Her recommendation was one of the highlights of my time in the Yucatán. I took full advantage of the hour and a half Mayan massage with the aloe vera banana leaf add on. It was like nothing I have ever had!
Mary, the woman who massaged me , had the strongest healing hands I’ve ever experienced. Her knowledge to find knots, loosen toxins and help restore my body to a more proper lymphatic and muscular constitution was incredible ‼️
At times, the pressure was so intense, all I could do was laugh in pain but after a short time, when she stopped, I could feel that my circulation was improved, my body was more expansive and my joy more abundant❣️

They will pick you up from resort and take you back! Very reasonable prices! It was a 90mn full body massage, with essential oils and the perfect balance between deep-tissues and relaxing massage.
She brought her table at my place, alongside with nice relaxing music.

My husband and I came on our honeymoon to negril and the first thing we look for are the amenities. Vassa had great reviews so I decided to book here and I am so glad we did. The spa services went above and beyond my expectations. We both got 2 deep tissues massages (one when we arrived and another the day we left ) and LOVED IT. we get massages on a monthly basis so we know who’s got good hands and who doesn’t. Cheryl and Malvina Are two of the most professional, hardworking and strongest hands I have ever experienced. In all my years of getting massages these two ladies are the best hands I’ve experienced ever. We loved it so much and thank you ladies for going above and beyond

The program was thoughtfully designed and implemented. I am not Vegan. From my palate, the food was good, on some days not to my liking and on some days excellent. I never did acquire a taste for the morning smoothie. I was a little fidgety at the beginning with the early morning mantra (now at home I am mantra/meditating daily). Yoga class was challenging physically. I'm not as flexible as I once was and the floor is wood plank (bring a good yoga mat, right Maddie ;-). Yoga was guided and attended to our chakras as well. Very educational and helpful when trying to attain a posture (and the why of it). The music and song are extra-ordinary. As the saying goes, 'dance like no one is watching'. The same can be said for playing music and singing; and, this is the place to do it. I may have mastered the Triangle... ;-). Personally, the sound healing and the breathwork ceremonies moved me deeply. The temazcal (sweatlodge) was very good; although, the first of the 4 rounds was fairly long and I doubt I would have made the full circle had the other 3 been as long. They were not. I was unsure about the Ayahuasca and I think that held me back a bit (purging, what?). I did come away with a feeling of having been "cleansed". The Intention/Question I brought to the ceremony remained murky. And yes, there were hallucinogenic moments (much like a period of time in my youth... ;-). After 7 nights (day after the ayahuasca), both my sister and I thought that perhaps we'd had enough. We did decide to complete the retreat and thank goodness we did. I had an epiphany on the 9th day after our "talking" circle. Lastly, the Ice Bath. Fantastic. 5 minutes is not really a long time. And, you do not want to miss the closing ceremony. Renee and Josh hold a very safe space. Rest assured that you are in an authentic atmosphere of care and caring. Do avail yourself of one-on-one time with Renee or Josh. Come to the retreat with an open-mind. Be willing to step outside your comfort zone. There may be "hard". Take time to reflect on what triggers you and your response to that (this was good learning for me). Dress comfortably. Light layering works well. Good flip flops are handy as you keep taking them on and off. The room my sister and I shared had a private bathroom and separate spaces for sleeping. It had a fan, which we needed. A couple of the nights were cool. The centre was a place actually set within the jungle. It was not far from a main road either. The days are full. You do have off-time but, you do not have time to "go to town" for a few hours; and, the retreat is meant to be an immersive experience. As we sat in the airport waiting for our flight back to Canada, we both said 'once was enough'. I've been home now for 2 weeks. Violeta was my go-to for massages, but she no longer open.
While there are other excellent options for beach massages I prefer—always—to support women-owned and operated businesses. To be clear I mean the business and not the masseuse. Happy with all genders.
Owner Marisela Perez Castro and her talented staff offer deep-tissue massage with reflexology in their intimate (2 tables only) bright pink tent. The massage is one hour, and the current cost is 800 pesos or $50 USD (tip not included).
