My friend and I stayed from Oct 8-15, 2023. It was a very relaxing, fun and pleasurable stay for the both of us. Here are the specific details on our stay! It's sort of a long post as I feel there are so many points to cover on why this stay was so fantastic.

STAFF:
This was main reason our stay was so memorable - the amazing staff! Everyone we encountered at the resort was very warm, genuinely friendly, approachable, funny and made you feel very welcome. Let's start with the entertainment staff: Suzie, Micah, Delando and Carmela worked hard everyday to keep everyone entertained and they were so fun and personable. Not only did they interact with us daily, they also were all talented in their own way. They all either sang, danced, DJ'd etc...each one seemed to have multiple talents that they used to interact with guests. Sanjay and Kerrol (AKA Special K) made us the BEST drinks at the swim up bar and also knew everyone by name. Some of the best times were spent chilling at the swimup bar because of them! Our favourite spa staff were Amanda and Chavroy. Amanda catered our spa appointment to fit our budget, always greeted us around the resort with her beautiful smile and cheerful hellos and Chavroy ensured we found our way around the spa and even served us food/drinks after our treatments by the mineral pool. Adainnas (I hope that is the correct spelling) was our housekeeper for the week and she was the sweetest person who chatted with us like we were old friends. She always kept our room clean. Also I would like to add that anytime we needed more towels, bathrobes, help with the safe etc...it was a quick response from the front desk. I had a specific unforgettable experience with Leontashae (Leon for short) from marketing and Shantoi - the supervisor at the gift shop. I was approached by Leon who asked me if I would be interested in doing a photoshoot/video to promote the resort and gift shop. I was nervous at first to do it but soon felt very comfortable because of them. They directed me on what to do and the pictures turned out great from what I saw! They were both very passionate about their jobs. Shantoi shared with me that she travels 2 hours to work and back and has no complaints about it because she loves her job so much. Both Leon and Shantoi made me feel so comfortable - like I was hanging out with 2 old friends for the afternoon! Leon also surprised my friend by arranging balloons and a happy birthday sign at our dinner at the steak house. He went over and above to make her feel special on her birthday! Cake and wine were also sent to our room for her birthday. Kevin was in charge of anything fitness and gave us a great tour of the gym, told us about the fitness classes and was very welcoming and would be the first person to greet you at the gym before your workout. Another outstanding experience we had was at the Pierside restaurant . Our teppanyaki chef Subrenia was hilarious and had us all singing, dancing and laughing during dinner all while making us a tasty meal! She deserves a raise! There was a couple seated beside us that enjoyed it so much they told us it was their second time at the restaurant and they specifically came back again because of Subrenia. We also tried to return again but unfortunately the teppanyaki was fully booked. My last shout out is for one of the resort butlers Chantell. Yes this resort has butlers depending on what accommodation you have I believe. She was not our butler but she started chatting with us during one of our dinners. We mentioned to her that we wished our room had a full length mirror. By the time we went back to our room later that night, there was a full length mirror in our room! Absolutely everyone we encountered at the resort went over and above to make us feel special and welcome. Thank you Jewel Grande! We can't wait to come back.

Here are more pieces of info that may be helpful.
RESORT GROUNDS:
- clean and beautiful
- beach was a great size and never had an issue finding beach loungers. Cabanas available for extra fee. Not many umbrellas for shade so if you need shade, take that into consideration
- There are 2 pools - one pool seemed to be more for the families and the other pool had all the fun activities and swim-up bar
- 3 buildings but each are pretty quick to get to. I saw a couple people in wheelchairs at the resort so I believe that it is wheel chair accessible
- 2 gazebos on site that are the perfect place to meditate, take photos, get married, and I think you can even have a romantic dinner set up there for extra fee
ACTIVITIES:
- daily fitness classes either at the gym or the pool
- many non-motorized water sports available at the beach
- during our stay, karaoke, dancing and silent DJ were all held at the clubhouse lounge/lobby and were really fun!
- there is an onsite spa and gym. The gym had pretty much all the equipment needed and the spa, although was a bit expensive - was an amazing and very relaxing experience! There was a salt room, dry and wet sauna and mineral pools all at the spa. During our treatments at the spa, there was literally no one else in the sauna and mineral pools so we had the whole place to ourselves and it was fantastic!
FOOD/DRINK:
- I found drinks were great! Extensive drink menu and the bartenders certainly did not skimp out on the booze!
- Great wine selection! Most all inc resorts I have stayed at had poor quality house wines but not at the Jewel Grande! I really liked their house wines!
- Our favourite restaurants were Waves, Le Bouchon and Pierside. This resort was the only All inclusive resort I have been to that actually knew how to properly season and cook a steak!
-I love that they have a juice/smoothie bar and a coffee/dessert cafe.
- The buffet was open for breakfast and lunch and always had a great selection for all tastes. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Outdoor seating had a beautiful view of the ocean
ROOMS:
- we stayed in an oceanfront junior suite and it was huge!
- very clean and spacious.
- comfy beds!
- huge balcony facing the ocean
- huge bathroom included a separate tub
- as mentioned above, our room didn't have a full length mirror but if you need one, it seems you can request it!
- I believe there are 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom suites available and a penthouse suite too. Some suites also come with butler service

Use your vacation money wisely and visit this resort! The two bedroom ocean front suite was perfect for my family of 5. My teenagers relished having their own bedroom with full bathroom while vacationing. The room was clean and the view fabulous. Our butlers, Dean and Ronald were accommodating and helpful in every way.
We enjoyed the use of hobie cat rides and kayaking throughout the vacation, barely a wait to use use during the holidays week as well! The staff does a good job trying to clear the seaweed from the beach every morning and there were always enough chairs. You could get lounge chairs at the pool most days as well. I will say, the service for drinks and food was a bit quicker here.
We visited the spa twice during our stay. Thank you to Lorraine our attendant and a special thank you to Dudley and Dahlia. The massage and reflexology visits were awesome!! You helped to make our vacation very relaxing.
The food at most of the restaurants was above average with many selections to choose from. Our family agreed that the food at pierside was our favorite with Waves breakfast a close second.
We will definitely return!!

We went to Jewel Grande for a Family Vacation the four of us plus my mother making it 3 adults and 2 children. We opted for the spacious 2 Bedroom apartment which did not dissapoint for size, comfort or views.

The food was usually very good, service was excellent, location was amazing, and we would highly recommend the resort for anyone interested in a relaxing family vacation.

Pros:
The Service:
The highlight of our trip was the service. Our two bedroom room came with butler service. Roland and Keen, our butlers connected with us via Whatsapp and we were able to text them and get anything we needed promptly. They gave us very good tips about where to go scuba diving and what to do for sight seeing in the nearby town. They also often surprised us with complimentary fruit bowls which we'd often find in our room when we came back from the beach, not to mention they kept our fridge stocked at all time. We tipped well of course but we felt we got our moneys worth and then some.

The Food:
Most restuarants had excellent food, but we did find the ocassional dish that did not inspire. A dry chicken here and there, and the jerk chicken wasn't as spicy as I would like it, but other than these minor gripes the food was spot on.

Amenities and Location:
The place where the hotel is situated is more or less in the middle of nowhere along the coast. There are other hotels nearby but there's no talking long walks down the beach outside the hotel area as each Hotel is cordoned off by security. Walking outside the hotel works too but there isn't much to see other than a highway and lots of forest. So you'll generally be stuck on the hotle grounds themselves unless you wish to take a taxi into town. The grounds are very expansive though so we did not feel boxed in or lacking in things to do. The hotel provides a host of activities for free, such as kayaking, sailing, and there's beach volleybal and water polo available as well, plus some biliards tables and various bars to hang out at.

Cons:
Very few, the only reason I did not give the hotel 5 stars is because for the price and luxury there was a bit of dust and less than clean corners around the rooms, and the decor was a bit dated and tired. The food wasn't always perfect either.

I'll give it one star for the location and amenities because it is very gorgeous and access to different events and inclusions were nice, but the service really was a detriment to the experience. It was like we had to call and follow up on little things to make sure they would get taken care of like making reservations, getting clean towels, etc otherwise it was "no one contacted us about this." There was an issue almost every night with the restaurant service at different restaurants (except the hibachi restaurant) where we had to flag down wait staff each time we wanted something or wait long periods of time to get an update on our food or drinks. The real kicker is that they didn't honor the special promotions on there website unless you tell them beforehand that they have a promotion on their website and you want to apply that to your room or services. If you do so, make sure to follow up when you check in, before you get the service and then again upon check out to make sure this wasn't lost upon anyone. I signed up for spa services where it should have been 15 % off, but they didn't apply it and told me that they know it's online, but you have to mention it as well even if you booked your reservation online and your spa services with the guest ambassador. This is not mentioned in the fine print nor automatically applied to your account. It's like there's some sort of communication disconnect between online, in-person, and over the phone. When I asked about it noticing that the discount wasn't applied, they lied at first and told me that it was applied probably to get me out of the way. So that pissed me off even more. Even booking or making modifications to excursions was a hassle if you booked online then wanted to update at the hotel. Needless to say I was disappointed with the service, especially when I've seen so many great reviews. Funny thing is, I was there to celebrate a birthday, but I was also scoping out the next location for my job's business retreat. I cannot recommend at this time based on my experience. Unfortunate.

Jewel Grande hotel was a fantastic respite from the east coast cold winter and a gem of a hotel within the beautiful country of Jamaica.

Food: As a vegetarian, I worried what options there would be but found the soy veggie burger at the Pelican Grill and the tofu in the veggie stir fry at Pierside Restaurant to be good options. The breakfast buffet has omelettes and other egg options and the lunch buffet typically had a nice salad spread including flax seed, sliced almonds, and other seasonal salads like roasted beets and pumpkin. Thanks to the Waves restaurant manager (Ringo) and our waitress Ornella, we were able to order in advance a few entrees from the Asian and steak restaurant and have them delivered to Waves so each person within our party could have the cuisine that they wanted.

Service: Staff were all incredibly professional and accommodating throughout our entire 6 day tray. They provided a golf cart ride to every inch of the property which was particularly appreciated by my aging parents. I appreciated the value and ease of the all inclusive price and not needing to worry about ordering a second glass of wine or extra appetizer.

Property: The accommodations were immaculate and we easily found enough chairs and umbrellas every day during our mid to late-January stay. We stayed in the Sabal Tower and this was far enough away from the main lobby that we could not hear any music at night to keep us up.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of entertainment at the hotel and the variety of traditional and current Jamaican dancing from all periods.

The pool is not heated and was quite chilly however the hot tub nearby and the Caribbean Sea were both good replacements. Like most of the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico, there was Sargassum
seaweed built up however the staff diligently removed it each morning on the beach.

By far the best resort we have stayed at. Beginning with the front desk and check in process, everything was seamless, even though we arrived early. While waiting for the room to be available, front desk staff suggested we hit Crickets Grill, overlooking the beautiful caribbean waters. The food and drinks were great. The buffet station had very good variety, vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, at all times. Cricket's grill and Pelican grill by the pool offer quick bites and drinks. Moon stone cafe has awesome Italian food. The Pierside restaurant has an amazing hibachi station. We can never forget Subreenah entertaining us through out the dinner.

Sugarcane cafe next to the buffet place has all day long pastries and coffee. Do not miss the latte or espresso.

Every one of the staff were super friendly and after a day or two even remembered our names. I want to specifically mention the entertainment team of Aleisha, Javan, Dwight, Kemar and Scellena for teaching us dance moves and keeping us entertained with pool side games and music every day. Special shout out to Harmony dancers.

Also special mention to Christmas marching parade ending with Santa appearing on boat and giving gifts. Kids thoroughly enjoyed it.

Last but not least, the Kids club had activities through out the day. My daughter made new friends and enjoyed every bit of her time there. Special thanks to Danica and Aiesha.

Dont miss the kayaks, hobie ride, standup paddle boats available on the beach.

For those concerned with traveling during Covid, rooms and general access areas including restrooms are being constantly cleaned. Sanitizers were provided pretty much every where. Every thing was kept neat and clean. Staff were always wearing mask and also encouraged guests to maintain protocols in place during this time.

It was an enjoyable end to a very unpredictable year. Thanks a lot to all the staff at Jewel grande for making it one of the most memorable vacations.

I would like to start off by saying I am so blessed by this resort I was in a need of a vacation though we're in a pandemic. I needed a breather. When I arrived at Jewel Grande they made me feel nothing but safe from the moment I got into the transportation then from the airport. When I got to the Resort the beauty of it really just made me a motional then I had the opportunity to meet some amazing people starting with the manager Renee we had an issue and she made sure that she made it right with out any type of ill feelings or attitude she has such as sweet spirit and then we went to our Room everything was so clean and beautiful and meet it smelled fresh. When we went into the restaurants on the property they made sure we were safe we had to sanitize our hands before we can even walk in and never sanitized so much a my whole life but it was worth it because it kept us safe. Every worker at this hotel made me feel amazing it's so many names light Javan and Dwight Tracy and and Stacy and even shenice in the cafe that makes the best Lottie then you have you wing always made us feel special when we came to eat breakfast or lunch and then you had let Sawyer at the door with her bright smile that just brightens up your day and then you also have Nikisha M million MA all remembered us by name and that's commendable cause our names and not that easythe hostess at the doorMr. Vernon the manager over everything he was as super nice always making sure things get done and then you have miss Audrey the housekeeper she always made sure even if we didn't call if she saw as she won the made sure that we will OK and if we need a fresh towels she was always available to make sure that we was as comfortable as possible and then you have Carolyn in Steven that worked on the buffet bar or even germane that worked at the way restaurant or Peter from the labile Shan the restaurants and the food was a mazing every last one of these restaurants have great food as stayed here for 9 days and I did not want to leave I am so blessed that my husband and I had chose this resort to spend our anniversary and I'll definitely Choose this resort again.

My experience at the Jewel Grande was nothing less than amazing. My first interaction was with Alexa who was a key part in planning my stay and arranging all my special request. Alexa was super helpful and was very responsive to emails prior to my arrival; She helped to make this trip memorable. The moment we arrived at the resort we were treated with VIP service. I attempted to remove my luggage from the taxi and Moyan immediately stepped in and said "Sir when you're here on vacation you don't have to lift anything" he then took our bags and brought them up to the room; the bell service here is top notch.

Now, let's talk about the food service and cleanliness of the Resort...I was pleasantly surprised and impressed at the measures the resort and staff took to ensure that their guests' health and safety were not compromised. There were hand sanitizing stations at every entrance, staff members wearing mask the entire time, the dining tables were sanitized right before guests were seated, and social distancing enforced. In addition, someone was always cleaning, the resort remained spotless. Also, the housekeeping did not skip a beat; our room was always cleaned and replenished on time.

The wait staff Marvin, Tracy-Ann, Latoya, and Nickesha made us look forward to breakfast, lunch and dinner. Their pleasant personalities, and attentiveness made us extremely happy.

My girlfriend and I had an amazing time at this resort and look forward to visiting again in the near future.

Stayed at jewel grand for a nice girls trip/ getaway with my cousins. This resort was so beauty, the staff was so nice and welcoming and the food was great! Karla-Deen worked at the cricket grill, she was one of the first people to make us feel so comfortable and like we were at home! She felt like one of the family! We had sooo much fun!! We stayed in a two bedroom suite with lots of room, very clean with great views of both the ocean and the landscape. Overall would definitely recommend this resort for couples and families!

Three of us stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights the week before Christmas—a couple and adult daughter. We had a two bedroom, three bath ocean front room on 6th floor, NE corner of middle of 3 high rise buildings. It overlooked pool down to side where we spent much of our time and to the front the sea with breakwaters. The buildings are built into a hillside so we often were going up and down stairs. We could take more circuitous routes on sloping paths to avoid steps. Some parts of steps are dark at night. Room was very clean with all facilities easy to use—though we did not use some things much like dining room and kitchen. We mostly slept there or spent time on balcony enjoying the view. Our room was provided with the services of two butlers whom we really did not need. However they were appreciated for what they did—things such as moving luggage and getting wine and snacks. They were friendly but unobtrusive.Pools were.cool but swimmable. Ocean was warmer but wavy. Two of us took a Hobiecat—sailboat—ride with a young man controlling the ship. A fun ride and we learned more about the history of the resort. We ate at all four of the nonbuffet restaurants for dinner. We liked the Italian place—sea bass for all—and Asian place the best. Buffet restaurant was quite adequate for breakfast and lunch. Only downer was the Pelican grill we tried twice for lunch—we got very slow service there and one time we had to leave because food ever came. This place was worth the price which was midway between two other places we liked—an Ocean resort in Mexico and a Riu Palace on Aruba.

Luminous Lagoon is a night tour where the water glows blue once you swim in it or ride through it on the boat . Its a nice tour option if it rains its like magic i did it many times maybe more as a travel agent I cant count .
