I come to TeeMall to shop, dine, get groceries, and enjoy the vibrant local area. It is easy to get to by the GZ (Guangzhou) Metro/subway. Also lots of nice shops, restaurants, cafes, and entertainment facilities nearby.

The Apple Store is likely the largest tenant of Parc Central shopping center and has the most customer traffic. I frequent this mall for a few of its clothing shops and eateries.

This mall is located next to Parc Central Mall and is about 10-15mins walk to the Tiyu Chang metro station. It is also another huge shopping mall with several storeys, with a big aquarium with lots to shop and eat here!

As it was strategically located, the mall was crowded, especially after work hours and so many people were rushing here to shop or dine. We were window shopping at the Parc Central and came by here to look around and it's quite a fun and interesting mall, full of vibes and vibrancy!

There were so many things to see and shop and we had our dinner here which I will separately review the restaurant!

There are many users of traditional Chinese medicine. Many of the ingredients can be purchased at this market. Also on sale are live scorpions, turtles, seahorses, animal horns, dried fish, many medicinal mushrooms, some being gigantic, many different kinds of animal parts, and much more.

With an eye-catching name, the Mall of the World is a vast underground area that bisects Guangzhou's ultramodern Flower City Square. A popular place among locals, it offers a plethora of dining options of modest price. Worth a look when in Tianhe.

There are at least 3 multi-storey malls along the street, so after going to bai ma there are 2 others to hit. Each one has numerous stores selling clothes, shoes, even jewelry, all at cut rate prices. A lot of dross mixed in with the good stuff so patience is a virtue. Easy access by subway. While you can usually negotiate a lower price if buying in bulk, drawback is most shops don't let you try on the clothes before buying.

Would love to go again. However they close very early and there are not many wholesale shops around.

Guangzhou is full of new, fancy shopping malls. Although Link Plaza (its new name) is no longer the prime option, it is still is pleasant, spacious choice in the lively Tianhe District. Most of the boutiques and restaurants are chains, though.

Haizhu Square is a public square located in Yuexiu District in Guangzhou. It is located right on the riverfront, Pearl River. Its centrepiece is the Guangzhou Liberation Statue, erected in 1959. And in 1963, the square and its environs were named as one of the Eight Sights of Guangzhou.

Our hotel was right in front of Haizhu Square and we would passby this place everyday a few times, when going out/in the hotel. And it is very convenient to go to other parts of the city, either via the metro or even walking, on average, between 15-20mins.

There were also malls, restaurants and eateries all around and so you will not need to worry where to shop or dine. And the pier for cruise was also nearby.

So it's a nice place to visit!

This is a very big underground mall with lots of shops and food stalls. It was very difficult to orientate directions but there are some signs showing where a certain corridor leads towards. There are some exits with escalators ( some distance in between) and intermittent fire escapes which are poorly or not lit.
The merchandise here caters mainly to a younger shopper crowd. Somewhere ( probably in the center), I chanced upon an area with many traditional Chinese backdrops great for taking photographs. That is a very interesting area and there are also a hands on pottery making shop and some painting shops where one can paint over 3D model toys or display figurines.
It is a great place to shop when the weather is wet or too hot.

Po Park is a large shopping mall right next to Guangzhou East railway station. It is a huge complex with a variety of boutiques and restaurants of all price ranges. Good for a pre- or post-trip respite.

Just like two years ago SWMBO and I wearing face masks boarded the 181 bus at its terminus just around the corner. We had our temperatures checked and sat in the air-conditioned bus for the journey across the city to the medicine and spice market where SWMBO bought tea and some dried orange peel which SMBO assures is a great addition to tea and soups.

We then carried on walking to the pedestrian walkway which spans the monstrous traffic intersection, climbed the circular stairs and then descended to the ancient foot bridge onto Shamian Island.

We walked around Shamian Island and indulged in a cup of tea and a slice of cake (expensive and mediocre) each while sheltering from the afternoon heat and humidity (36C and 70%). Be aware that everything is expensive on Shamian Island.

We then retraced our steps, crossed the bridge, and headed for the fish market.
Its official name is Huangsha Aquatic Products, but everybody calls it The Fish Market. All I can say about the market that if comes out of the sea and it’s not a submarine it’s for sale in the market.

Just be aware there’s water and ice everywhere because the aquatic products are expected to be fresh. The smell is also rather overpoweringly fishy. Also be aware that the rolling pin on a stall isn’t for rolling pastry but for killing fish, if you’re a little squeamish best not to watch or you won’t enjoy your next fish dinner.

It’s a busy place with huge trucks squeezing through the narrow roads while mopeds and tuck-tucks weave in between.

Oh dear! The price of salmon has nearly doubled since our last visit. Nothing under ¥100 a jin, and SWMBO settled for a stall selling at ¥108 a jin.

Note: salmon in Chinese is 三文鱼 (san, wen, yu)。

Note: a jin is half a kilo, i.e 500 grams, and it’s the most common weight measure in China. There are 460 grams to the pound.

SWMBO bought five jin. Two as a present to a good friend, and three for me. The salmon was sliced in very nice ‘steaks’ contrary to the usual thin slices used for sushi in the Japanese restaurants and take-aways dotted around the city.

Another jin of alive shrimps was also popped into our shopping bag. All packed in ice for our taxi ride home.

SWMBO cooked me a salmon steak with garlic, onion and chill, accompanied by plain boiled white rice for dinner. I washed it down with a glass or three of Great Wall Chardonnay. A delicious end to an afternoon’s adventure.

Great place to go for a walk, shop and/or try the local food. I was particularly impressed by the big, beautiful temple❤️
