I attended Wahaha in group lessons for 6 weeks:
Wahaha was recommended to me by a friend and I was so thankful they did for the following reasons:
1. My Japanese greatly improved (of course the reason I went there in the first place)
2. The location is great
3. The school pushes for a community, as the school is small you get a sense of community and you get to know a lot of other students even though they aren't in your class.
4. Class size is a max of 4 people, so you get a lot more attention from the teacher.
5. This is the biggest plus in my opinion.....the teachers are great, they really make you feel welcome and they are excellent teachers but they also became close friends. They socialize outside of class going to baseball and bowling etc. I can't speak highly enough of the way they make class very fun but yet still manage to get some much information across.
Since returning from my 6 weeks, all my friends have stated how dramatically my Japanese has improved, and I owe it all to Wahaha and some hard studying of course.
Can't recommend this school enough, I will most certainly be going back.

I needed individual lessons on specific days at specific times, the management did anything they could to fulfill my needs, the owner Junko met me on Sunday which I really appreciated, Toyoda tought me on a week day, they have been equally brilliant, and they are both fluent in English which at my stage is needed.

Very happy with this excellent school, which I used for three weeks to boost my facility with and understanding of Japanese intermediate-level grammar, spoken and written. before traveling through Kyushu, I brought a textbook not used by the school, but well-known to it. Teachers were flexible and usefully added material from their favorite text to supplement what I was using in my text (from a state-side school). The school also helpfully recommended an Air B/B pension that gave me a comfortable room, breakfasts and dinners (of high quality) when I wanted them, and engaging, fascinating Japanese conversations with gracious hosts. This is somewhat expensive at about $40 per hour plus some up front admin fees, but given the quality it is worth it.
