Convenience store and shops are closed by. Good for the value. Not expensive.
How to get here from Narita Airport by subway. We took subway from the airport using Keisei line get off at Oshiage (Sky tree) staion then take the Honzomon line (the purple line) down to Suitengumae station walked out at Exit 2. When you come out you will see 7eleven on your right hand side, walk straight cross the street turn right walk a block down the left the hotel is on your right hand side.
The room - oh my the room is small. There was a double bed a desk and counter for the TV and that's it. If you are travelling with a few big luggages I suggest you store them at the airport and just take what you need with you during your stay as you won't have enough room for your luggages. We stayed here with the total of 3 nights. First 2 night we had a room in a second building which you will have to walk around the block to get to. The room was small washroom was small but it's got everything you need in there. The only complain I have is the carpet. It was dirty well it looked dirty. Other that that it was ok. Oh there is no WIFI in your room only in the lobby so you have to go around the block to use WIFI but there is hard wired LAN connection in the room.
The 3rd night is when we came back from Mt. Fuji. We asked to keep one of your bag here as we only going to stay one night in Mt. Fuji so stay just took what we need and leave the rest at the hotel, they had no problem with it.
This time have a room in the main building. The room is even smaller than the first one. ( didn't think it was possible) but the carpet was cleaner the bathroom was so small that I could reach from one side of the wall to the other with having to straight out my arms and I am only 5'4"! However there was everything we need in there from double bed complete clean bathroom and for what we paid for I can't complain. In this building you can get WIFI out side your room before we left we saw a router in our room so not sure if we need to get password from the hotel or might have to pay for if we want to use it.
Breakfast area is in the lobby. Seating are limited so does the selection but really we paid roughly CAD$80 per night for a hotel in Tokyo including breakfast. I can't complain.
So if you just looking for a place to sleep and just spend you time exploring the city this is the hotel for you. It's in a convenience spot for you to go just about everywhere. Staffs were wonderful. They were polite and helpful. I would stay here again of I have a chance to visit Japan again.
Oh they also have shuttle from the hotel to Tokyo station. Doesn't run daily and not all day but we used it when we left to the airport to catch JR airport express train.
The location is great, perfect for newcomers. Tokyo doesn't have one center where you should be, it has several, so it's important to be close to the metro station, and this hotel is close to even three, the closest one being 3 min walk. Furthermore, the airport bus stops just across that nearest metro station, where is the TCAT (Tokyo City Air terminal), which means you have 3 min walk to the hotel.
Reception area is pretty small, turning into a breakfast area in the morning, but the staff is very kind and helpful. The hotel has 12 floors, we were on the top one, and absolutely no noise. We had a Tokyo tower view.
Rooms are small, and everybody should know that this is normal in Japan. It's like that in all hotels I've been in Japan (I mean mid range hotels, you certainly can have space and luxury in hard paying top class hotels). When you open two suitcases, you have to jump over them in order to move. Otherwise, the room was OK, bed and pillows great, working desk and inevitable fridge, air con and air freshener along with TV. Every night a newly washed pijamas along with slippers and superb toileteries await you. The bathroom is a miniature, but you get used to it. The same with the high tech toilet seat.
Breakfast is decent, but OK. The hotel doesn't have it's kitchen, so they get delivered ready meals in a nylon bag and just serve it. Mostly it's omlette and some meatballs, which I didn't eat, but you have croissants with jam, juice and coffee, fair enough to start the day and to keep you fed for few hours.
Wifi is perfect in the entire hotel.
Two 24 hrs supermarkets (Lawson and 7-11) are just two min walk.
So, considering the price paid (90 USD for a double) and all the above, I certainly recommend this hotel.
As previously posted by several posters, the hotel is very close to the TCAT. Arriving after a 14 hr flight, I did not want to first start learning how to navigate the Tokyo subway system, so this was a great convenience. Exit the TCAT. Look for the 7-11, go down that block, and the hotel is across the street on the left. (TIP:before you leave, If you have Google Maps, put in the hotels address, and you can "Virtually" walk around the hotel, and see where it is in relation to the TCAT.) After checking in, we went to our room in the annex (This means another building around the block). Our room was non-smoking, and when we walked in, we did NOT smell any smoke.
As far as the room itself, this is amongst the smallest rooms I have ever been in. There is a double bed, a desk and a TV (All stations are in Japanese, no western channels, no CNN) on top of a cabinet housing a mini-fridge. There is no safe in the room. (A shame, because I like to use it ) There was no dresser or nightstand. There was, however, a small alcove with a bar and a few hangers, and a luggage caddy, that we balanced our carry-on, on.
The desk had two outlets (Two prong American style) and I was able to use a power strip (I never travel without one) without a converter and power my netbook, my sons ipod, cell phone, etc. Please note, the hotel advertises free Internet in the room. However, it is wired, There is a LAN cable that goes from the front of the desk to the netbook, and the speed is decent, BUT, this does not work for wireless devices, such as my sons IPOD. WIFII is available in the lobby of the main building. They do provide many amenities, even tho this is a budget property. Amenities include, Slippers, sleeping shirts, full set of toiletries, toothbrush, comb, etc. There is a drawer with tea cups and powdered tea, as well as a large electric kettle. We were here during a heatwave (90+ every day) and were thankful for the air conditioner that cooled the room very well.(TIP) The AC unit has a remote and, its on a timer, so be sure it has enough hours on it before you go to bed. Otherwise, you will wake in a very small hot room. This is from experience. The hotel also advertises free breakfast. This is true. BUT, the best word used to describe it would be "Eh" Not comparing because its free, but a lot of our morning meals came courtesy of the nearby 7-11.
About the bed. Its a double. I am traveling with my 12 year old son. Its very tight. In all honesty, I would be cautious about sharing this room with another adult. Between the lack of storage and small bed, it could prove a bit troublesome.BUT the staff is pleasant (Certainly, their English is better then my Japanese), the room is clean (And was always waiting for us, cleaned by the time we came back after a day of exploring the city) The proximity to the TCAT, and the affordable price do make this a viable option for those on a budget.
Friendly staff - efficient check-in & check-out.
Room was small but good for 2 people. Loved their complimentary sleepwear and slippers. Bathroom was compact... Reminds me of a cruise ship bathroom.
Lobby had amenities available, just in case you forget them.
Daily breakfast/brunch was sumptuous- choice of salad greens plus a variety of other add-ons and 4 choices of salad dressings, scrambled eggs, a different breakfast meat each day, rice, 2 soups, cereal, yogurt, fruits, breakfast pastries, juices, coffee and tea. Enough to fuel you for a day of sightseeing.
For any last minute needs 7-11 is close by.
Two subway lines within walking distance- Z Line. and H Line.
Definitely would stay here again.
All the good things:
1. Room is small, but everything I needed is there.
2. Wifi is very strong anywhere in the hotel. No password required.
3. 3-min across the South Exit of the TCAT, you will see a 7-11, look towards the left and you will see the hotel. Bus from Narita Airport, one-way Y1900 for foreigners.
4. On Metro, alight at Suitengumae, exit 2, you will be right in front of the said 7-11.
5. Free shuttle, one-way (20-min) to Tokyo Station where you can get on any transport you need to go around and out of Tokyo. We took the bus from here to Mt Fuji, 3-hour journey, cost Y3000 for a return ticket.
6. Breakfast is included. Simple but filling.
7. Asked for extra pillows, they were given immediately.
8. Air-Cond has cold and hot air, worked perfectly.
Walk along the street in Ningyocho, there are plenty of shops and restaurants, cafes too.
A very convenient location for travelers.
We tried our luck at 1 pm at the hotel & they gave us a room before check-in time, nice surprise.
The experience at the reception (as in most of the Japan hotels) was OK with them luckinly knowing some words in english....
This hotel is 1 min walking from the Suitengūmae station (250mts) easy to travel to Oshiage (Tokyo Skytree) & 3 stations from Tokyo (gotto change at Otemachi). Also it is near to Kayabacho Station which is 5-8 mins walking (take Hibiya line from here for the Disney trip).
Room was very small, sleeping area not more than 6-8 ft wide, not the bed, but the Bedroom itself. That was dissapointing even by Tokyo standards. Also No Wifi (except lobby) so have to connect to Lan Cable only in rooms which is not very cool.
Also the food (breakfast was included) was not very good, rather below average I would say.
But the important factor is ....is it value for money ? I paid close to $100/night (including taxes), so i would say may be.....or NOT if I compare to the hotels i was staying in Osaka, Kyoto (other revies)
So to sum it all:
Location: 4/5
Room: 2/5
Cleanlines: 4/5
Food:2/5
Staff: 4/5 (they always tried helping us even with their limited knowledge of English, appreciate that).
Value for Money: NO ..Hence overall 3/5.
