We had a great week at the hotel. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. It is set on hillside so with the heat can be a struggle for some but they have an excellent buggy service. Just have to phone reception or ask staff member and golf buggies will take you anywhere on the grounds. Happy hour at the ocean lounge is very pleasant. There are a couple of restaurants in easy walking distance of hotel and prices for meal with drinks for 2 under 1000 Baht. If you want to go a little further taxis are ridiculously cheap as well and there is a rank opposite the hotel.

We have just returned from the Anantara and have had the most fabulous week. We were lucky enough to be able to upgrade to a villa with pool as one had become available a few days before we arrived and could not have been happier with our decision.. The Villa, pool, space, was just perfect and one of the best rooms we have ever stayed in. The hotel is in a great location and has its own beach with paddle boards/kayaks to use free of charge. Chewang is only a ten minute drive away and coming back to the hotel after there is like entering an oasis. Taxis and trucks are always outside and the security guards will not only flag them down for you but stop all the traffic so you can cross road safely. Breakfasts down by the beach are excellent with an amazing choice. There was a slight queue one morning for eggs so I decided to sit back down at my table and wait (not a problem), within seconds one of the staff came up to me, apologised and took my order from the table. It’s little touches like this that makes it extra special. The staff are so friendly, happy and welcoming, they make you feel like you have been going to the hotel for years, nothing is too much trouble for them. We were celebrating my wife’s birthday and a belated anniversary and upon arrival the bed was made up with a beautiful flower decoration, as well as having a cake and bottle of fizz. This was such a nice surprise and a lovely touch. Correspondence with hotel prior to our visit was top class. I had a few questions and request which were answered immediately with no problems at all. I would like to say a special mention and huge thank you to Bronji who was so helpful and kind both prior to and during our stay. We would also like to say a big thank you to Sunny who looked after us so well and treated like old friends. However, every single member of staff were fantastic so thank you all. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anybody- you will not be disappointed and if we return to Koh Samui, this would be our only choice. Well done Anantara - a truly memorable stay.

I would like to thank everyone at the Anantara Lawana for making our stay around New Year Eve absolutely perfect. We booked two adjacent pool rooms. The rooms are spacious, well decorated and superbly maintained. The private pool with only 6 rooms around it is lovely, creating a private, calm and peaceful setting. Cleaning and turn down are done perfectly, very discreetly and perfectly on time everyday. The whole resort is well organized: rooms are at the top of the little hill, hence very quiet and restaurants and beach downhill where you overlook at the cosy little beach and infinity pool. The gardens, paths, general setting are very harmonious and give the feeling of walking in a private beautiful garden. We were beautifully looked after by Khun Noey, our personal host. She is the loveliest, most efficient young lady: all our queries, questions were dealt within minutes! Her recommendations always very reliable. We already miss her beautiful smile and kindness. Thank you so much, Khun Noey ! The staff at the breakfast room and beach restaurant are very kind and efficient. They always remember what your favorite food is and greet you with smiles and jokes. We had a great dinner at the Tree top where Khun May took care of our family. I also wrote a review to make justice to the creative young chef’s cuisine. We also experienced very good and professional massages at the beautiful spa where Khun Penny, spa manager, recommended two wonderful therapists: Khun Karn and Khun Prong. All in all, we initially planned to stay only 4 nights but we felt so relaxed and pampered that we extended our stay over the New Year. In those rough times, it is very brave of Anantara to stay fully open, maintaining a manicured resort and employing happy staff. Well done to all the team, thank you again for a wonderful stay.

This was our first post-lockdown trip. Since we couldn't travel internationally yet, we decided to go to Koh Samui. (We live in Bangkok). The staff here are some of the most attentive I have ever experienced always making sure you have anything and everything you need. Covid-19 measures are in place, and they make you feel very safe. Everything is very clean, you receive sanitized cutlery in a plastic wrap at every meal, menus are scanned from a QR code, breakfast is all ala carte and delicious. We had a basic room and loved it. Very spacious, new, and with a giant stone tub if you like baths. We also liked the covered deck off the bedroom with shades for privacy. The only thing that was a little disappointing was the beach, but they have no control over that. At low tide it is very shallow and not the best for swimming, but who cares when you have a beautiful infinity pool to enjoy? You can also kayak or paddle board to an offshore island which was fun. I would recommend this resort and stay here again.

The period when I stayed there was a quiet one, because of the absence of the large number of tourists usually on Samui due to the Thai border being closed to tourists. I stayed in a room with its own plunge pool. During my 3-night visit I stayed at the resort the entire time. The restaurants and facilities are fine to provide R&R and occupy one's time for a trip of 3 nights without feeling the need to venture out.
During my stay the staff was exceedingly attentive and helpful. I had not booked transportation to the hotel from the airport, but when I saw their staff waiting to meet other arriving guests at the airport, they were more than happy to call another van for us for far cheaper than the Grab fare I was quoted.
Although you can have breakfast served in your room, every morning I chose to eat at The Ocean Kiss restaurant. Although the breakfast is not currently a buffet, they had a wide variety of things and the breakfast was great. For 2 of the dinners I ate at the Pool Bar. The staff was happy to set up a table with a great view. The menu features a mix of Western and Southern Thai dishes that were all well prepared; there were some Southern Thai dishes I'd never had before but everything we ordered was delicious. One Night we ate at the Tree Tops restaurant. This is an excellent Fine Dining experience, served literally high up at tree level with great views; the wine pairing there is a particularly excellent deal compared to other similar restaurants.

We can’t speak highly enough of the service staff! My husband and I were spoilt rotten at Anantara. At every touch point, from reception to breakfast to poolside to dinner, the service rendered was amazing. The staff all seem to know us by our names! Housekeeping was also meticulous and ensured our rooms were clean and tidy throughout our stay. And as it was my husband’s birthday, the team arranged plenty of lovely and delightful surprises for him. The breakfast spread was one of the best selection and quality that I’ve had. We also tried the Crabshack which served amazingly fresh seafood! And the White theme party- which was the open air buffet with live stations was such a great treat at a real bargain price. All the food was freshly prepared at the live stations and was utterly delicious. The ambience was romantic and the fire show entertainment was simply amazing! We stayed at the villa with plunge pool and it was so fun with our own swing and pool! The room was spacious and luscious and the bed comfortable and clean. There were so many thoughtful amenities like a beach bag, plenty of complimentary water, mosquito repellant, and even flip flops! Pool side and on the beach, there was plenty of sunbeds for everyone and the service was always attentive and friendly. There is even complimentary sun lotion provided and the staff will come by every now and again with refreshing cold towels and lollies and fruit! Location wise, we were 5 mins from the airport- no time wasted on the road! Across from it was convenience stores and local restaurants should you want to venture out. All in all, NOTHING to complain about and we’d definitely stay at Anantara again for our next visit!

We stayed here during November which is low season. The service is outstanding. The staff really go the extra mile to ensure your stay is enjoyable. It was my partners birthday while we stayed, and they simply overheard a us mention it then organised a cake, a song and some champagne. We stayed in the plunge pool room, and having our own private pool made us feel like high flyers, and this was affordable in the low season. The buffet breakfasts alone are a reason to stay at Anantara - it was our favourite time of day! The pool bar and crab shack were a great place to wind down at the end of a day of sight seeing. Honestly, you could stay in this resort and never leave. Loved every second of it. Close to the airport and Chaweng beach.

Just stayed here this week for 2 nights. Anantara resorts is our preferred choice of accommodation in Thailand. This one lives up to our expectation and beyond. The Discovery membership team and Villa host Sunny had been proactively in contact from the beginning of our booking to ensure that everything is perfectly arranged for our stay. We chose a plunge pool villa of 90 sq.m. The space has been divided evenly for the outdoor lounge area + pool, bedroom and bathroom, making our bedroom area seemed smaller than expected. And no view from the villa. Nonetheless, might be that's the type of room we chose, so no complaints. Again, the service and the staff is just absolutely outstanding. And the restaurant food is again surprisingly delicious with reasonable pricing. Breakfast offering is still all you can eat but cooked to the order. Having lived in BKK for 10 years, I tasted some of the best Thai food within Anatara properties! Because of the lack of tourists, Koh Samui has been extremely quiet, but we do enjoy the tranquity at the resort. The hotel is only 10 mins from the airport and 10 mins from Central Festival where it's within walking distance to Chaweng beach. Very convenient. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Had a chance to stay for 2 nights in their beach front pool villa. Everything was flawless beginning with well maintained facilities and over the top services from their staff (especially Thanks to K Jay & K Rainnie who took extra cares for us during our stay). Room was larger than most of the same category hotel in Kho Samui. Bed was so comfortable we did overslept on first night. There are less in-room lightings and was a little too dark for us at night. Turndown service was also excellent, used towels were refreshed with new ones, and shower room was cleaned up too! Breakfast was freshly cooked and served from the a la carte menu (buffet is cancelled for the moment).

I have stayed at a number of the Anantara Hotels over the last two years, but this was my first visit to the Lawana. My intention was to stay for one week, but ended up staying for three, and was treated to a discounted upgrade and a free massage for my trouble. Be assured it was no trouble. I whole heartedly agree with all of the previous reviews. The hotel is far enough away from the airport and flight path that you do not hear any noise but the waves. A taxi ride to the town centre ( which is under the flightpath) is only 200 to 300 Baht and they expect and respect you to barter. There is a Tesco Lotus on the Ring Road to the right of Chewing Main Street, but don't produce your Club Card, that system does not exist here. Sorry no points today. Weird, but it is worth a visit just to see the difference between the UK Tesco and Thai. The same goes for Boots the chemist in the Mall situated just off the Main Chaweng High Street.

Stayed here in October.. it’s about 10 mins (cab) to Chaweng Centre - shops, markets, Bars / Restaurants. 20-25 mins ( cab) to Fisherman Village, loads bars / restaurants. Must visit Coco Tams, great bar and if not raining sit on the beach and watch their great fire show

Cheaper to go up the road ( left turn out of hotel, about 10 min walk) to visit Spa.. ladies wear orange uniforms and are certified.. we had a few treatments between the two of us and paid £15 max total.
There are more places to choose from in the Chaweng area.
