The food here is amazing. They wouldn’t accept my American COVID vaccination certificate and made me eat alone outside, which was pretty annoying. However, the servers were nice and the food is so good that I will give them a pass. I highly recommend the...fish soup (no idea what kind of fish, the name is like 20 syllables in German). The soup has a generous portion of fish fillets with nice crunchy skin and local vegetables in a delicate broth (broth added at table). I also had the veal and mushrooms in cream sauce with rösti, which was simply perfect. Beer is cold and tasty and the bread is fresh and crusty.More

There's not much to see from the street, but inside are nice rooms and a very pleasant little inner courtyard, where we ate. The menu is based on traditional Swiss food, but some more modern interpretations as well. Very good food, pleasant service.

After some time, we went back to this rather cosy restaurant in the middle of the old town of Switzerland for dinner. The food is, as always, excellent and the prices of the wines are reasonable (becoming rare in the city). What we did not...appreciate too much was the rather unfriendly reception. Was it because we arrived without a reservation (tables were available) or staff was stressed. We also had to wait quite some time for the plates. During the evening, the situation improved thank God as we like this place.More

This restaurant had a very good menu with options for all tastes. The food was very good especially the asparagus dishes. Wine menu excellent. Location is good and the atmosphere is lovely. Really nice experience and my foreign clients loved it.

After having had to wait an hour an a half for the mains! some of our group received meals that had obviously spent considerable time in the warmer. Skin had formed on the veal in the cream and mushroom sauce dish, the supposedly fried potatoes...were little cubes from a frozen pack that look anemic and were lukewarm as was the roast duck. The herb-butter had dried onto the top of the steak... need more be said... well yes! Providing the answer "it's disappointing" to the question asked by the waitress "was everything OK?" escalated to having the manageress standing at one end of our table of nine, defending her position to the ones affected that were sitting at the other end by speaking across the group. An apology was only forthcoming when upon exiting I reminded her of the Elton John song "Sorry seems to be the hardest word"! The staffs' behaviour was unprofessional and resulted in the atmosphere becoming tense and unsettling!More

We came two for lunch. I was tempted by the venison saddle which turned out to be mediocre, not much flavor. The desert of cremeschnitte with berries was also disappointing, heavy and lacking the expected fluffiness. The berries came from some can. My friend ate...very little and the bill of 110 franks seemed to me too high. The service was rather slow. So all in all I was not impressed.More

We visited with friends from overseas and enjoyed dinner at the “Zum Gruenen Glas”. The restaurant offers a great variety of classic Swiss dishes and absolutely meets the high quality standards of the certified "Gilde" restaurants. We liked the warm ambiance, delicious freshly prepared food,...the selection of handpicked local and international wines, and the very friendly service. During fall season, the menu holds traditional wild game, as well as a variety of artfully prepared creative game dishes. Our favorites were the "braised venison in plum sauce and parsley puree" and a "saddle of venison cooked in hay with chanterelles". Paired with a bottle of a red cuvee “Ocioto” – simply delicious! Must try starters are the “Autumn salad with boar and prosciutto” and a fresh goat cheese. The restaurant also offers a selection of vegetarian dishes. A great place for foodies, where low noise levels permit an easy conversation. Fairly priced. Highly recommended!More

The restaurant is a bit off the beaten track, but I recommend a visit. The service was really friendly, just fast enough for comfort. I really enjoyed the menu, plenty of mouth watering choices for starters and mains. I think maybe the dessert menu could...do with a bit of work. I wasn’t particularly inspired by it. It also has a substantial wine list with plenty of choice if you only want a glass. Prices? Well, if you are used to Zürich prices then you won’t be surprised by the bill. I’d definitely go again.More

Tucked away at the back of the restaurant is an outdoor eating area which was full, whilst the restaurant itself was empty. Great sitting outdoors, with a good selection of foods on the menu and several specials. The steak as excellent, rare as ordered with...lovely wild mushrooms. Friendly and efficient service. Expensive, but then everything here is, but enjoyable with a buzz in the air that was very enjoyable. Nothing for an intimate dinner for two, but great for a business dinner.More

Four of us had dinner, very nice. I had the Zurich specialty. Wine was great. A nice quaint restuarant to eat, and yes the menu can be in English as well. Not a far walk off the Old Town in Zurich. Safe to walk everyone...lots of people walking about. Staff were very friendly but we had friends who spoke German. Desserts were great. Main course presented well and tasty.More

We were attracted by the variety on the menu, including some twists on the old staple of steak tartare, even though the restaurant is a short distance away from the main routes through the old town. We were rewarded with generous portions of good and...creative food that was full of flavour. Service was unobtrusive and the pace of the meal seemed deliberately leisurely, which suited us perfectly; although we were provided with everything we needed as soon as we asked. The only downside we noticed was that it was hot inside the restaurant, but that seemed to be a theme throughout Switzerland's eating establishments on this visit.More

We returned here this year for another business dinner, and there were maybe 14 of us. We were given our own separate dining area, which was nice, because last year in the large dining room it was too loud. I thought my dinner was excellent...(Zurich-style veal with rosti), which I love, but my husband felt his meat was a bit tough. Our waitress was amazing - helpful, professional and fun for our rowdy crowd. The meal was expensive, but then, most are in Zurich.More

We had an excellent meal with attentive and friendly service. The kid goat - special on Saturday evenings was delicious and the wine choices by the glass just right. Overall a really nice experience and certainly worth taking the very short walk from Marktgasse.

Nice and comfy in the back room and bistro style in the front part. Swiss traditional cuisine and charming place to chat during a nice dinner. Great deserts too. Service was really attending and friendly. It was a little bit pricey though. Closes at 11pm,...so nothing for long chats.More
