Had an amazing time. Ben was warm, thorough and professional. He read choice excerpts of Dickens writing and added little known facts to the journey.

We are Londoners and my son has just been reading Oliver Twist. This walking tour was fascinating, bringing areas of London to life that I have cycled past for years. Thoroughly recommend. My 13 year old said "thoroughly brilliant, the highlight of my half term'.

What a stroke of luck that the Dickens Museum recommended Ben Nolan to guide our tour of Oliver Twist's London! It's rare to meet someone so capable of combining depth with fun. Our group consisted of university students and their instructors (one of whom was me), and not only did he deepen their knowledge of London and the novel, he also asked a few well-placed questions to suss out students' broader interests in history, literature, and culture, so that he could adapt the tour as we went to address those. At the end of our course, our students unanimously proclaimed that future versions of our program should include one of Ben's tours.

I never leave reviews, but just had the Dickens tour with Ben and it was brill! Super knowledgable and lovely. A beautiful walk around London with lots of fun facts about the writer, but also different bits of history on top. I’m a born n bred Londoner and work in the area but I learnt a lot and see the area completely differently now. Will defo do again and recommend!

Ben's Twists and Turns tour taking us round places mentioned in Dickens's novel Oliver Twist was everything I hoped it would be. Ben really brought Dickens and his world to life, I was thrilled to visit the real places where Dickens set some of the most important scenes in his novel, Ben pitched his tour just right for his audience which included both adults and children.
I would definitely highly recommend this tour and look forward to going on more of Ben's tours in the future. Full marks.

We enjoyed a rock tour with a special focus on the Beatles, but also included other acts such as Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, Oasis and many others.
Ben showed us the famous Abbey Road crossing where we could take fotos. He introduced to us places where album covers were shot, recording studios, venues where the bands played, the famous Carnaby Street, the art gallery where John met Yoko and the building where the Beatles played for the last time on the roof of their offices. We even saw the taylor where the fancy suits were designed.
Ben is an excellent guide with the knowledge of an encyclopedia that he wrapped in a lovely exciting tour where time just flew. We love going back to our pictures remembering the stories behind the places.
Ben tailored the tour to our preferences so that we really enjoyed a unique experience. Next time we come to London we will definitely book one of his many other exciting tours.

I had visited the Charles Dickens Museum last year and seen there was a walking tour 'Twists and Turns of Oliver Twist' attached to the museum once a month run by Ben's City Tours. I signed up to the next available date and got very lucky on a beautiful blue skied, bright Sunday morning. Perfect weather for a walking tour. .
Ben is a very knowledgeable and friendly guide with a wealth of knowledge about Dickens London and how it inspired his classic 1838 novel of English Literature, Oliver Twist. Starting outside Dickens House, Ben took a small group in his footsteps through the neighbourhoods and alleyways he would have traversed, conjuring up the story from real places very dangerous in Victorian London, like the site of Fagins Lair and the pub Bill Sykes drank, to people he knew and how he highlighted social injustice and child poverty in London through the story of Oliver Twist.
Ben's Tour also brought to life other points of interests in Dickens shadow, the impact he had on Smithfields Meat Market, executions at the Old Bailey and other fascinating Victorian secrets buried under modern-day London.

Such a great day out in London with Ben! The tour was tailored to us so we did a walk along the river where Ben gave us little nuggets of interesting info. I usually never remember anything i learn on tours but Ben's knowledge of London is so broad and his stories are so engaging that you will definitely learn something! I now know where the King's wardrobe is!

Despite London hitting us with typical December weather, Ben took us on a short but really informative tour of the Southbank and surround. Great combination of brilliant facts and lovely enthusiasm. Highly recommended!
