- ccsfamilyGeneva, IL328 contributionsThis is one of the five stops on the all day bicycle tour. We spent about 45 minutes here walking the path around and had a lot of time to take photos. Plus, our bike tour guide provided a lot of interesting information about it. It was crowded; however, there is a lot of space so you could get a good photo and also stop to enjoy the scenery. If we were not on he tour, we would have explored the area a little more and also took time to stop by a few of the tents selling items right outside the exit area.Written April 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - chowsoGloucester, UK1,266 contributionsI would love to give this five stars but again, the crowds made it difficult to enjoy parts of this experience. It's a really beautiful place with a nice five story pagoda, and the main hall on stilts is very impressive. There is a nice walk to a small pagoda where people pray for fertility. The main hall and the views of the main hall with Kyoto in the background were the most crowded areas. It is definitely worth visiting but probably best to go as early as possible.Written April 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - kim buay pSingapore, Singapore11,364 contributionsWe took the train to Sendagaya station. On exiting the station turned right and walked past Excelsior cafe. We walked through the first underpass across the carpark below the train track and turned right. The Sendagaya entrance is just ahead and it is about 5 mins walk. Normally this park is closed on Monday but during the cherry blooming season, we could visit it on a Monday. This park is very peaceful and provides a good break from the city atmosphere. We also went into the Greenhouse.Written April 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- fizzy1991Nashville, TN5,766 contributionsWonderful place with lots of history but very crowded. We were told by our guide that weekends are even more congested. Most of the buildings were reconstructed after WWII. Although there was one building (see pictures) that was over 400 years old.Written May 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Julie Smossley308 contributionsThis is a beautiful place to visit. The bronze Buddha is huge! There are lots of other things to see in the temple too. The park outside was gorgeous with all the cherry blossom and I loved the Sika deer who wandered around freely and bowed their heads for a rice biscuit.Written May 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mellie2013Port Moody, Canada2,741 contributionsA wonderfully cared for and beautiful Shrine. Huge in size and located within one of the most amazing mature forests in Tokyo. Close to Yoyogi Park.
We were lucky enough to visit during their Cherry Blossom 🌸 festival! There were many acclaimed Ikebana artists setting up displays for the event. The Shrine over takes the plaza area and is flanked by the most marvellous mature (maple?) trees on either side.

There is a quiet and respectful peace that is here now but we should also remember the past so that we will not repeat it. This whole area including the museum is a must see.Written May 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JudeeLivermore, CA958 contributionsI traveled here for a short day trip with a 2 and 3.5 year old. They did well but every parent knows you’ve only got so much time before a melt down. In about 4 hours we arrived on the ferry and walked through the Shrine and toured the Homotsukan (Treasure Hall) , had lunch and shopped. Without kids I could cover more ground and would have allowed 6-8 hours to see more stuff.
I don’t think you can see Hiroshima and Miyajima in one day that’s just too much.Written May 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This could be terrifying for small children because the deer can become aggressive if you have food.Written May 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Soudamini MohapatraBengaluru, India120 contributionsAfter seeing the beautiful pictures of the Arashimaya bamboo forest I thought of it to be something spectacular. But it's just a small patch of bamboo groove which is very picturesque and every inch was full with people. Thankfully there is a walking trail leading to a river with beautiful ducks. Overall it's OK.Written April 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- June G0 contributionsGreat place to visit as a family. We went during the day and had delicious street food on our way to the walk to sensoji. - OZS_ATWBudapest, Hungary3,323 contributionsWe came here from Yaedake Sakuranomori Park at the end of January 2024.
We paid Y 3,300 for 2 adults and a kid.
The Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium was located in a huge area. We did not like the dolphin show. It was very disappointing but the rest of the place was very interesting.Written April 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The old wooden shops, lanterns, and cherry blossoms were a site to behold. The biggest downside is it is crowded.Written April 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- PancakeRollPancakeRoll183 contributionsBeautiful park especially in cherry blossom season. The park gets very busy at weekends but has an organised ‘flow’ to the walks so it’s not too bad. Food stalls out in April. Starbucks in the park can have queues out the door at the weekend.
Easy access via park exit Ueno Station. Spend an hour strolling in the fresh air…just don’t walk and eat!Written May 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's a well maintained place and visited by many tourists. It makes one feel bad to imagine the misery people have gone through, also appreciate how the city has grown from the debris. Must visit place for everyone.Written May 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
