Another amazing stay at The Okura Prestige in Bangkok -- this time in the Royal Suite.

I asked an associate where she would like to conduct our quarterly review meetings and her answer was "The Okura of course", so I decided to book myself a stay with the Okura Club Lounge access. The Club lounge offers the perfect (and scrumptious) setting for meetings, and it was a pleasure to switch between meeting mode at the Club Lounge to personal private work mode at the Royal Suite simply a few steps away. With all the banks, shopping centers and embassies within the area, what a convenient place to base oneself when saddled with so many errands and meetings.... oh and some shopping lists to attend to ! A nice solution is this Blei-sure (business + leisure) option when in traffic-clogged Bangkok.......minimize travel time and maximize work & enjoyment.

The Royal Suite provides a sumptuous base in Bangkok with its 165 sqm size that comes with everything one would need whether a busy business executive or discerning leisure travellers, for those who treasure separate bedrooms, living / dining / working areas. The upholstery and carpeting throughout is immaculate, surfaces spotless and in particular the office/work space is in tip top condition ---I always check that in every hotel room. The dining table and full kitchen are terrific for those who wish to enjoy room-service dining in a civilized manner, or host a private dinner if the occasion ever calls for that. Another bonus is the full sized fridge in the kitchen. The private work area is absolutely perfect for Zoom calls.....I almost forgot I was working...it was such a zen-like atmosphere! The overall layout of the suite made it feel very much a "home-like" setting, breaking the mold of the typical hotel room vibes. For those with exacting standards of audio systems , the musical selection is comprehensive and soon enough I was piping soothing jazz throughout the suite. Usually, I only work at the writing desk but the sofa was so comfortable I even spent a few hours doing emails there.

As with my previous stay (separate review), the hypoallergenic bedding was extremely comfortable, the overall housekeeping cleanliness well attended to by Khun Namthip, who even remembered how I like my toiletries arranged. Okura suite bathtubs must be consistently some of the largest and best designed in the hospitality sector (in this SEAsia zone : Rosewood Luang Prabang hilltop tents, Kempinski SG and Four Seasons HK & CR are close behind) and they remembered to stock my fridge with only sparkling water. Every request for a bucket of ice was promptly delivered within 10 minutes...in fact, every request was promptly attended to in a most gracious manner.
Club Lounge staff were so helpful with sorting out photocopies for me, ever so graciously as I was completely inundated with work, meetings and errands during the stay. I was impressed that somehow it had been noted from my previous visit that I simply love their strawberry mochis....so it was such a pleasant surprise to see plenty of those (!) plus my favorite purple yam cream rolls during daily afternoon Sweets service :) They ensured that my guest was well taken care of while I attended several other meetings during the stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the savory offerings during evening cocktail service. It became a fun discovery moment as we eagerly awaited the 'featured' Japanese snacks prepared each day. There was a shrimp croquette which was simply divine. Personally, I enjoy their daily soups as well....let's just say we have a grand time with our gourmet experience here.
My associate has a way with words given her profession, so I asked her to describe the shrimp croquettes....and she replied : "For a fan of rich foods, the croquettes together with the creamy shrimp roe sauce worked wonders. A simple-looking snack became indulgence at its best, especially with the soft, consistent seafood filling. The croquettes must have been deep-fried at the perfect temperature, considering the excellence in crispiness of breading with no noticeable taste of oiliness. So, the richness is not at all overdone; instead, it is skillfully controlled by heat, timing and length of time in which the packages are cooked. And each croquette piece is quite delightfully sized, with an elegantly calculated quantity of filling. The layer of wrapping is done in perfect thickness, as in, not too thick and not too thin. An example of the blending of science and intuition."

I invited my associate to join me for breakfast at Yamazato and we both agree that the coffee is excellent there (for some reason, it is difficult to get decent coffee in Asian hotels....) Needless to say, the breakfast experience is very elegant & delicious. Portion sizes are just right and my request for a certain mackerel firmness was well noted by Khun Sasithon. All the team members were very attentive with replenishing tea/coffee and checking in on additional requests.... in the post-pandemic era of hotel experiences , this level of efficiency at breakfast service is rare. I judge luxury hotel service by the standard of breakfast service as that is how you distinguish between the merely good versus the greats.

The entire experience from arrival to departure was very well coordinated, with Khun Dania the front office manager ensuring everything proceeded smoothly and Khun Six the duty manager personally overseeing the check-in process. For my return trip in September , I was assisted by another colleague of theres (I regret not remembering to ask her name!!). It was also a pleasure to bump into the Director of Rooms Khun Rapiphan who I knew from another establishment in town. While I was in a rush to head off to other meetings upon departure, the Club Lounge manager who assisted me with the check out was ever so efficient. I was enjoying some of my all-time favorite Daifuku (strawberry mochi) and Khun Euro knew I was in such a rush so he personally made sure I had enough mochi to last a while ! As with my previous stay, the laundry staff promptly delivered my items precisely on time and in the exact manner which was requested.

This place is really well run and no wonder, just like last time - I saw the GM Khun Niek personally helping customers at breakfast, checking the food preparedness at the Club Lounge.... quality control starts at the top.
So looking forward to heading back !

I booked a promotion during Covid-19 slow down to enjoy staycation, I was treated by Mr. Troy at the Front Desk welcome and gave me extraordinary service and beyond my expectations, the in room breakfast was offered when I asked (to be honest it is very cheap rate and you will never expect such a full of in room breakfast will be included)
He showed me the room and the room was spacious and well equipped by the “ZEN” simply luxury style.
The toilet is separated from the bathroom and it has a stool for dressing and make up in the bathroom, this is reminding me that they care about little details like you are in Japan.
Swimming pool is small but offered you a nice view.
Food at The Elements Restaurant is world’s class.
Thank you for making my staycation exceptional

My wife and I spent about a week at the hotel over new year and were suitably impressed with the quality of the hotel and it’s facilities. Centrally located, close to cultural sites and high end retail it’s a perfect way spend a few days dipping in and out of a bustling city and reclining in the seemingly tranquil and reclusive environment offered by Okura. It’s very easy to escape the city by staying 30+ floors above street level eating Michelin starred food, relaxing by the cantilevered infinity pool and using the world class amenities.

The quality of the fit out was consistently high throughout the hotel, a level of detail and materiality not often seen. It’s an architecturally interesting building, with a blend of contemporary design and classical Japanese aesthetics.

Our room was large, welcoming and the house keeping service was attentive, with the usual expectations of daily room services including fresh fruit, flowers, replenishment of skin care products and turn down upon request.

The staff were always helpful and we were made to feel quite at home. I would recommend using the spa facilities, organising massages and using the fitness centre. To end our stay we were chauffeured to the airport in one of the S-class limousines, a good way to end our stay. We will definitely return.

We stayed 1 night in deluxe suite with city view.
We booked the room with promotion 11.11 so our room was available from 11AM to 11PM.

Excellent location! BTS sky train station just right in front of the hotel. There are convenient store, bank and dean & deluca on G floor.

Services were perfect!! All staffs are friendly and helpful. During our stay, housekeepers visited 3 times to take trash away, fill toiletries and make a bed sheet. Our room was clean and cozy so we had a good sleep. The hotel was well-prepared so there is no need to bring pajamas as they already prepared Yukata.

We are recommended Breakfast!!! We choose international buffet. It was so delicious, we do recommended “CrabMeat Omelette, Udon and Mushroom Omelette”. If you do like egg dishes, you’re gonna love the breakfast here.

Moreover, there is infinity swimming fool which is nice for photography and enjoy the city view.

The hotel is perfect for welcoming businessman, a group of friend and family with grown up children.

Overall, staying at Okura has made our day off perfect. We have some concerns regarding to safety and COVID-19 such as no handrail at bath area and no sanitizer at some locations. However, the GM already informed us that they are plan to replace bathtubs which includes two hand rails. Also, they will review a location of automated hand sanitizer. So it should be ok.

We stayed at Okura for 4 nights as a getaway from island life in Samui. We got a good resdients deal due to covid. Our main reason for choosing Okura was that we wanted to try out Yamazato for a special occassion. We made a great choice. The hotel is right next to the BTS station and within walking distance to many things and malls.

The room was lovely and spacious. When we arrived it had a sticker sealed across the door to confirm it had been fully sanitsed which was broken when we opened the door. There was a turn down service every night and all the staff were lovely.

The food in Yamazato was great too.

Due to Covid you had to reserve a slot at the pool which was a bit of an inconvenience if you wanted to stay there for a long time especially on the weekend when it was busier, but it's to be understod in the current environment.

As it's a 5* place, the food and drinks prices reflect that eg 200++ for a Coke which I felt was a bit too much but the cocktais are yummy!

Overall a good hotel that I would recommend again, although I'm not sure I would pay the standard prices outside of Covid.

This was our second time visiting the hotel. We went to the hotel quite early this time , however we found with numerous issues.

first issue was : Wifi did not work when tried to connect. The technician end up with giving the pocket Wifi to use as temporality solution. Explanation about root cause did not answer why we had this problem.

evening cocktail : not many choice of foods to serve which I was surprised and disappointed. Last January ( 1st visited) , I stayed here and all foods and Drink was a great experience , that 's why we decided to come back.

In addition ,some small small issues happened not go well.
However late night on the check-in day , I addressed the issues to hotel staff in order to inform what we facing.

Morning in breakfast time I saw how Hotel member reacted and tried to solve issues for us. Hotel managers deal with my complaints rapidly and thoroughly.
Honestly I was very appreciated that hotel took my feedback with serious improvement.

The lady managers came to talk and listen issues from us , also offered us to try the afternoon tea which was not in the normal set of Club benefit. While other issues was resolved and fixed together.
Wifi : Finally we can use Hotel wifi as normal
Afternoon tea : The food taste was nice and good presentation, would recommend to try
Evening cocktail : have a wide selection of food ( compared last night we had) and a high quality. Service was quick , hotel staff was so attentive. Overall was fantastic.
In my opinion , hotel not only providing the quick problem solving , They tried their best to ensure we enjoyed and had a pleasant trip until check-out.
Another positive feedback : the room always got cleaned at all during our stays, housekeeping works very good jobs

We will definitely come back and highly recommend for people who need the high class service for luxury hotel.

We stayed only for one night on our way back from the islands and our flight to Germany was on the next day. I redeemed some Leading Hotels points and we only paid approx. EUR 50 taxes. The hotel really acknowledges Leaders Club membership: Despite the fact we did not pay a single baht for the room, we were upgraded on arrival to a massive one bedroom suite on the top floor with every amenity one could think of. There was a teddy bear with the hotel logo as present, fresh fruit and sweets and a personal welcome note from management. Also, the general Manager made the effort at check out to say thank you in person and we had a nice little chat. The hotel‘s location is excellent, in the middle of the financial and shopping district with all big shopping malls literally a stone throw away, hotel is even connected via skybridge to the BTS station. Building and hardware are impressive and the property is kept meticulously. Doormen Service and front desk were excellent and super friendly. Breakfast provided a good variety of foods. Best ever: Outdoor swimming pool and bar on cantilevered terraces were absolutely stunning!!! If you are looking for a top notch city hotel, this is it. We would definitely return for a longer stay next time and can only recommend this fantastic property!

It's been so long since I've had reason to write a positive review, especially during this pandemic. When most hotels provide a near medical experience, Okura manages to rise above the rest, maintaining integrity whilst providing a beautiful customer experience. Our room, 3425, was beautifully appointed, spacious and with absolute cleanliness. Arguably this is one of the most beautiful Club rooms we have stayed at in Bangkok. The large bathroom, with his and her sinks, complete with large walk in shower and bath.

The bed, large, soft and appointed with the highest quality bedding. The room was surprisingly easily cooled, given the full height windows. We never had the Aircon any higher than low fan setting.

Unfortunately the club lounge was not being utilised during the pandemic. Alternative benefits were provided at the lounge and dining room on the 24th floor.

Afternoon tea, served between 2 and 5pm was a bit style over substance. Four small segments of sandwich, two small egg vol-au-vents and four cakes. Complimented by a nice selection of hot and cold drinks.

The cocktails and snack selection served from 5.30 to 7.30 made up for any discrepancies in the afternoon tea. Small set menus, Western, Thai and Japanese were available accompanied by some fantastic cocktails. Hopefully I've attached photos showing the Western and Thai options.

After a relaxing comfortable sleep we headed down for breakfast, again Covid means no buffet options, but a nice selection of breakfast options were available. Again Western and Thai options shown. Highly recommend the French toast which was just beautiful.

Both check in and check out were seamless and overall I could not recommend any better place to stay in Bangkok.

Parking available underground, lovely scenic pool (although it had no sun on a November afternoon) maybe mornings get a bit warmer. The gym, looked extensive, although we never used it.
