Book a taxi it’s better and cheaper than a tour.
A really enjoyable journey or do bring punted around the floating village. Some stalls clearly souvenir cheap stuff but some great boats with street food and nice fruit etc to buy. Need to direct your boat guide to where and what you want. A good time though snd recommended. Booked a taxi to take us to this and then the floating market and much more cost affective for two people than a tour.

    Great experience
We had a lovely time with our host Sunny. He was very informative and funny. He made sure we were always comfortable, offering water to keep us cool. There isn’t a breeze that blows through the market, so wear something cool. Visiting the markets is something you have to do once.

    Fun, genuine market
Don't go to the other two very popular and touristy and very far away ones. There are quite a number of more genuine ones where there are more locals than tourists and so much nearer. Khlong Lat Mayom is definitely the one to go to for food. It is open on weekends and public holidays. Just visited it on 26 Feb 2023 which is a Monday and public holiday. The entrance hides the fact that the market is quite big as the it is very long compared to its width. Easily 100 stalls or more! Don't miss it.

Seller was selling rotten fruit. Went back to try and return the item, he was making it out as if it was my fault and was initially willing to refund 50% of the purchase cost.

After a lot of time passed he then offered back 150 baht from the original 200 baht stating that he can’t resell it and therefore would be making a lost!!

Who in their right mind and ethical would try to resell rotten food to other buyers?

I’m sorry I was the one that was making a lost and it had made the whole experience really negative for my party and me.

Everyone worked hard to earn a living, and for tourists these are our hard earned money which we want to enjoy using when on holiday but to be ripped off regardless of the amount is not a pleasant experience.

I would certainly won’t be going back, if one seller can blatantly say that about wanting to resell rotten food then what about other sellers? I wouldn’t be taking that risk since there are plenty of other markets to visit in and around Bangkok

We woke up early on Saturday Morning and were in our Grab Ride(app) by 9am heading to the Khlong Lat Mayom Floating market. We were there in about 20mins how traffic was very quiet and on the boat by 9:30am which was the first boat tour. There is a few different companies doing Canal/floating market boat tours watch our pricing. Some people paid much more for the exact same. there were 4 of us and one other group of 3 people on our boat. Was very quiet.

The boat tour was about 1.5 hour. 2 stops- orchid farm and small village market plus some much beauty in-between 40baht a person. I thought it would have been more of the floating markets you see in pictures. It is much much different. There is a small section that is the market with a few people in boats most of it was on land. The small village was also a market but on land. The village market had a small temple and some local vendors selling there stuff. it was very quiet as well. which was really nice. As we were leaving the market other boats were just showing up and they were crammed full. So glad we went early! We had about 30 mins at the village market. The Orchid farm was beautiful and smelled amazing but really you can't buy anything to take home. So seemed a bit pointless.
We passed so many boats again just crammed full. Once back we shopped and ate at the market. We left around noon and the Grab Ride back was 40 mins because traffic was so heavy.
Use Grab app so you know the fares.

It's close to the city compared to other FM's. Took BTS fr Surasak to Bang Wa, then got a GRAB there. It's unique, not touristy as locals go there to eat & buy things (we went on a Saturday). Lots of stalls to choose from. Took the long tail boat for 100 B, ride was about 1 hour, visited a temple & orchid farm. It's worth going there to experience what is a floating market. There are also many paths to walk around.

Khlong floating market is one of the most popular floating markets of Bangkok. We reached there by cab. As you approach the place the traffic gets denser so you can drop down a little ahead and walk some distance.
Once you reach there it’s difficult to find the place to get a boat. A little help from locals should be able to guide you to the boat ride. The ride is around an hour and a half. They take you through the narrow canals in a Long boat with around 12 people in one. The boat stops at the market where you can see various vendors selling food items off their boats in the canal. It also stops at an orchid nursery. There are nice plants and some garden decor stuff that you can buy from here as souvenirs. It’s really hot during the day time so it would be advisable to wear lot of sunscreen as well as carry along a scarf with you to cover in the boat. Don’t try to put your hands in the canal water as the water contains dangerous animals like Monitor lizard. There are options of some sea food available at the market but it would be good to carry along if you are a vegetarian. The ticket is not very expensive compared to other visiting points of the city.

It’s a real life market on solid ground built along a river system that passes through homes of locals.

Took a longboat ride for100baht per person to get to an orchid farm which was not too interesting but the journey itself took us to see how the locals live beside the river, with many having boats to get around as well.

The market itself seems quite big but we did not have enough time to fully explore. Lots of food to try out. Had the salt crusted fish which was good with very tender meat. Avoid the skin which is very salty

Good market to taste some local food at very cheap and good portion. Took the paddle boat for 50 Baht where you tour around for 45 mins.. Not much to see compare to Damnoen Saduak Floating market, but offers a different view (living by the river) and experience (very peaceful and quiet). Nearest to BKK.

It was a nice experience... But at the boarding point they fleece you for the boat trip. The taxi guy & agents are in collusion. Was not in our original plan but the cabbie kept insisting... Is more than an hours drive outside the city.Initially asked for 3000 TBHT per head & we finally settled for 1000 for 4 of us.

Just take the ride for an hour...don't but anything around.

There are several floating markets in Bangkok, but I recommend this place because of its location and well-organized. Beautiful old-day atmosphere.

Having a bunch of handmade stuff, plenty of local foods & desserts and lovely boat tour activity.

A long-tailed boat tour will take about 90 mins (round trip). The ticket price is around 100 baht/person.

Khlong Lat Mayom is a medium-sized floating market located really close to Bangkok. It's a really local market and you might be one of the very few foreigners around. The main market itself. I paid 8 Thousand Baht for private boat around 222 $. The tour
was too boring and waste of time because the market not like the past full of
people selling on the boats ,now the people sell the products between zones and
the price too high and most of the product low quality.
In my opinion do wate your time and money in this trip, If you looking for Floating Market visit the floating market close to Pattaya .

It’s good to visit if you haven’t been to a floating market. There is nothing much to see but plenty of food and gifts to shop for. The boat tour is 100 baht per person and takes you to a temple. It’s not a scenic tour but good to see the local houses and stuff too
