Clintonville, Wisconsin, is a community that's located in Waupaca County. It's a vibrant city steeped in rich history and small-town charm.
There's a lot for history lovers to explore, including carefully preserved buildings that date to the 1800s.
The town gained fame as the birthplace of the first four wheel drive car. Just behind the machine shop where this technology was invented, there's another amazing thing that you could easily miss.
The little park, called Pioneer Park, has an extraordinary relic - an authentic segment of the Great Wall of China.
The wall is topped by two small statues, and it's the real thing - a section of the Great Wall. The bricks are over 1,700 years old.
The wall is connected to the four wheel drive vehicles produced here. Those early trucks provided access to China's vast interior, and they were used in a project that removed part of the wall to make room for a railway. Chinese Leader Sun Yat Sen allowed this portion of wall to be taken to Clintonville; and it's the only section of the wall that's known to have left the country.
