2019冠狀病毒病疫情引起大罷工的原因有很多，其中包括薪資水平的降低與拖欠、不安全的工作條件、混亂的社會環境等。這些罷工活動與針對大流行的各種抗議活動之間是有區別的。

監獄系統罷工[編輯]

2020年3月，受2019冠狀病毒病疫情影響，美國賓夕法尼亞州的約克縣監獄發生了一起絕食抗議。[1] 2020年4月17日，加利福尼亞州聖地牙哥的奧泰梅薩拘留中心則發生了另一場絕食抗議。[2]

大學罷工[編輯]

2020年4月，有報道稱美國芝加哥大學的學生開始停止交學費，[3] 波莫納學院和新學院的學生也組織了相同的運動。[4] 同時，由於瓦薩學院拒絕修改網課的評分系統，即拒絕修改將一般的績點系統改為僅通過或不通過的評分標準，學生們組織了罷課。哥倫比亞大學的博士學生也開始了罷課，他們認為學校應該取消他們的租金，提升他們的研究獎金並且在給他們的項目增加一年的時間來彌補由於疫情所缺失的研究時間。[5]

智利大學的學生們和智利的聖塞巴斯蒂安大學的學生們組織了一個線上罷課來幫助沒有電腦或者沒有可以上線上課的網絡資源的學生。[6]

工人大罷工[編輯]

食品加工[編輯]

2020年3月底，50名在美國佐治亞州珀杜農場（Perdue Farms）工作的員工進行了一場罷工。罷工的主要原因是對工作條件以及工傷賠償的不滿。[7] 4月27日，明尼蘇達州Pilgrim's Pride飼養場的工人們罷工，抗議公司在疫情期間沒有採取必要防疫的措施來確保員工的安全。4月28日，50名內布拉斯加州史密斯·菲爾德養豬場的工人們在得知48名員工COVID-19檢測呈陽性，但工廠並不打算停工後，進行了罷工活動。[8] 5月7日，華盛頓州艾倫兄弟（Allan Brothers）工廠的水果包裝工人進行了罷工，抗議公司在防疫措施上表現鬆懈，並且要求工傷賠償。[9]

雜貨[編輯]

在英國北愛爾蘭的鄧甘嫩，Linden Foods的食品包裝員工因不滿安全狀況而罷工。[10] 小部分Instacart、[11][12] 全食超市、[13] 以及其他雜貨店的員工則選擇暫停工作或申請病假。

環境衛生[編輯]

在英國的肯特郡，為Medway委員會的承包商Norse Group工作的回收員和街道清潔工一致投票決定罷工，原因是疫情之下工作環境不安全，並且當地缺乏防護服。[14] 但協議達成後，罷工取消了。[15] 在美國新奧爾良，城市環衛工人從2020年5月5日開始罷工。[16]

製造業[編輯]

美國通用電氣的工人罷工並以此要求改造工廠來生產呼吸機。[17] 由於2019新型冠狀病毒大流行，呼吸機供應嚴重短缺。[18] 在密歇根州沃倫市的菲亞特克萊斯勒工廠，工人們為了能使用洗衣機而舉行罷工。[19] 意大利倫巴底的工業工會一直在威脅並組織罷工，以此來抗議不盡人意的工作條件。[20][21]

醫療[編輯]

香港公共部門的醫生和護士在1月底和2月初舉行了兩周的罷工，抗議香港政府拒絕為遏制疫情的蔓延而關閉與中國大陸的邊境。醫療工作者工會警告說，除非與中國大陸實施嚴格的邊境隔離，否則醫療體系將不可避免地崩潰。[22] 在巴布亞新畿內亞，4000名護士預計將舉行罷工來抗議危險的工作條件。[23] 由於缺乏防護裝備，津巴布韋公立醫院的醫生和護士舉行了罷工。[24]環衛工人在賓夕法尼亞州的匹茲堡[25]和英國的麥德威[26]舉行罷工，要求提供防護設備。香港[27]、 賈拉拉巴德[28]、 雅加達[29] 和伊斯蘭堡[30] 的醫生都因缺乏防護裝備而威脅要發動襲擊。

澳洲墨爾本港口的碼頭工人因擔心2019冠狀病毒病疫情導致的安全問題，拒絕從一艘中國船隻上卸貨，隨後被勒令停運。[31]

非疫情原因造成的罷工[編輯]

在意大利，一場的航空運輸罷工計劃於2020年2月被推遲，但此事與2019冠狀病毒病疫情無關。[32][33]
