- I visited this place🇺🇸🇫🇷🇬🇷🇨🇭🇬🇧Israel15,160 contributionsPROS
• Great massive mountain top plateau giving amazing views of snow covered mountain peaks
• Breathtaking scenery in all directions- from the two tranquil lakes to the towering peaks
• A variety of good and challenging hikes, but also easier ones
• Starting point for many varied hikes, including the day-long trek to Faulhorn and down to Lake Bachalpsee, First and finally Grindelwald.
• Restaurant and Alpine Flower Garden are popular places to visit too
• The cost of the antique 125+ year old slow train is covered by the Berner Oberland Pass.
CONS
The slow train ride from Wilderswil
“I VISITED THIS PLACE”…
… because I hiked from here to the peak of Oberberghorn the previous year and loved it so much that I had to return and hike with my 30 year old son. rea
We very much enjoyed our time at the top, including exploring the area at the top of the train depot and the restaurant building and then our journey to the top of the Oberberghorn, where the uninterrupted 360 degrees birds eye view was unequaled. The climb to the top on rickety ladders was also exciting 🙄 again
The weather was quite cloudy and overcast and it was not warm, and that clearly affected what we did and how much we enjoyed our visit. I wish that we could have stayed longer and explored and hiked more.
WAS IT WORTH THE COST
Sure- it is covered by the Berner Oberland Pass
WOULD "I VISIT THIS PLACE" AGAIN?
Sure- I'd love another chance to hike here on a clear warm sunny day
ADVICE
* Be prepared to endure the annoying slow train ride of almost an hour
* Arrive to Wilderswil train station plenty of time before the scheduled departure, so as to ensure a seat
* Be prepared for small seating compartments with every seat taken.
* Enjoy the incredible fantastic unbelievable 360 degree classic Swiss Alpine scenery

The facility is beautiful. All products wonderfully displayed.
Wanted to try the unique red berry gin and the more classic one. Neither one really appealed to my taste.
Tried a few whiskies. Again, nothing really special. They charge 2 Swiss francs per taste, which would be almost fair if they would pour more than to just wet the bottom of the glass.
I decided to buy a whisky that I did not taste at the distillery...the 7 year aged Rock Label Swiss Wood Finished whisky. Its description was more in line with my refined taste.
After flying back home, I opened it and was rather disappointed. The nose was too soft and the taste was not as complex as 7 year old whisky should purport. What surprised me more was that there was no aftertaste.
For the money....just get the Two lake whisky. For the price, you get a nice beginner's whisky with more flavor than the much more expensive ones.Written September 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This is where most of the para gliders land after their long jump from the mountains. People are mostly here to picnic, people watch, exercise and just chill out. A very nice place also for photo op due to the scenic mountains and view. A must place to see in the area.Written July 25, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- BrakiWorldTravelerBelgrade, Serbia17,797 contributionsInterlaken is rather a lodging base town to explore its surroundings, than a sightseeing destination. It has a nice setting between the Brienzer Lake and Thun Lake.
There're two Churches to visit at this site - the Reformist Church and Roman Catholic standing one by another.
Schlosskirche is actually the Reformist Church and is older than the Catholic one next door. It also has an adjacent monastery. We were lucky being there at the Sunday morning Mass.Written April 8, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CrimitoriiHawthorn, Australia469 contributionsNot much to add - old ruined castle, irregular steps etc. There is a hard way from above or a very easy way from the road just below the castle. We came from above, near the Credo Schloss hotel, but access from the road Unspunnenstrasse is much easier, as we found out after we'd climbed up to the ruins then down. There are iron hand-rails to keep you safe, though. Worth a look, especially if you haven't seen a ruined castle before - and there are lots of them in Europe.Written October 3, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
