The space
The centrepiece of our open-concept log cabin is a stone fireplace handcrafted with local rocks. A new wood-burning insert gets things cozy when the fog is thick. Gather around the wooden dining table, which seats eight, and take in a million-dollar view of the bay. The cabin comfortably sleeps four on a queen-size bed in the bedroom and pull-out couch in the living room. There’s a dog bed, too, for four-legged guests. A record player and curated collection of albums add to the ambience.
The kitchen is ready for seaside feasts. It's stocked with dishes, pots and pans and utensils. Along with a fridge and stove, there’s a toaster, coffeemaker and microwave. Outside amenities include four Adirondack chairs, a firepit in the yard, propane barbecue and bistro set on the deck.
Duck Pond Cottage is the perfect place to settle into a good book or comb the beach for sand dollars and shells. Kids love playing in the freshwater stream that flows from Duck Pond to the bay. Fully winterized, the cottage may be at its most beautiful in the winter, when the dark water and red-stone cliffs contrast with the white of the snow and ice. And Duck Pond is great for skating, when the conditions are right.
While civilization feels a million miles away, urban amenities and interesting day trips are in easy reach. Duck Pond cottage is a 20-minute drive to Rothesay, where you can stock up on groceries and supplies. Historic, hip Saint John, and its great restaurants and sights, is just a half-hour drive away, as is picturesque St. Martin’s, a historic fishing village. St. Martin’s is also the gateway to the Fundy Trail, where you can drive or hike some of the most stunning coastline in North America.

Guest access
Guests enjoy full access to the cottage and half-acre property. The beach bordering the property goes for miles. Spend the day exploring the caves, trails and Duck Pond. The cottage is stocked with beach blankets and chairs: set up on the sand or enjoy the epic views from the oceanfront yard.

Other things to note
This place is a true gem. We purchased it for the view and surf but have fallen in love with the rustic cottage and its charms. Enjoy the day beside the stone fireplace with a good book and tasty beverage or relaxing on the deck while BBQ'ing and listening to the waves crash on the beach. Throw on some vinyl and kick back. This is the ultimate place to recharge!
