Amazing as before. This is our 2nd time at Tenmasa and it is just as excellent as the 1st time. Pros: 1) Alfonsino red bream sashimi is amazing! And so hard to find elsewhere 2) Food quality is excellent 3) Value for money and quality even in the a la carry menu 4) Even though they specialize in tempura but their grilled food, salad and sashimi is equally amazing Con: Not located in my hotel! Highly recommended it.

Tenmasa is a hi-end Tempura restaurant from Tokyo and mainly serves fine dinning tempura at night with fresh and high quality directly from Japan. To cope with demand at quick lunch of business travelers and clients, it offers lunch sets and seasonal bindom at affordable prices. I like these offers and views of the restaurant. The set is quantity enough for adults and slightly over for slimming ladies. The last desserts complete lunch well and refreshing mind for long afternoon work.

It is a nice sunny Saturday out with my wife, I just don’t expect a USD 70 set lunch looks like this, the seafood is overcooked. We spent extra USD 40 for some seafood tempura. So called Wagyu beef rice is soft and moist, I can’t find another word, baby food.

First heard about this place on TV and it looked quite genuine. Again, having tried many places in Tokyo, I have high standards on the tempura. I requested to sit at the tempura bar where the chef prepared and fried the tempura. The setup looks proper. I was told all the ingredients came from Japan. From flour to oil to water. Chef is also Japanese. I decided to have lunch instead of dinner because I didn't want to spend a lot on a place I am not sure about. Still not cheap at USD70 for tempura lunch set with appetizer, 7 pieces of tempura, kakiage (mix vegetables and seafood tempura w choice of steamed rice/tendon/tenbara), and dessert. Had 2 shrimps and they were very sweet. They were lightly coated with batter. I noticed he did not add ice (made locally) to the flour batter mix. This approach is quite standard in most upscale tempura place in Japan. Nevertheless, the batter was mostly up to my standard. Having said that, I've had better in Tokyo. Lunch set came with one piece of kisu (Japanese whiting), I ordered an extra piece because it was so fresh and it's one of my favorite tempura item. The vegetables were good as well.

order the premium set and thus the chef is preparing this in front of you. price range is from $500 to $700. they will serve a piece by piece instead of serving the whole plate of tempura for you. it is hot and crispy. some budget set lunch is around $300 with 9 types of food including sashimi, noodle.... the view there is nice too.

This is really really the best Tempura Restaurant in Macau . Lunch time was packed with guests as they offered very good price set lunch! The price paid for its quality food is really worth! It has the best view of Macau peninsula and the service is excellent! Remember that you need to take off your shoes there!

We had lunch at Tenmasa in January with some friends.. We requested for Chef Noguchi and a private room. We got both of our requests with a warm welcome from Christine. Chef Noguchi showed us the fresh prawns, scallops and imported Japanese vegetables that he will use for our tempura meal. From the fresh ingredients to the preparation and cooking methods, everything was prepared with care. This then reflects on the finished product which was served by the chef individually to each guest immediately after cooking. The meal was delicious, not oily and aesthetically pleasing. Appetizers and desserts were served complimentary with the meal. The only downside is that the meal is pricey but then you get value for the price that you paid.

The 3rd time to try the restaurant and it never fail to impress us. We were again assigned at the tempura room where a chef is stationed at a open tempura kitchen surrounded by the guests. The sea urchin tempura is a must to try, though you may not find it in the set menu. Cant comment too much on service as we were served by the chef instead of by the waitress. A little bit pricey but its the best tempura house in town indeed

We tried lunch here upon arrival on Saturday and it was quite empty surprisingly. So we had doubts in choosing a good restaurant. We ordered 2 lunch sets, both with tempura but one with sushi and the other one with tempura-don (rice bowl). We both agreed that we never had tempura of this high standard ever! The ingredients were fresh! Even after being fried, they were still very juicy. The covering of the tempura was not oily/greasy at all!!! Well done!!! The tempura-don was delicious too, however, the sushi were average though with toro and other nice fishes. Anyway, I highly recommend the tempura here!!!

Being a high-end Japanese restaurant in town it's price was well justified by its food quality and service. Each item was prepared to its finest and service was very attentive. The temperature control and timing of tempura are the two most important factors that can affect the taste and knowing that the chef always makes the tempura a la minute and serve to table piece by piece. Therefore we can always savour the freshly prepared tempura without fearing it to become cool. Wonderful dining experience I'll say.

Tempura was their signature food, but really disappointed. Each lunch set cost almost MOP $400 but food was.....! Restaurant had a wonderful view of Macau which might be the selling point. Not worth to take a trip unless you stay at the hotel.
