My family of 4 (including 2 teen boys) will be visiting Hakone for 1 night in July and it'lll be our first time trying Onzen. We'd like to seek some advice deciding between Ten-yu (room with an open-air bath) or a private villa at Mikawaya Ryokan? The private open-air bath at Mikawaya Ryokan seems bigger and may be able to fit 4 people together? Ten-yu seems to have nicer public Onzen settings while the private one is for 1 person? So we should pick Mikawaya if we like private Onzen and Tenyu if we are ok to try the public ones? Are both locations equally convenient to visit nearby places? Both includes dinner and breakfast and cost about the same (Ten-yu's shabu shabu dinner looks nicer) Appreciate any advice. Thank you.
