Second visit to W Guangzhou. Received Titanium upgrade to the Fantastic suite to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Greeted and acknowledged my status and every staff I came across was cheerful and friendly . We arrived early and our suite was not ready but our luggage was brought to our room during clean up as I do not want my luggage left at bell desk. I did contact David N who we met on our previous visit. Rose petals was on our bed and bathtub . Balloons on the wall and bottle of wine and a small gift with handwritten notes put a smile on my face. I enjoyed the happy hour at the club lounge as W hotel normally does not have lounge service. Breakfast Buffett is delicious and I particularly enjoy fresh squeeze juices. David N made himself available via Wechat and we feel like we were taken care of 24/7 This is my favourite hotel in Guangzhou !

Checked in early and everything was ready. Late check out at 4 p.m. no problem with status and staff super friendly and accommodating. Japanese restaurant is amazing and the hotel is within walking distance of Guangdong museum and the waterfront with Canton Tower. Go at night and watch the lights! Rooms spacious, comfortable, unlimited supply of water and both times we stayed we were treated to fruits and sweets which came with a personalized card. Lounge opens 5.30 p.m.with good food and wine selection. Special shout out to Fabian assistant GM fir taking good care of us. We'll be back!

W Hotel Guangzhou upgraded to one bedroom fantastic suite with platinum elite status . Received upgrade day prior to arrival.Hotel is modern chick design and what I love most about the hotel is their onsite service . Our room was not available for check in and there was 30 minutes wait. We waited by the lobby bar and ordered drinks ( courtesy of front desk) . Suite has the best bathrooms I have seen with 2 separate toilets ( automated ) from the bathroom which has a TV on the mirror screen at the end of the bathtub. Tyson hair dryer ( if it’s missing at check out , I am sure they will charge it to my room!) club lounge only opened 5-7:30 pm but good variety of snacks and drinks . Morning breakfast at main restaurant is comparable to Crystal cruises since there is a fresh juice bar and I got my carrot celery lemon Joice ( they did not have ginger ) But when I passed by the bar again , juice lady told me she got some ginger from the kitchen . this is customer service to the MAX. The experience of Guangzhou W in Liede is below average The services and facilities are underpriced In addition to the location is basically no other bright spot The biggest surprise was getting bitten by mosquitoes while sitting in the Woobar. The Wi-Fi is very poor, often freezes, and the network speed is still very slow; The Welcome fruit is not fresh. The nectarine has scars, and it feels like the previous customer didn't eat it and took it back for reuse; The original color of the hotel is black, and dust will be very conspicuous. In the guest room, you can clearly see a lot of fluffy dust floating on the table, wall, and TV; The environment of the Woobar of the hotel has not been cleaned up. W Hotel is not a villa or a resort. It is located in the CBD of the city center. I was bitten by mosquitoes on my hands and feet during happy hour in the Woobar, exm? It is understandable that the executive lounge is closed due to the COVID-19. When happy hour is transferred to Woobar, the level and quality should not be kept. It provides hot food and some simple drinks and soft drinks, and only red wine is available. White wine, whiskey, rum and other alcohols that the lounge should have gone, and desserts only have one pudding and two chocolate desserts. Even the basic and necessary equipment such as cookies and cheese is also cancelled. In summary, W Hotel is extremely cost-effective.

I stayed exactly at X'mas day and wasn't aware that the girls at lounge were organizing a party for member until check-in time as I missed the advance email invitation. They actually sent personal invitation at my room as soon as i got in!
The daily happy hour snack buffet turned out to be a special tummy-filling yummy feast, roast ham is impressive! They organized a party for everyone with all the details addresed. They were making sure everybody is happy, getting us involved from lucky draw, sweet treats within individual table visit and taking polariod! The 2 hours party was filled with laughter and joy!
Ciber is such a sweet girl and very attentive! I was being taken care of from drinks to dessert through the whole meal time. Aimee is very professional and very well-experienced, enjoying the chat alot with this charming girl! Jodie is so kind and I enjoy the hospitality at the most!

It was very nice of the hotel to have upgraded my room to a the Fantastic Suite. The marbled bathroom was essential after a busy day exploring Guangzhou. The duvet is one of the most comfortable I've ever had in a hotel and great bathrobe too!
The executive lounge was a very relaxing area where you can chill with friends with drinks and nibbles. There were nice sofa areas with boardgames to enjoy. I would definitely recommend you to drop by.
The swimming pool was quite busy during our stay, but the gym was very spacious.
There was live DJ at the lounge bar with very attentive waiters.
The buffet breakfast offered a big selection of choices even amidst COVID.
All staff were professional and did a nice job in reminding guests to keep their masks on in all public areas (including getting food at buffet)

I recently completed a 3 night stay at the W Guangzhou for the Canton Fair. The hotel is quirky in nature, as are all W’s, and it reminded me of the W Hong Kong in some ways.
The reception area was chaotic upon arrival, with loads of luggage lying scattered around. The first thing that was apparent to me is that many of the staff struggle with basic English. This was surprising considering it’s a 5-star hotel in an international city like Guangzhou. The reception area has 4 desks and at times it’s difficult to distinguish which desk is for what due to a lack of signage.
I was allocated a room on the 7th floor at first and that proved to be a disaster. The room was located directly behind the lifts, and i could hear a droning sound every time the lifts moved. The back garden view of this room was also dreadful.
I asked for my room to be changed and was given a much better room on a higher floor, with a view of the Guangzhou skyline. This room was a vast improvement on my previous one and i really loved it. The room was spacious and well-appointed, and you can never go wrong if you have TOTO sanitaryware in your bathrooms.
The room rate during the Canton Fair also feels quite extortionate, considering it is three times the normal rate. The buffet breakfast was adequate, and i ate dinner at the Kitchen Table on the 2nd floor one night, and it was pretty average.
My overall impression of the W Guangzhou is that the rooms are excellent, but there are major gaps in overall service that require improvement. They are competing with many 5- star hotels in Guangzhou, some who offer better value, and must ensure that their service levels improve.

My recent stay at W Guangzhou on November 6, 2023, unfortunately, did not meet my expectations, leaving me deeply disappointed.
Despite having stayed at this establishment four years ago and relishing a memorable experience, this visit fell significantly short. I was informed of a room upgrade, but the reality was a stark contrast to what was promised. The room allocated to me was inadequately lit and situated on a lower floor, contrary to my anticipation of an upgrade to a higher floor.
Moreover, the state of the room's maintenance was disheartening. The broken coffee machine, a hole in the bed light, and a malfunctioning bathroom light significantly impacted the quality of my stay. The lack of proper lighting in the bathroom made simple tasks like applying makeup an arduous and frustrating experience.
Adding to the dismay was the unwelcome presence of a mosquito in the room during the night, a distressing inconvenience. Although I promptly notified the management, the resolution provided was inadequate. Only the coffee machine was replaced, and a mosquito repellent machine was provided, while the other maintenance issues remained unaddressed.
The manager attributed these problems to the hotel's age, stating that facilities tend to deteriorate over time. However, I firmly believe that diligent management and meticulous room inspections post-guest departure are imperative to uphold the standards of a reputed establishment.
Despite being assured of follow-up communication regarding my concerns, I regret to report that no such contact was made throughout my two-week stay in Guangzhou.
Overall, my experience at W Guangzhou on November 6, 2023, was disappointing and did not align with the standards expected from this brand.

We’ve stayed at the W this past week for a business Expo. The rooms are lovely, clean and have everything you’d need with incredibly comfortable beds. The bathroom is big and every colleague has said they have a good view.
To say the service has been a let down would be an understatement, considering this is a 5* hotel. Not even sure where to begin but I’ll try.
There are around 40 of us staying for the week, on the first night the bar ran out of 3/5 options of red wine on the menu without replenishing the next day.. or even the rest of our visit. There are currently 2 red wines left on the menu. Service is SLOW, it takes anywhere from 20-40 minutes to get a drink at the bar. We came down one evening and ordered a cocktail, it didn’t come for a while and when we asked why we were told the bartender was on a break and no one else was trained to make drinks… surely you’d have more than one barman from 5:30pm onwards, or not have your only barman on a break? Our drinks have been given to the wrong table countless times. Even asking for a bill can take up to 30 minutes!
The food for breakfast is okay, mixture of western and Chinese options. The only thing letting it down is the temperature, none of the plates are warm and the hot plates aren’t very hot so often the breakfast items are cold. The dining area is also quite small for the amount of guests. I think I’ve been offered water or tea/coffee once this entire week, literally no one comes over to check that you have a drink. You have to ask for everything 5 times over before you get it, literally get better service in Nando’s.
At lunch it’s basically the same story, there were different options each day and all of the food was generally very tasty just not always hot. It was nice having sushi & a sushimi bar. You can help yourself to tinned drinks (cola, 7up etc) and on some days we had a glass of water but most of the week nothing.
The reception isn’t in an obvious place when you walk in and there isn’t any signage. The lounge area looks pretty but there are only plug sockets on one tall table with very uncomfortable chairs.
I know this is a very mixed review but we definitely wouldn’t come back despite how lovely the rooms are. The hotel is beautiful but the service really has let it down, for an international hotel there are very few English speakers. Whilst I appreciate we haven’t learned mandarin I didn’t think we’d struggle to order a G&T.

It was an amazing experience to celebrate with my kids for two days in W Guangzhou. This property located in the middle of the CBD area, and you may find various famous restaurants and stores around in this area. Of course, this hotel also provides you fully functional facilities including all type of foods for whatever you want there.. High quality and nice price!! Specially thanks to the staff Daniel Yuan, he was extremely helpful and concerned with all my needs. He did an amazing arrangement and well-dressed to my room before we arrived. Besides, Salla and Lucy also did help me a lot, I appreciated all of them.
