It's my first time in Bangkok, and it's a good thing I got to stay here. It's walking distance to dining and shopping places, both local (the best mango sticky rice!) and international (Starbucks lol). Some areas of the room need refurbishing and the room is a bit smaller to other hotels I've stayed at the same price range, but I got good night's rest and a great breakfast so nothing really to complain about.

Breakfast - crispy bacon? Check. Smoked salmon? Check. Omelette station? Two thumbs up, especially for probably the fastest omelette turnaround of all the hotels I've stayed in.

If you're particular about the water pressure of the shower like me, you will not be disappointed. The great hair conditioner is worth mentioning, too, lol.

Only thing I disliked was when I checked the coffee cups in the room, one had a coffee stain/splatter. It's a good thing I bring my own dishwashing detergent and sterilizing tablets to wash cups/glasses/cutlery in hotel rooms before using.

We stayed as a family for just one night at the Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit, but it was our first ever stay at Bangkok and a really unforgettable one too.

Firstly, I would like to recognize the excellent quality of staff that I had engaged with before and during our stay. Before our stay, the loyalty manager (Natcha) and duty managers (Jittra & Peary) provided thorough clarification about our stay, privileges as a Bonvoy Platinum member and assistance with the reservation. Upon arrival straight from the airport, we were warmly greeted by Thanya (Woon), efficiently checked in, and personally escorted to our 2-bedroom Executive Suite at 4105, even one level above the Executive Lounge. We really appreciated Thanya's warm welcome and adding that personal touch to showing us around the suite.

The 80+ sqm suite is quite large for Bangkok, stunningly laid out with two separate bathrooms , spotless clean, and offered superb panoramic views of the Bangkok skyline. A few special treats prepared for our special occasion and a welcome card from the GM (Thomas) was also much appreciated. The 3 of us ended up with 3 beds to choose from, so obviously there was one extra vacant bed that would fit a family of four very comfortably.

The Executive Lounge was large with a long stretch of seats facing the window so guests can enjoy the CBD views from high above. Food variety at the Lounge and the Breakfast restaurant was very good, and service by staff at both venues were friendly and accommodating.

The location of the hotel was quite convenient. From the Hotel, we walked 5min to Thong Lor station and took the Skytrain (for the first time) to Chit Lom, where we prayed at the famous Erawan Shrine and then took a short stroll to the nearby large Central World shopping complex. It was just before Chinese New Year, so there were plenty of festive decorations and food delights to choose from in the mall.

At night time, the Octave Rooftop Bar on level 45 was beautiful, iconic, and offered an ambient atmosphere for couples or groups to listen to music and chat.

Overall, the Marriott Sukhumvit is an excellent hotel, with warm and friendly staff members, and great recognition of elite Bonvoy benefits.

We had a brilliant one night stay and hope to have the opportunity to stay more nights at the Hotel in the future. We also hope that everyone at the hotel is safe and well!

Definitely visit the roof top bar.Amazing view at night! Club level access was very much worth the additional price. especially when a great breakfast, dinner selection and alcoholic drinks in the evening come free when you have Club level access. Didn’t have to worry about finding food when you were just too tired after a day of sightseeing and shopping. It is about maybe 20 blocks or so from Terminal 21, a huge mall with amazing shopping selections even a huge section for souvenirs. Worth a visit. So it is a bit out of the way of you plan on walking somewhere, but there is a train station less than a 5 minute walk from hotel. Traffic is horrible in Bangkok so expect about a good 30 minute plus drive to Chinatown, Grand Palace, Wat Pho. Even longer on the ride home. Overall, great value for the money and will definitely stay there again.

This is the worst five star hotel ever. I have been staying in three different types of rooms for a week from standard to executive and a 2 bed suite, which is second best that cost about 350 US dollar per night.

1. I was not able to use executive lounge, which I paid doubled the amount than standard room rate for, because the hotel said it is under maintainance (this was not notified in advance).

2. Room service food comes cold and the hotels said because they lack personnel - causing delay in delivery.

3. Shower equipment is not working properly at suite room causing water to fall from the ceiling.

4. Manager level staffers are very unfriendly. For the inconveniences I appeal, they asks "what I want from them" instead of suggesting a solution.

5. Standard rooms are not clean. There are so many dust in the room. Executive and suite rooms are comparatively well taken care of. But this is something that a five star hotel should satisfy by default.

6. Beverages are bad. I think they serve cheap juices that they purchase from a local market. They are not made with 100% fruits. Coffee is dripped from a automatic coffee machine, not a pulled espresso shot.

7. The taste of foods is average, but they lack variety. I basically had to eat egg, rice noodle and fruits for a week, everyday.

8. Card key to my room doesnt work sometimes. I had to go to reception to change my card three times.

Overall, The Marriot Hotel Sukhumvit Bangkok has a lot to improve.

Many of my friends ask me why do I always stay at the Bangkok Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit and my reasons are that the Staff is attentive, professional and friendly resulting in a 5* service and guest satisfaction.

The Rooms in the Hotel and in the Executive Apartments are spacious with a nice decor and sparkling cleaned .The beds provide a "sleep like a baby " experience . In the Hotel Rooms the Bathroom has a window that allows you to have a view over BKK while you enjoy a shower or in the bathtub a "bubbly" bath ...this is top.
The breakfast buffet is something not to miss , in my opinion one of the best ones I've tried .
I'm a Fan of your Benedict Eggs, Thank you Chef .

If you like Sunsets you shouldn't miss the Rooftop Bar - Octave ( happy hour between 17:00 & 19:00 :) ) go there , have a drink , listen to some good Chill or Deep House music, while enjoying a fantastic sunset view over Bangkok .

The last time I was at The Marriott was December.. Christmas Spirit was all over . Decoration of the CC&Co with the Ginger Bread cookies and involving the local community by having children from the school making GInger Snowman's and Pine Trees to use on the decoration was a good initiative.

About the Team .
A special shout out to The Director of Rooms Mr. Steven Schmidt , Khun-NatCha ( Loyalty Manager ( I ️ the decoration you did in my room) , Front Office Team ,The Duty Manager, Khun Mod (Octave Assistant Manager,) the Team From the 57th Street Restaurant , the Always smiling Ladies From Chocolate, Cake & CO , Housekeeping Team ..just to mention some.

It's the People that makes the difference and you have a great Team.
I have stayed a few times at this property , ( normally I stay at the Executive Apartments) and every time that I come back the Marriott Team always makes me feel like coming Home...And that.. it's the best feeling you can have !

Thank you for the fantastic hospitality and see you soon :)

Stayed for one night during the weekday, the hotel seemed very packed due to the launch of promotion. Check in was efficient, staff was really nice. Being the Platinum Elite member, I was offered with the benefits and club lounge access which was super nice. However, every time when I entered the club lounge, nobody bothered to accompany me. I have to admit that I seemed a bit lost as the lounge space was shared with the all day dining with other guests. The staff could have done better in accommodating the guest or otherwise, have the designated area for lounge access where it can be obviously seen. The staff attentive needs to be improved big time - this includes in breakfast area as well.

During my stay, I noticed the Anne Simonine spa promotion at the check-in counter, which was priced at 1,350 THB but only to find out at the spa that they do not use Anne Simonine products for this promotion. This is a false advertisement and I was a little disappointed given the property is branded Mariott.

Room is in a good size and nicely decorated, but I found the bedding is a little bit too soft, causing me a back pain. I heard the hotel is undergoing the facelift, which I believe it should look better once it has been done.

The location is really good and convenience. At this stage, I am hesitate to come back but hopefully I get to see the improvement in the near future.

Dear OakeyTT, Thank you very much for choosing the Bangkok Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit for your recent stay in Bangkok. We appreciate your positive feedback about your arrival experience and the friendliness of our team-members. However, we are very concerned to hear about your experience in our club lounge, please accept our sincerest apologizes for any shortfall in the service attentiveness. Rest assured that we take this comment very serious and retrain our team-members to be more attentive. We are pleased that you were satisfied with the room size and the decoration and we have taken note on your comments about the bedding. Allow us to investigate on your comments with the Anne Semonin Spa in our hotel and refer back you. This is the trickiest Marriott hotel I have ever been to so far in my life. The hotel management only considers customers’ dimension as cost and revenues only.

First, with very cheap rate with a little text saying you will not get any benefits of Marriott Bonvoy by booking this promotion, and those high status will get shocked that they wouldn’t even get the breakfast.

Secondly, they reduced the cost. Afternoon tea which used to be included in disappeared without even informing. Toiletries given have only a few; otherwise, you need to request. Yes! At the 5 stars hotel and you will still need to ask for slippers!?

In addition, the turndown service is only available until 6 pm, come on the sun sometimes I hasn’t even set when they come in. Do you know turndown is?

Thirdly, they made the suite room only available to book on the day after tomorrow. They will sadly tell the room is unavailable, so you wouldn’t be entitled to upgrade. You see how tricky it is? Suite room will never be available for upgrade with this system, and yet it doesn’t invalidate the terms and conditions. They said I could use an SNA to secure the room, but wait the hotel can reject SNA and the room is already cheap. Why would I spend more money here or even time as a hell here?

They will not give anything to you even though you come back here often. It is a nightmare having a long stay dealing with management problems. Laundry services are only available 3 out of 7 days.

Dear patphz, Many thanks for choosing the Bangkok Marriott Sukhumvit for your stay and for sharing your comments on TripAdvisor. On our hotel website we do offer several rates and packages, which all indicate clearly the rate details, the rate you have mentioned does state the rate exclusions. It is the choice of the individual traveler to choose the most convenient rate for his stay. Allow us to inform you that Suite Night Award requests are not be rejected by the hotel, the acceptance of SNA’s is an automatic system based process. To be compliant with the current hygiene protocols we have decided to provide certain amenities on request only, our friendly team-members are happy to assist you in that matter around the clock when staying with us. We are already in direct contact with you and we have explained you the Marriott Bonvoy Benefits in detail, we will be happy to evaluate this further in a personal conversation. If you wish to stay in a specific room category, we do recommend you to make your reservation in this category, as room upgrades depending solely on availability at the time of check-in as per the Marriott Bonvoy Terms & Conditions. We do thank you for your patronage and for your understanding. Best regards, Steven Schmid Director of Rooms

great location by BTS. I arrived around 7 am on Jan 12th. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly that gave me a temporary room before my suites was ready. So I can refresh and relax a little bit after a long fight. I much appreciate that. I felt that the staff at EL are more trained and friendly than the restaurant in the lobby. everything was perfect and I would love to be back again. There was only one little thing. Before I checked out I requested three laundry bags as I have an ongoing trip to Koh Samui I want to separate my clean, dirty clothing and shoes. But the housekeeper refused to provide that. I do not know why. Maybe it is my problem I have OCD. that's minor. overall it was a pleasant stay.

A multinational hotel company like Marriott should be leading in many areas but seems to be their only concern is just money.
The very poor impresión with the usage of plastics in this hotel giving plastic straws to all drinks in their lounge is not acceptable . When every concerned FNB company is trying their best to help the environment Mariott just try in their marketing and PR but in reality is a shame .
Besides the usage of plastic straws , the entire flowers displayed at the lobby and main staircase is all made of plastic ! So ugly and so cheap , too !

Inconsistencies all over the hotel and company. U go to the executive lounge and u must wear another plastic glove to help urself at the little buffet displayed . But you go to the breakfast and there is no need for gloves .

The breakfast is one of the poorest we have tried in all Mariott hotels we have been . They should go a visit Renascence in Phuket and learn .

Another poor action is the control of the entrance of the hotel where cars can be running with engine on for long long time waiting while you are breathing pollution , while many other hotels concerned with pollution advise all cars to stop engine while waiting .

The terrace bar at the top of the building should call a designer and change those uncomfortable wooden seats wzout armrest if they want this place to be more attractive and comfortable .

Not recomendable for me and won't come back again.
