Found the place by accident while walking in front of it one evening and decided to go back the next day. We had to queue for 2 hours (during which they take good care of you by offering snacks and water) but it was definitely worth it! We particularly loved the honey glazed prawns, a must try! A few days later we discovered, also randomly, that they have a restaurant in another area where there was no queue at all and decided to eat there again. Back in Europe now and we already miss this place!

This is the best Peking Roast Duck recommended by the locals. We avoided the places frequented by tourists. To our great surprise, the food, service and ambience were superb. But be prepared for the long queue as the restaurant does not take reservation.

Got here around 2pm and there is no queue at all. But inside the restaurant is full. Maybe I'm just lucky that i avoided the lunch crowd. Ordered their famous peking duck (half) and a bowl of zhajiangmien. Cost me CNY200 for the meal. Definitely expensive but it's good.

Just go, you won’t regret. Duck and wrap was 5 star, cooked to perfection. Every dish was delicious and service was good too. Trying their desert combination dish, very good.

On our very first evening in Beijing, we strolled along the streets around our hotel and came across this restaurant. It was 17:55 and the queue was about 30-40 people long. Whilst we had done research on this restaurant before we came, we had intended to leave it in the "We will try here if we run out of options" category. We approached the wait staff, who were handing out icy poles outside the restaurant (it was humid and hot, 32 degrees Celsius) and asked about the waiting time. The answer was, like all the other reviewers mentioned, 2.5-3 hours. As luck would have it, someone walked out of the restaurant with a piece of paper (queue ticket number) in his hand and told the waiter that he was leaving as he had been already been waiting for two hours. The waiter then took the ticket and gave it to us - if we were interested to wait for maybe another half an hour, we could have the table. We jumped on it - the ticket had a time stamp of 16:08 on it, which meant the original ticket holder had done the first two hours of waiting for us! We were taken inside the restaurant to wait for our table. There was a screen showing which table number was next to be served, and our ticket number was "only" 5 off. Again the waiter came around with a free hand out (wind-up duck toy) for the people waiting in the queue. So just before 18:30 we got our table! We ordered about ten dishes (for 5 of us) including half a Peking Duck. It was very good and one unusual suggestion from the waiter was to dip the duck skin with some sugar - unfortunately we did not try that. With the exception of CharQiangMian (cold noodle with minced pork and bean paste mix), all the other dishes were excellent, especially the "lionhead minced meat ball (pork) soup" and crispy prawns with honey. The service was very good and they asked for our feedback when we were about to leave. The place was very packed but we were not being "hurried out". It was also not too noisy and with our "half an hour lucky wait" thrown in, we were very happy with the total experience. If I live locally, I can see myself having regular dinner here. The challenge is how to overcome the queuing time.

Absolutely lively and nice place, they have chairs for you to sit while waiting, bring out water and ice cream as well. Good food, kind of English menu. Minuses, if you did not get your waiting ticket via wechat (yes you can and it has 30 km radius!!!!) and you don't speak or understand Chinese, it may be challenging. 1)they shout numbers in Chinese, 2)they dont speak English and sometimes its hard to communicate with staff even if you have translator. Other than that, staff is absolutely helpful and very attentive, except they don't clean the table when you finish eating (?), and food is good. 2h wsit was not very bad on the weekend, and you can pay straight away via wechat or alipay using table qr code.

I don't say "Best meal" lightly. I genuinely think this was the tastiest meal I've ever eaten. Do yourself a favor and get there, wait in the long line. Read a novel or two, then treat yourself to the best Peking Duck in all of China. Seriously though, the line is ridiculously long. Well worth the wait. The staff is also fantastic. I did go during pre-covid times, so things may have changed, but I bet the food is still amazing.

This place was recommended by our tour guide and when we tried to go the first time it was going to be a 3 hour wait. We instead went slightly off hours and got food to go, but it was yummy. Nice and crispy and not too fatty was the duck and the pancakes were thin and complimented the duck

We were taken here by our tour guide as we asked for a recommendation for some good Beijing Duck. This is the best duck our family has ever tried and we also tasted some other local Beijing cuisines. I would recommend to try this place, especially if your from out of town. It wasn’t even that expensive. The culture and traditional open fire, with the ducks cooking makes this a great experience.

This was the first restaurant we zoomed in on our first day in Beijing and we were not disappointed. The roasted Peking duck was totally unforgettable. Even my 8 year old who had never eaten duck before loved it to bits. The traditional desserts are worth a try and I must say probably the best in town. They do sell the same type of traditional dessert outside in other shops but I think those served here are exquisite. I surely want to come back again.

We arrived at 1445 on a Monday afternoon and were informed of a 20min wait which was fine. The free snacks were nice to pass the time. Sure enough, we were seated 20 mins later and placed our order from the huge menu. The menu was very easy to choose from thanks to the pictures and English name next to the Chinese description. The duck came out whole and the chef carved our half for us which was interesting to watch. We enjoyed the meal and thought the price was reasonable! About $35 USD for all that food! The downside was the uncleanliness of the restroom. Only 1 for women (as far as I could tell) which was filthy.
