I came to Cambodia to see this temple and it lived up to expectations. We had a guide who pointed out things we might have missed.

Timing is important. Sunrise is popular with Western tourists who seek great photos. By late morning there is a second wave who have had a lazy breakfast and then set out. We arrived between these two peaks and it wasn't too busy.

This is a lifetime bucket list kind of place.   It’s in out of the way Siem Reap but it’s certainly worth a special trip to visit.  The complex is huge with many temples but we saw the three most popular temples - Angkor Wat, the biggest and best maintained, and Ta Prohm, the temple in which huge spung trees have retaken the temples over the past 400 years or so, and finally Bayon temple with its numerous buildings with many faces and intricate stone wall carvings.  Ta Prohm temple is where the 2001 movie Tomb Raiders was filmed.  If you can, it is also really worthwhile climbing the steps to the highest of 3 levels at Angkor Wat.

It's a little confusing on the listings of Trip Advisor's "Things to Do" in Siem Reap.  There are listings for individual temples which can each take several hours - that is, there is Angkor Wat (the biggest and best preserved), Ta Prohm temple (with the amazing tree growth), and also Bayon temple (with numerous buildings with many intricate stone wall carvings).  Then there is the listing for Angkor Thom, which means "Angkor Great City" and which encompasses the entire Angkor complex including Bayon Temple and Angkor Wat as part of it.  Be sure to have a tour guide and stay hydrated!

Smaller than Angkor yet still super impressive where one can see how time has overtaken man’s efforts all those 100s of years ago .
Just stunning to see how nature crawling back over the temple with massive roots and trunks creating stunning visuals themselves interspersed with the temple .. loved it

This is a lifetime bucket list kind of place.   It’s in out of the way Siem Reap but it’s certainly worth a special trip to visit and we in fact planned a 17 day tour of Southeast Asia with Angkor Thom as the central driver.  The complex is huge with many temples but we saw the three most popular temples - Angkor Wat, the biggest and best maintained, Ta Prohm, the temple in which huge spung trees have retaken the temples over the past 400 years or so, and finally Bayon temple with its numerous buildings with many intricate stone wall carvings.

There are listings for individual temples which can each take several hours to 1/2 a day. There is Angkor Wat (the biggest and best preserved), Ta Prohm temple (with the amazing tree growth), and also Bayon temple (with numerous buildings with many intricate stone wall carvings).  Then there is the listing for Angkor Thom, which means "Angkor Great City" and which encompasses the entire Angkor complex including Bayon Temple and Angkor Wat as part of it.  Get a tour guide and stay hydrated! Just fyi!

The information on display was both interesting and informative. At the entrance, there was background information about the person who had set up the Museum. He has quite a story to tell. We were there for approximately 1.5hours. I was particularly interested to read about some of the children who were injured by landmines and to see what they are doing now.

A bucket list must! You have made it to Cambodia, surely this is why you came? Note: the ticket office is separate to the park, consider buying your ticket the evening before if you want to see the sun rise at Angkor Wat. Be sure to get there as early as you can, its worth it. You will need transportation around the park as it is VAST. Wear comfortable shoes, a hat and be sure to have sunscreen and plenty of water. Do a little research beforehand to get the most of the trip.
Yes the place gets busy and the locals want to sell you their wares but for most people this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to immerse yourself into something totally unique.

I am so glad we were recommended to visit. It was an hour tour in total, and during this time our wonderful guide told us everything there was to know about these extraordinary HeroRATs, and included lots of humour which made it all the more engaging.

It was informative without overloading you with information. The demonstration was great, it was cool to see the little guy in action, and to see exactly how it would work on the field with the handlers.

We got to meet and hold Glen! This was the highlight for us as we got told all about him and where he had been working and how many mines he had found etc. The handler was super friendly.

APOPO does such amazing work, and it was fantastic to learn all about it in as much detail as we did within the tour. So worth it!

We visited pub street on 3 occasions during our holiday.we found a good choice of restaurants and bars.Menu options were very much the same in all and prices varied a little.
There is a market and many stalls selling clothing, souvenirs etc.Massage parlours with 3-10 dollar prices for services.
One problem we encountered was paying in dollars they were very fussy about the condition of the notes and I had them frequently returned for other notes. Most places wanted cash as will all market stalls.
You may receive change in dollars and riels
Tuk tuk drivers are quite annoying all around the streets but can be passed by with a firm no thanks.Overall we enjoyed our time spent there and found the food and drinks to be of good quality.

You skip the ANM at your own risk - the two main temples and one or two minor ones go first, but then you need to come here to see what was IN the temples and how they relate. (Pedagogy is different, but I recommend going here after the temples.) I find audioguides too restrictive; I recommend going by oneself and stopping where inspired. It is an expensive, commercial place, but the Jayavarman VII statue in the end is worth the ticket price already. The excellent shop with a great selection at fair and still cheap prices is its own attraction and very much worth visiting even if for some reason you don't want to enter the museum.

Exploring Prasat Preah Khan: A Majestic Temple in Cambodia is a captivating journey into the heart of Cambodia's rich cultural heritage. This remarkable temple, built during the Khmer Empire's golden age, showcases a fusion of Hindu and Buddhist architectural styles. The temple complex, adorned with intricate carvings and surrounded by lush greenery, exudes a sense of spirituality and tranquility. Thanks to extensive restoration efforts, visitors can now experience the grandeur of Prasat Preah Khan and appreciate its historical and cultural significance. A visit to this awe-inspiring temple is a must for anyone exploring Cambodia's ancient wonders.
