This hotel is a good choice for family trip, location is convenient to go Kamogawa running. The staff are well-trained and very friendly, and can respond to some of the customer's requests.
Except for Yogo Iwamura at the breakfast restaurant, I would like to focus my complaint on him. Our family was scolded by him 2 mornings in a row, which affected our good mood for 2 days, and the sky in Kyoto seemed to turn grey. After we registered at the door, he wouldn't let us enter the restaurant to eat. We tried to communicate with him in English and all he would say was that he didn't speak English. We then tried to communicate with him using Google Translate and he refused to communicate with us and gestured for us to back off and get out of the way. He also did not ask for help from other colleagues who could speak English. I think he should go and learn English instead of neglecting the guests because of his ignorance. Then another employee saw us standing and came over to ask us what help we needed. Even though this employee's English was not good either, he smiled and gestured to us with his hand that we needed to sit outside and wait for a seat. I guess this is the level of service what a normal hotel should have.

This response was unsuitable for a person in the customer service industry, and we are embarrassed to receive this kind of feedback from our customers. 我们一家在这里住了4天，有很好的体验。它是我们想游览的所有旅游景点的中心位置。这里拥有友好的员工和非常干净的房间。我们也非常喜欢传统的日式水疗，每天都会去那里。餐馆的食物很好。我们一定会再待在这里的！

Thank you very much for having stayed at Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shinmach Bettei and taking your time to share your wonderful comment with us. We are very happy to hear that you fully enjoyed your stay with us and the room you stayed was comfortable for you. Our hotel is located on a small historical street called Shinmachi, and that makes our guests feel a special atmosphere that you can only feel in certain area in Kyoto. We are also in walking distance to famous Nishiki Food Market where you can enjoy some local foods. Furthermore, we are pleased to hear that you were so satisfied with our staff service. We constantly strive to offer all of our guests more comfortable stay. According to our public bath, it is used artificial carbonated spring and we believe it will make you feel so relaxed and release your one-day fatigue. In addition, our breakfast is one of the biggest attractive points of our hotel. Using only quality ingredients, their buffet includes a wide range of "Kobachi", which means a side dish in a small bowl so that you can get the best of everything and can enjoy traditional Japanese flavors. 酒店很新，非常干净，设施现代，但房间装饰保留了日式传统风格。按京都的消费水准来看，酒店价格合理，位于中心地带，方便搭乘地铁，与5星酒店相比，早餐的食物种类有限，但也有足够的当地食物可供选择。房间有点小，在放置了一张标准尺寸的床后，就没什么空间了。

As you know, our hotel is located at very convenient place to many sightseeing spots and easy access to public transportation such as city bus, train and subway. Nearest stations is just 6-7 minutes walking from our hotel. We look forward to welcoming you back to our hotel again on your next opportunity to visit Kyoto Japan. Thank you very much for your inquiry.
For your first question, you can take the Special Rapid Service from JR Sannomiya Station then take off at JR Kyoto Station. It takes 1 hour and 10 minutes. At Kyoto Station, please change to the subway and take off at Shijo Station. From Shijo Station to our hotel, it takes 7 minutes by foot.
For your second question, from Kyoto to Narita Airport, first, you can take the shinkansen from JR Kyoto Station to JR Shinagawa Station, then change to the line to JR Narita Airport Station. In this way, the JR pass works!

There is also famous "Nishiki market" in Kyoto in about 10 minutes walking distance.

Thank you very much for your inquiry.
To get to our hotel from Kyoto station, the easiest way is by taxi, and it will take you about 15 minutes and cost you around 1,500 JPY.
In case you prefer taking public transportation, you can take subway from Kyoro station to Shijo station, which is just 2 stops away, and go up the stairs to the ground level from exit 22. It will take you around 7-8 minutes from the exit to our hotel.
