This very modern hotel is located very close to Hakodate station and overlooking the harbour. Our room was a good size and tastefully decorated and furnished and the beds were particularly comfortable. The highlight of the hotel for me was the baths, which were fantastic, particularly the open air outdoor bath with the chill wind whistling past and views over the town. The other highlight was the breakfast buffet, which offered all types of Japanese and western alternatives, and was one of the most comprehensive buffets I have seen during my travels. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this very reasonably priced hotel staffed by very pleasant and helpful people.

A well-located hotel. Comfortable, very modern rooms and friendly staff. The breakfast service is very good if prone to be crowded with waiting times - but worth the delay. The (potential) downside is that the hotel has no restaurant thus dinner is not an option - frustrating given what they offer at breakfast.

Room tip: Great location and close to the key sites in Hakodate

This is a modern hotel with an onsen at the rooftop overlooking the bay and Mt Hakodate. The breakfast had a good spread and there were sparkling wines. The quality of the food can be improved but that was on a very strict expectation. They gave us a voucher which we used on a room spray which smells great. We had the massage but the quality was just alright. The room was fairly large and had a good view.

Currently staying here. Superb staff, facilities and location. Superior double on 8th floor. Very comfortable, new, super clean and god amenities. Breakfast is an over the top Sunday type brunch. Everything from sausages to Champaign to sashimi. The spa is large and takes up the two top floors of the property. The location isi very good. Walking distance to all major attractions. If you book a premium floor you will get an added benefit at breakfast. Individual cooked rice and sushi box. I can pretty critical of small things - in that vein = I wish they had towels in the spa rather than using those from my room and a couple of more pods for the Nespresso. . But that being said, just ask for as many as you want when you check in . You will not be disappointed with this property. Oh almost forgot, its just a couple of minutes walk from the JR station.

Room tip: There is a coop supermarket within 7 minutes walking distance. Hakodate tram is three minutes walk.

We stayed at Century Marina for our first night in Hokkaido and originally chose it for its proximity to most of the sites we wanted to see in Hakodate. It's just a few minute walk from the train station with plenty of sidewalks so pulling our suitcases was no issue. The hotel also has a large parking lot if you choose to drive. It's also just a few minute walk from the warehouse district and the older area up the hill where a lot of historical embassies and churches are.

The hotel's breakfast buffet is an experience itself with an extensive spread of both Japanese and Western food options. You will reserve a time slot when checking in, but even then you should expect a 10-20 minute wait in the morning to get your table, so its best to go up before your reserved time.

This hotel also has one of the best rooftop onsen I've seen, with wonderful views of the whole marina and hill. When booking I didn't realize there was a hot springs so this was a nice surprise.

Our room was right next to the elevator but very quiet and clean. This is a newer hotel too so everything felt very fresh and well-maintained. We checked in using Japanese, but the hotel has check-in info packets and signs in English so this is a good option for non-Japanese speaking guests as well.
