Beautiful place. I wouldn't go in a private car because the road has cornices and gravel. You don't have to eat anything before climbing the mountain because it is more than 4000 meters above sea level.

A wonderful view, you have to be careful with the road, the road is all dirt, in some places with a saw. There are parts that it is a cornice path. When you arrive at Hornocal, they charge you an entrance fee, only cash upstairs, there is no telephone sign. It's worth the trip

Shocking!!
Personally, it impacted me more than the hill of seven colors. From Humahuca there are 4 x 4 that offer you a ride for an affordable sum. It is not worth going with your own car, you run the risk of breaking the windshield and not being able to see the road by paying attention to driving.

The landscape is beautiful and so is the arrival road (with its views and wild animals). You have to take time to admire and not get stuck. It is worth spending some time admiring nature. I suggest bringing coca leaves or coca candies if you are going to walk and explore the area.

Incredible landscapes. We arrived by van from the Humahuaca bus station (as soon as you arrive at this place, several locals show up with 4x4 vans). It is at more than 4000 meters and I recommend going early in the afternoon when the sun faces the Serranías and you can see the colors well. You can do a walk that I do not recommend for older or overweight people as they will feel quite bad.

Beautiful Humahuaca, with its always willing people. It happened to us that we just fell on December 31st and at night we couldn't find a place to go out to dinner and say goodbye to the year, so we stayed at the Giramundo Hostel where we shared a community New Year's Eve dinner with everyone who was there. From there we held the exhibitions by car at the Devil's Throat and by bus we went to Iruya, the bus leaves every day, I recommend leaving on the first bus in the morning to make better use of the time, it is a 3 hour trip to get to Iruya, That trip is a separate chapter to tell. DON'T BE FOOLED BY WHAT THEY TELL YOU AT THE ENTRANCE TO HUMAHUACA! The trip can be done without problem with ordinary cars. We did it with a Fiat Cronos and we did it perfectly. THEY WANT TO SELL YOU THE EXCURSIONS AND THEY ABUSE THE TOURISTS WHO DO NOT KNOW THE PLACE! The Hornocal is BEAUTIFUL 😍 An unmissable place. WEAR A COAT! It cools a lot at that height.

Hola. Yo fui a fines de agosto. Salen de la terminal de Humahuaca. Nos costó $ 4.000 por persona. Es recomendable porque se sube a una altura importante y te podés apunar. El guía te cuida y acompaña.

Te queria preguntar si el estado del ripio estaba mas o menos bueno para ir al hornocal en auto, ya que vamos a alquilar auto pero no estaba seguro si iba a aguantar. Saludos y gracias

Hola Leo un turista que se movia en una 4x4 me dijo que no habia problemas en ir con vehículo propio y que el camino era para 4 autos. Ahora bien nosotros fuimos con un auto de alquiler y te puedo asegurar que no es asi. El camino es feo en partes muy angosto el ripio es desparejo y saltan muchas piedras de los autos que pasan en sentido contrario. la decisión es tuya el auto se destartala, pero como el auto es de alquiler no habría mayores problemas, Ojo que un parabrisas sale aprox. 28.000.-. El lugar es hermoso, vale la pena trata de ir , antes a ver el cerro de los 7 colores en Purmamarca. y al Hornocal en el horario indicado y con día despejado. podés hacer el combo perfecto te levantas temprano vas a las SALINAS GRANDES y de regreso te vas a El Hornocal hay muchachos que te llevan por $ 1500.- por persona. Son vaqueanos y la tienen re clara.-

El costo del viaje es ida y vuelta y lo arreglás previamente con la persona te va a llevar. Por lo gral te llevan directo, pero en algunos casos pueden llegar a hacer alguna parada en algún punto panorámico o de interés, sobre todo si comunicas tu interés en este sentido

Pueden hacerlo sin guía es de fácil acceso y sin peligro. En nuestro caso fuimos en un Onix de Rental. También pueden contratar en Humahuaca remis o bus. Después en el lugar se manejan por libre no hay mucho para que te expliquen. Es una experiencia visual única
