After being ticked off that the laundry service in the Zurich Hilton Airport hotel (not too surprising but still annoying), I went searching for new clothes, at least some sock and underwear. The Airport stores obviously were over-priced for everything, until I wandered into Migros, which at first drew me in because they have food, grocery food you can buy and take home in a bag. I wandered to the back of the store and found Socks, Underwear and T-shirts and all priced, American style...affordable. So, even if I wear them and toss them it's worth a few bucks to have something clean to wear. So, for the price to have 1 shirt washed, I walked out with 3 pairs of underwear and 4 pairs of socks. The rest I have covered in my suitcase of still clean clothes. The food costs what you'd expect. The Baby bel cheese isn't $8 bucks like in the USA, it's $2.90 Fr. Nice.
Get something to drink and some food you can store in your room and enjoy. My company is run by Finance majors, which means you have a bunch of dudes and dudettes who came from college and have ZERO work experience, and are plopped behind a spreadsheet that has ruined companies and lives for nigh on 30 years now. How stupid is that? So, let's make up another discipline that speaks a language that few understand and ultimately get's people laid off, because of all the errors in trying to spreadsheet reality, and we'll take over the power pulpit. We'll call it common sense and you're only requirement is real job experience.
Am I pissed that I have to shop in a convenience store or inconvenient store because they are so flipping out of touch with reality? Yes, because they waste and waste and waste on numb nutz that travel to the company HQ and do nothing but mentally stroke each other.
Anyway, get your butt over to Migros, shop and be content. Highly recommended if you are stuck in the Zurich Airport Hilton and would like to eat food.
