Once a shopping center, this three-story entertainment complex and raunchy red-light district is now one of the world’s most notorious adult-only entertainment zones. Be greeted by glowing neon signs, alluring bar girls, and vendors selling peculiar and interesting adult entertainment goods. Pick your poison—there are go-go bars, strip clubs, and ladyboy bars. If you're hungry for some actual food, there are plenty of vendors selling Thai street food like som tam and tom yum, too. Well i am confused. Wikipedia says the nana plaza "occupies a three-story commercial building" with go go bars and such. I mean sure, theres a very small 3 storie commercial building called nana plaza. It houses a burger king, a starbucks, a western union and thats about it. No bars. The soi 4 alley has about 75 meters worth of bars and massage shops. That "largest adult playground" sign is nowhere to be seen. This is not what i imagined in the slightest. Very seedy and dirty, as you'd expect. A ladyboy forcebly grabbed me by the arm, otherwise the girls are pretty respectful.

I have never experienced as much hostility as an Indian here than anywhere else in Thailand. In general, I understand there are negative stereotypes about Indian patrons and bad behavior from many Indian tourists. However, patrons should be judged on their behavior and demeanor, not all painted with the same negative brush. One of my first negative experiences here was walking around and looking for a nice clean establishment in the plaza.
While most places were welcoming and friendly, with many beautiful women, there were several bars that are very racist and look down on indian/black patrons. An example are some of the "Rainbow" establishments. As I was enjoying myself and my solo night, I noticed that as I approached this particular bar that the security had pulled the curtains closed. And when I came a bit closer, he aggressively shouted that its "members only" (clearly an excuse to deny entry due to my race). I was already fairly sure this was a rubbish excuse, but to make sure, I walked around the corner and waited to see if other people were allowed in. It wasn't long before a group of white men were let in no questions asked.
And this theme became more and more apparent - when its a potential white patron, they'll immediately act like they are royalty and bend over backwards for them, and let them in with no scrutiny. They are generally treated significantly better than other races, which is pathetic and small minded in 2024. Some of the general security walking around are also very hostile, getting loud with people over misunderstandings about where you can eat/smoke etc. This made me feel like garbage on my holiday and I suspect many tourists who aren't typical white farangs will get similar treatment.
This is just SOME of the stupidity by security guards and certain bars in Nana Plaza. Ignoring the blatant racism, things can get even worse from here.
The "adult playground" is really just a black hole where everyone is trying to extract money from you while providing as little service as possible. The prices have already gone up significantly, from the drinks themselves, the girls, the bar fines, a rubbish 10% "card fee", and the constant begging from waiters and mamasans for drinks.
They expect patrons to drink fast and keep going like its a farm and we are cattle - and at the end, pay 1000's for a quick romp. And if you do pay all the expenses, the girls are very quick to try and return to the bar rather than spend the allocated time you've already (over)paid for. They always say its 2 hours, but if you get done quickly and still want to interact with your lady, there's little to no chance that's going to happen.
She will rush to come back to the bar or go home and sleep because they've made their money for the night... it doesn't matter how much money you've spent on her, the bar, the bar fines, mamasans drinks, waiters drinks, credit card fees and more. Despite all this, Nana Plaza can be fun if you're willing to swallow your pride and be treated like a second-tier if you are not white.

Well visiting the Nana plaza this year, I noticed the drink prices had all gone up substantially and the Nana plaza bars are more rundown than ever. Bathrooms were extremely dirty. It’s not worth paying the extra money for drinks to go to this venue. I think it’s time to start spending some of their profits on some upgrades!.

If your into that thing! I walked down to get to a restaurant. Very awkward solo female. Bars, ladies, men and very sleazy. As I said if your into that sort of thing! Very busy Friday night. At the time of C-19, you will need to take tests to get into some places which are done at the door and results ready in a few minutes.

Bad experience at Wonderland.
Imagine a restaurant that forces you to swallow your starter, pushes you to order the main course, and already asks you if you are going to take the dessert. Sorry but I just feel like throwing up the starter, leaves and never come back. Note that the girls are charming. But remember the restaurant allegory. With aggressive commercial attitude your are ruining it. I suggest looking for another way at another place.

An adult playground really, an enclosed space with many go go bars, top less bars, lady boy bars, and all the rest......very seedy, and a bit too much over the top.
All I can think and hear is the sound of cash registers as money is extorted from horny sad men.........
Interesting to see, but not the best experience in the world, too artificial, too noisy, like a lighted up cattle mart with ogling customers and scantly clad young ones all trying to get each others attention. No thanks! And its not that hard to pick up someone from a bar or on the street for one tenth of the price.....im guessing (cough!)

Visited only one bar the red dragon right up the stairs 1st floor.. Beautiful girls but be careful with the bill... I ended up paying 10.000 baht, per drink 220 baht, so I must have order 44 drinks? No way, I gave few girls a drink, drank myself 9 drinks... Check your bill every time you order something...

I am still dreaming of the great times having at the famous Spanky’s Bar, Nana Plaza Entertainment Center. The girls dancing, smiling, offering nights full of love and joy! Amazing nightly show run by David, provides continuing excitement throughout the night. His watchful eye is making sure that every guest is happy. He gracefully resolved service misunderstanding. Great crew David! Number one in Bangkok!

The staff in all the bars have only one goal: to get the most money from you. They watch you closely, when you’re drunk they give you bills you already paid, claiming you owe them money. The plaza is full of guards, and if there’s ONE thing you don’t do in Thailand: make problems with Thai people. Good luck to you!

By mistake my wife and I booked a room in the nana zone in Bangkok. Hotel seems somehow acceptable, but wondering if it is not dangerous staying here... some comments?
