The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam offers a satisfactory array of amenities, including a diverse breakfast selection and a prime location favored by shoppers, though some guests noted limited in-room features and elevator delays. While service received mixed reviews, the staff's friendliness stood out, despite some check-in and billing hiccups. The staff were very accommodating at the front desk. The room was clean and the view was great. I used the gym which had basic necessities. Also the pool was great. Unfortunately they didn’t have buffet breakfast due to the hotel being under 50% occupancy but the discounted price of the room was a great deal for the service, location and amenities.

Staffs at the Concierge counter are very efficient. Always welcome with smiley service.
Breakfast room staffs (Was, Whan, Kik, Assadawut, and Aoy) are incredible full of service mind. We were always late for breakfast. They looked over us so well, approached us with help to get our last dishes at last order. Feel very comfortable with the idea of giving plastic gloves for breakfast line.
Housekeeping made up our rooms very neat and clean. Sorry I did not get the staffs name. One more thing to mention is about the towels reusing. Our towels were changed everyday even we put them in the shelves when the sticker in the bathroom is saying towels will be changed when they are putting in the bathtub and floor. Also, bathrobe was not replaced after making up the room. But this was not a big deal. We do more concern about energy saving and reusing towels.
The rest are comfortable and great location in the middle of the city.

We stayed 2 nights in The Berkeley Hotel in November 2019. It's a large, busy hotel with many rooms. Upon check-in, we were asked to deposit one passport and sum of money as security deposit. Check-in process was smooth and we were led to our room by a steward. The walk to our room was not great. We had to take an elevator to one of the floors, then walk to the other side of the hotel block and take another elevator to the room. This was tiresome, specially for people who just want to spend their maximum time travelling. The walk from the hotel lobby to our room would take around 10-15 minutes, which we felt was cumbersome.

The room itself was well equipped, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was well equipped and clean, no issues there. On the 2nd night, the air conditioner in our room broke down in the middle of the night and we had to call the reception for help. The hotel sent a maintenance person within minutes, however the issue wasn't resolved. Meanwhile, my friends who were staying in the adjacent room got locked out of their room because the keycard swipe mechanism would just beep constantly. This too happened in the middle of the night and it caused a disturbance to everyone on the floor.

Other than these two instances, the rest of the experience was smooth. Would recommend this hotel

This is the 2nd time I booked this hotel for the 4 nights accommodation. Was offered complimentary upgrade of room this time round due to closure of North Tower for Premier triple room.
There are a few points which I wish to compliment on:
1) Good conceige service - Complimentary shuttle bus service provided for hotel guests to the various shopping Malls and nearest chidlom BTS station. Weekend Free shuttle service to the Chatuchak market is definitely a plus point. The conceige staff are helpful and polite.
2) Front desk staff are friendly and helpful, the checking in and out is hassle free too.
3) the room kept clean and the bed was comfy as well. Toiletries and necessities were promptly replenished everyday.
4) Buffet breakfast is Good and with great varieties, definitely spoilt for choice!
Highly recommended 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

It was nice staying at The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam. Staffs are friendly and approachable especially Mr. Anantachai Pumracha , the dining room's captain who is very accommodating and always has a smile on his face. Clean room, delicious food and good location for tourist. Accessible to all malls like Paladuim, Platinum, Isetan, my favorite Big C, pratanum night market and 2 blocks away from Siam Paragon. Most importantly the Neon Night Market Platinum Bangkok Thailand is just right beside the hotel where you can enjoy night shopping and foodtrips. Across the street you can find its famous pratanum chicken and also the SuperRich foreign exchange which gives very good value if you want to exchanhe your pesos to baht. Believe me Superrich is the best. To top it all I give this a 5 star for this hotel👍

Its a great hotel in a good location (Central Mall is walking distance). Check in was smooth and fast and rooms are HUGE with a great view. Very neat and clean rooms. Breakfast was a feast with all tastes catered for, though we had to wait a long time to get a table on December 29th as it was rather crowded. Swimming pool is also great though water is cold.
The night market downstairs was great. Was not a fan off the mall next to the hotel, I would suggest you visit Platinum Mall which is 3 mins walk away. For currency exchange, walk towards the river taxi where you will get a better deal.

It looks like the hotel is very popular due to its location at the Pratunam area. It's a little old and to maintain its 5 star status, it probably needs some upgrading and renovation. Nevertheless, it's nice to stay here as it is surrounded by shopping haven. The reception area could be very congested during peak check in hours.
The room was comfortable and generally quiet though the sound insulation from outside corridor may not be perfect. Basic amenities in the room. One can request some additional if needed. There were good number of food choices for breakfast and lunch, even for vegetarians like me.

Our experience with this hotel has been, at the time of writing, disappointing. We are currently here initially for the 24 hour quarantine period until negative test results as required by the Thai pass in an SHA+ hotel. Even before travel in trying to ensure our RSVP/booking met criteria was met with bad customer service as we got vague emails back or no response at all. We paid more than 10 times the amount for our first night stay with the quarantine package which requires a PCR test for two upon arrival and catered 3 meals to the room while we await results. Our breakfast was served late and cold and they had the wrong order. Our lunch was more or less an hour late and it wasn't until I complained and talked to three different people about it we finally were fed. I'm not sure why we spent close to $200 for the one night for such lackluster service and to be starved while in quarantine. We are still awaiting our test results, which they say within 4-6 hours but that is only if you arrive during the day. We arrived at night and had to wait till next morning for our tests and results have not arrived within 4 hours. Our hotel room is outdated with dust on the window sills and with a non-functioning TV remote. I'm not sure why this is rated as a 5 star hotel because it certainly is not...

Our family of four stayed 4 nights at the Berkeley Hotel Pratunam. We booked directly with the hotel and were offered several discounts at the restaurants and bakery.

On arrival at the hotel, the reception area smelled as if someone had opened a hundred durians. I have never smelled anything like it. It only cleared on our last day there.

During our stay, we had dinner for our first 3 nights at The Oak Bar, this because we found out that The Berkeley Dining Room was closed for dinner when we went there on our first evening, Although we were entitled to 20% off our food bill, this was often forgotten, even after telling the serving staff that we had booked directly with the hotel, and it was not subtracted from what we had to pay. Having thought that we had the discount after mentioning it, It was difficult to get this amount credited at the reception (including where we had paid one of the restaurant bills in cash, and they therefore couldn't refund what was due!?) In the end, the restaurant staff gave us 2 free cocktails as compensation.
Further to this, on the third evening at The Oak Bar, two guys came and sat with some good time girls at the table right next to us. We were there as a family with our two daughters, and it was embarrassing to say the least. I am not a prude, but I really didn't expect the girlie bar experience in a restaurant inside a 5-star hotel? On our 4th and final night, we therefore decided to eat at the adjacent Amari hotel.

Our family suite on a high floor did offer great views of Bangkok, but as others have noted, rooms are in need of some renovation, with showers having irregular water temperature. The staff are friendly at reception/concierge and attentive in the restaurants. Housekeeping was very fast to pick up laundry and bring extra pillows when we asked.

As often is the case, the food and drinks at The Oak Bar were of very good quality if you just stick to wonderful Thai food (I don't recommend the Australian steak, it was very chewy). Breakfast (located at the otherwise closed Berkeley Dining Room) was a large buffet with much food catering to the majority Chinese tour groups staying at the hotel. It opens at 6 a.m., so if you're in Bangkok for touring, you need to get here as soon as it opens due to the early day tour pickups. We don't recommend converting your breakfast voucher into a breakfast box (which you can pick up at the lobby), as these contain just two tiny sandwiches, an apple, a small croissant/pastry and a small pack of orange juice. Go at 6 a.m. to breakfast, use the restrooms adjacent, and then head down to the lobby to meet your tour pickup.

The Palladium World Shopping Centre is more a bazaar than an upmarket mall. It does have a Boots, 7-Eleven, McDonalds and Starbucks. There is also a money exchange. Access is directly from inside the hotel into the mall

I stayed at The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam with my family during vacation and it was the best hotel I've stayed in Bangkok. The best part is the location, as it is centrally located in Pratunam and has attached entrance to Palladium Mall and is adjacent to Neon Night Market and a 7 Eleven. The food is also delicious and I recommended that all foodies must try the Seafood Buffet on Fridays and Saturdays. They also kept our luggage for a week as we went further to Koh Samui and came back later. They also let us check out late, at 2 as a direct booking benefit. Also, by direct booking from their website, we got a better rate.

Hi, from our experience; - North Tower has its own dining area, more convenient. But we did have our bf at the Main Tower on the last morning die to closure. Very packed then. - No bathtub for us at North Tower - standing bath for us, no direct view of the bedroom, just a slight angle. Hope they help.
