The Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort is lauded for its exceptional service, with guests frequently commending the friendly staff and the convenience of the complimentary shuttle boat. Set along the river, its tranquil location offers respite from the city while remaining accessible to attractions. The resort's atmosphere is described as elegant and welcoming, though some find it to bear a hint of datedness. While the rooms are praised for their cleanliness and space, they are not immune to the bustling noises of the city. The amenities, including a luxurious pool and diverse dining options, are popular among guests, yet some warn of the dining being overpriced.

February 8th was my 500th night at this hotel over more than 30 years. Simply fabulous experience every time I visit. The hotel has variously been Peninsula, Regent, Marriott and now Anantara Riverside. It is very rewarding to find that standards have been maintained and in some cases improved over those more than three decades.

Mocha & Muffins(formerly Numero Uno and MaaLaa Cafe} is so much more than a cake shop. The breakfast and lunch offerings are exquisite and they offer superb Mango Smoothies which I find difficult to resist. Tom Yum Goong and Singapore noodles are two particular favaurites and both really delicious. The ultimate success of this little haven within the wonderful hotel is secured by the kind attentive staff, notably Khun Candy and Khun Ni - remarkable attention to detail and clients.

Whilst mentioning staff, I must recognise the superb support provided to me by Khun Budsara at Anantara Customer Support. Always more than expectations.

In reality I have found all the staff in all positions and locations within BKK Riverside to be of the highest service and support. Everything seems to just work and offer service at least matching and generally exceeding expectations.

The hotel's reservation process, arrival, and departure experiences, as well as the guest room comfort and cleanliness, highlight the dedication to maintaining a top-notch environment for guests.

Various on-site facilities, including Loy Nam Bar, Riverside Terrace, Longtail by the River, and Mocha & Muffins, mentioned above, all present a very favourable image of the hotel.

A little mention for the shuttle boat service, now restored to a half hourly service throughout the day. A really enjoyable way to start a visit into downtown BKK. Take the boat to Saphan Taksin sky train station and speed to the city in clean fast carriages. As an alternative you can take a different shuttle to the incredible IconSiam - Asia's largest shopping experience.

Of course I will return in the future and am already planning to start my second 500 in Auguat/September.

We traveled for a birthday treat, 3 nights in Bangkok at the Anantara Riverside then moving on to Khao Lac. This hotel is classy, well arranged and efficient, from check in which feels special with herbal Tea, sweets and flowers, to check out, it was an absolute pleasure to be staying there.

We were give an upgrade for my partners birthday which was very nice as her birthday was not until we would have left for Khao Lak, the Junior Suite had views of the City and river.

Breakfast was superb, so much choice, from fried eggs to your choice of Noodle Soup, Sushi, or curry, coffee served at the table by a lovely team of staff.

The river boat taxi provided free of charge by the hotel takes you to the entry of the city, the sky train, taxi boats, taxis, tuc tucs are all easily accessible as soon as you go ashore, a beautiful touch, runs every 20 mins roughly, with last boat leaving the city at 12 midnight. There are lots of restaurants market stalls and shops straight off the boat and the experience itself is great, it’s and old style rice boat with lots going on around you.

The hotel pool is a real tropical beauty spot, look out for the Monitor Lizard who swims the connected ponds, he/she is very tame and fascinates children and grown ups alike. The hotel bars and restaurants are top notch, ranking very highly as top spots. Given the position of the hotel, next to the river, with canals running through the grounds you need to be prepared for mosquitoes. We bought a tin of fly spray for the room and wore Deet, still got a couple of bites out and about. The hotel does attempt to control them but they were prevalent. All in all a great base in Bangkok and we would certainly stay at this hotel or with this brand again.

My experience here made me understand why Anantara Riverside is a famous choice amongst tourirsts who seek for value of money. First is the hardware. Even the hotel building itself is more than 20 years, it has been newly renovated and everything does well function. Second, their service well clarify the star ranking of the hotel. Staff are friendly, calm, attentive and helpful. Third, differentiation. I have never seen any hotel arrange Thai Traditional Performance to entertain guests next to the swimming pool every evening!! The gym is also opened 24/7. And there are many more services that make this 5 star hotel different from others.

One thing to remark to management team, I would like to compliment K.Fai, a male staff who took care of the riverside restaurant indoor wing nearby the swimming pool during breakfast on Sunday 16th Feb 20. Everytime I saw him walk pass my table, K.Fai always had a smile on his face and he greeted every single new guest that walked into the breakfast area and made sure to offer them tea or coffee before they went to grab breakfast. He was very cheerful, friendly, attentive and caring. That morning, I brought my own avocado to eat with salad. Once K.Fai saw the avocado on my table, he offered to have it cut. After served, I found out that my avocado was still too young so, disappointedly, I told him to just throw it away. K.Fai disppeared and then a moment later came back to me with another plate of ripe avocado saying that he had one to offer!!!! I did not expect this at all because I did not see avocado available on the buffet line!!! This attitude is extremely impressive and I could not describe how thankful I was. Your hotel is very lucky to have staff like him as a team member. I'm sure he is one worth a recognition. Thumbs up!! 👍👍👍👍

My Wife and I had a very pleasant Stay during our 15 Quarantine, everything was handled very Professionally by the excessively friendly staff and everyone was very accommodating to our needs and wishes .

The food was very good and Progressively got better and better as we passed various stages (Covid tests ) during our stay here.
The rooms are very nice and spacious and having a balcony made a huge difference considering our confinement .
My wife and booked two Adjacent Deluxe rooms which in our opinion was perfect as it allowed us privacy when needed during our 15 day confinement with the freedom to see and spend time with each other as we pleased following our first Covid test.

There are two outdoor recreation areas that one gains access to following successful Covid Tests that have outdoor seating options where one can order various non alcoholic drinks(smoothies, cappuccino, shakes etc) as well as snacks and starters which where all delicious .

Do take Advantage of the massages that are offered during your stay as it relaxes and helps to break up the monotony.

Tips:
1) Bring along any Snacks, sweets or candies you might desire during your 15 stay

2)Bring your own media Streaming device or even game consoles if desired as one can Easley connect to the TV’s and it makes a huge difference in passing the time .

3)Bring some detergent to wash some of your own clothing in the sink as hotel prices are quite high for this service .

What bothered us:
Only thing we wished they improved on would be how much time we where allowed to spend out of our rooms.
The 1 1/2 hours felt to short and would say an extra 30 mins and being able to split up said time in to two session would make a big difference.

The Plastic booties/bags all the Guests have to wear on/over any worn footwear are pointless and annoying and completely useless in preventing a potential Viral spread (none of the Hotel Staff frequenting the same areas as the guests wore these FYI)
A simple liquid walkthrough disinfecting bath station used for similar purposes would be a much better and convenient option .

All in all we would highly recommend the Anantara for your Quarantine stay in Thailand .

We stayed here for 5 nights in room 433 which has a larger balcony with views of city and river. Location is great away from main area and the hotel have their own river boat taking you to Sathorn Pier. From there we regularly travelled out to explore using BST or river buses. Use the orange flag boat only 15 bhat and good fun to explore up and down river to main tourist spots. We stayed B&B and good selection at breakfast. Pool is large and plenty of sunbeds no matter what time so need to reserve beds early. There is shopping centre across the way from hotel lobby with selection of restaurants and coffee shops. Will definitely return to this hotel if back in Bangkok.

Wanted to share my experience with others that are making decisions for their December quarantines. First of all, make sure your trip is all set and good to go from every aspect because the hotel has a non refundable policy with no flexibility even if you tried to cancel the next day.

The good news is that once you are able to make the trip, I felt this this is the best decision ever! I don't t feel so "quarantined" here. The hotel is beautiful, offering beautiful views of the river, gardens and pool. I love the sound of the water fountain. Very zen. There is a price to freedom:) and we get more freedom here than in other hotels. From the balcony from arrival day, the 1.5 alloted time for walking on the grounds (this is double the amount of some ASQ hotels) after the first covid test. If you took covid test prior to flying they will test you on Day 3 and you get to walk on Day 4 which is a couple of days before other hotels (typically test on day 5 for everyone whether or not you had the covid test before flying). Food is mostly delicious and fresh, offering plenty of choices and ample portions though a few dishes can improved or be eliminated as they seemed very processed, frozen and then reheated. The desserts are the best! Lunch and dinners are better than breakfast. The 1.5 hr alloted time are enjoyable and you are allowed to order food by the river. Because the area is spacious they are able to accommodate alot of guests in each time slot, so it feels relatively 'normal' when you see people around you. The staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating, at the same time ensuring we follow the quarantine policy. Great job! I was able to borrow a yoga map and a fire stick (for 500 baht). Laundry costs 1500 for 10 pieces or 3000 for 30. Staff can help you buy basics from nearby shops. Consistency great service all around.

I’m currently in my 5th day of quarantine here and I can’t rate it highly enough. If you mind is prepared for ASQ, you have to look for how to do this the best way and my strongest recommendation to anyone is pay a little extra to get a hotel with a balcony and with a nice view if the budget allows. Sitting on the balcony here overlooking the river here is so peaceful and makes all the difference and it has actually been a welcome enforced relaxation break. I couldn’t have been looked after better and the food here is excellent. Far too much but not complaining and the nursing staff checking on you and housekeeping deliveries all faultless. I’ve got an exercise bike in my room which was a little expensive but I think is worth it and needed for all the excess calories and I’ve got a yoga map and able to do online exercise classes. Good internet was vital for me and was a concern that I’d be stuck if didn’t live up to expectations but it has been excellent. If I could suggest anything, it would just be to have a more precise meal time option, i.e. half hour rather than hourly or a microwave as if busy with something, food can get cold especially as it’s usually early, but that’s minor and I appreciate it’s not easy to look after everyone and I’ve very happy here and would highly recommend

We’ve returned to this hotel many times as it has always provided good value and is a little bit of a retreat in a bustling city. Hotel is located on the Chao Praya River and is approximately a 45 minute taxi ride from the airport. For a city hotel the facilities are excellent with a large pool area and plenty of sun beds. The hotel provides a free shuttle boat service across the river to the BTS Sky Train station.

We stayed in a junior suite which we very much enjoyed. The room was large and airy with a big comfortable bed, lounge area and full bathroom. All amenities were of a very good standard and worked well.

One of the reasons we have returned to this hotel is its breakfast buffet spread which we honestly feel is one of the best we have ever come across and we travel a fair bit. The buffet spread ranges from your standard fayre up to what you might consider and evening meal and the choice on offer is truly amazing. There really is not enough time to sample all the delights! There are a number of restaurants in this hotel should you not wish to venture out.

The staff at this hotel are consistently wonderful and nothing is too much trouble.

Our only negative point is the price of soft drinks (around £4 each) which we feel is unnecessarily expensive. The 7 eleven across the road sells a bottle for 50p and we feel this is a bit greedy and is overly taking advantage of the guests.

All in all we love this hotel and couldn’t think of a better city hotel for a short stop.

We had a one day stop over in Bangkok, we are frequent visitors to Thailand and normally stay in the heart of Bangkok this trip for a change we decided to stay by the riverside at the Anantara riverside. The hotel is Beautiful set by the riverside with an amazing pool area which makes you forget that you are in Bangkok. The rooms are great size and very comfortable and have great sound insulation from the very busy Bangkok river traffic. Breakfast gives many options from European, Asian and American options and the hotel offers a free river shuttle service to the business district of Bangkok. There are many restaurants options within the hotel we particularly love Trader Vics on the river bank. All the staff where very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable

Send your email directly to Anantara Riverside. It also depends if you had booked the hotel directly or via an online travel agency (OTA). I have no issues reaching out to Anantara. Remember to quote your booking reference number
