作為發展長達15年的 Kpop 天團 Super Junior 成員的崔始源，在2005年出道，更因2009年一首《Sorry Sorry》代表作席捲亞洲，逐步鞏固天團地位。而作為外貌擔當的崔始源，雖然歌喉、舞技不及團員們出眾，但憑着精緻的五官和高挑均稱的模特兒身材，俘虜許多年輕少艾的歡心。

雖然是螢幕的外貌擔當，但完全沒有偶像包袱，私底下的他無論是鏡頭前後，毫不吝嗇展示調皮可愛的真性情，真誠的滑稽模樣一再感染電視機前的粉絲們。一路上除了唱跳歌手身分之外，更在2003年開始嘗試多元化發展，不斷在影視圈內累積豐富的演員經驗，出演過的電視劇、電影都比比皆是，也許因為這樣他所飾演的角色從高富帥主人翁、古代將軍到時裝雜誌編輯或是運動員等，輕易駕馭各種螢幕形象。

向來為崔始源都喜歡以西裝造型示人，一副好身材架起西裝則顯得官仔骨骨。如今33歲的他，散發出成熟的男性魅力，不亞於年輕少男們的書生氣質，反而更著重於個人發展、健康和信仰之上。一直以來信仰虔誠的始源會定期參與教會活動，更因為信仰的關係印象自己對世界的想法和價值，在2010年成為聯合國兒童基金會宣傳大使、2015年成為該基金會的韓國委員會特別代表、2019年被任命為聯合國兒童基金會東亞太平洋地區親善大使，不惜脫去冠冕堂皇的服飾，以一身樸實 t-shirt 運動服與他走遍世界各地，幫助及探訪各地需要幫助的兒童，由此可見其善良溫暖的個性，透過自己的藝人身分去宣揚正面的觀念，絕對是公眾人物的最佳典範之一。
