I attended during school holidays so it was busy but not intolerable.
I started my day with a free Yeoman Warden tour. He was super engaging and entertaining. I felt I learnt a lot about the Tower of London in an hour. As a solo traveller, it also helped me feel part of a group and gave me ideas on what to see around the Tower for the rest of my visit. I only planned to spend 1.5hrs here and ended up being there for 2-2.5hrs!

'Legion' about the Roman army is a first rate museum experience bringing to life the real lives of soldiers through their letters, gravestones and retirement documentation, and through their equipment found in the earth from Scotland to the Euphrates.

It does not dumb down. Artifacts call for some imagination, for me the weight of the horse armour from Syria. The lack of weight in the twin stakes carried for camp fortification. Labels suggest at least a willingness to read - not essential but it helps! The exhibition is not really for people expecting theatre and the kind of wow factor provided by re-enactment societies.

Above all 'Legion' conveys the centrality of the Roman Army in the ambitions and loyalties of its soldiers, and how, despite recurrent king making, it was in many more mundane respects the Empire's glue.

I thought the art was excellent. Wasn’t too crazy about the long queues to get into this free museum if you didn’t book in advance. You also couldn’t book it when standing in line as it stated it was sold out. The members and advance booking queue was almost non existent in comparison. The cafe is a joke. Over priced and of poor quality. For two baked goods, a bottled water and a tea, it cost the two of us £18. That’s £6 each for a tiny polenta cake and a mini pecan pie.

Fantastic museum, we all really enjoyed it especially the dinosaur area. We prebooked our tickets for Friday afternoon and walked straight in, it was very busy but we still could see everything and get around. We seen the queue Saturday and it looked horrific! So try visit a week day if possible.

There is so much to see and admire in this vast museum, we went two days in a row. As first timers, we started with a different free, 50-minute, tour on both occasions. The guides were very knowledgeable and highlighted a few feature items that we cloud have easily missed on our own. This gave us the opportunity to retrace our steps and see more of the magnificent items on display. The café provided welcome rest and refreshment each time, though, as none-Londoners, some of the prices seemed a little high. As entry to them museum is free, we were happy to make voluntary cash donations. Still plenty to see and learn about during future visits.

There isn’t much left from the Roman days and it’s hard to determine what is old and what is new. Thus, some imagination is needed. If you come this far then you have to go in but what you see is mainly newer buildings over the bath. They will tell you that they had to lower the water level to reveal the Roman parts.

Had pre booked tickets so no issues with queueing, huge amount of information available on the setting up and daily life in the war rooms. The Churchill museum was information overload, and, as not in chronological order, a little confusing. The layout of this part also didn’t help as couldn’t work out if we’d missed anything. The free audio guide was great, although the signs with numbers to press were not always easy to see. Outside the Churchill museum bit, you are back in the war rooms and while there’s not much to see (desks / phones / maps etc) the audio guide brings it to life with stories from the people who worked there mixed in with the commentary. Worth a visit.

Westminster Abbey is impressive and has a rich history of monarchs, dukes, scientists, poets and actors to name a few. Very impressed with the architecture and especially tombs of Elizabeth I and Mary Queen of Scots (big Tudor fan). You get an audio tour but I feel it would be more beneficial to go with an actual tour guide. Unfortunately when we went it was far too busy and we struggled to look at anything in detail. It would be better to admit less and space out visitors. You follow a route but many visitors pushed through or backwards causing crowding and bottlenecks in smaller areas. Unable to look at the graves on the floor properly as everyone was standing on them.
A beautiful place to visit and well recommended.

This is a fun day out!

There is something here for everyone which I think is what makes it so much fun. We picked up things like t-shirts for the kids and then scarves, coats and jewelry for the adults.

All of the shop owners were super kind!

I also loved the selection of food - something for everyone.
