好好做下去。
還有他們洗手間裡有一位姨姨的，這個真的估不到到現在還有，真的是很七八十年代。她也照顧很周到，而我因不知情下也沒有帶小費進去，亦感到萬般的不好意思。

環境：是浪漫的，裝修也很有風味。另外，餐廳還有駐場歌手，會到每一枱讓你點唱。從小就看到他們仨，真的是他看著我大，我也看著他們大的那種關係。哈哈。他們現在連新英文歌也識唱。jason mraz, james blunt, Bruno Mars etc 這些新進歌手也識唱。希望大家若點完歌，也給他們一點打償作支持。因為這些駐場歌手文化也會越來越少的，何況他們三位也唱得很好及真的是什麼歌也識！

總結，如題，amigo也是穩陣之選，是一個中規中矩，不是會有大驚喜或大失望的地方。價錢也合理，所以也值得來的。

How traditional can a place be ? No matter how long ago you have been here, nothing has changed.
You come to Amigo if you want to be sure of the ambiance, the food, the service.
I was here for a business dinner, but most other tables were couples and many of them celebrating their birthday. The reason why you would want to chose Amigo is because of the (very good) band. They come and play at your table. But the good thing is that they are not noisy. The bands realises that they are not the center of attention.
And yes, the food is delicious as always

Me and my wife has gone to the resturant to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. The food is delicious with a very warm band playing good music.

The beef my wife ordered is nice and i have lamb steak as part of the tasting menu.

The half bottle wine we have open is very nice. However, it is quiite pricy for the dinner and the atmosphere is very vintage style which we prefer so more modern style restaurant.

This is another traditional institution where the local Happy Valley wealth on italian/western cuisine. Not cheap, tuxed service and a regular spot for business meetings where bills are expensed. There are no bad restos in HK, they would not last. This one has been here for decades.
