in 2019 we stayed in tokyo's shiba district & enjoyed dining at a local izakaya.

we are considering booking a a trip to japan for may 2023, including a tokyo stay in shiba. so i am wondering what the situation is like now for dining in izakayas, given the one we ate in 2019 was crowded and we were the only foreigners. any feedback appreciated please re recent dining experience at izakayas from a foreigner perspective including covid aspects.
