Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club is celebrated for its serene location in Ko Olina and its cleanliness, with many guests praising the well-maintained grounds and modern amenities. The hotel offers a range of amenities, including fitness classes and dining options, although some visitors have noted a lack of pool chairs and high prices. While the service receives accolades for staff attentiveness, there are some concerns regarding room allocation and pool chair management. Travelers have mixed opinions on the atmosphere, with the decor receiving both compliments and calls for updates. Room experiences also vary, with discrepancies between expectations and reality in terms of size, condition, and views, leading some to question the hotel's value for money.

We had a one bedroom suite on the 10th floor overlooking the golf course. The kitchen is large with a full size refrigerator, four burner flat cook top and a dishwasher. There is a stacked washer dryer next to the fridge with soap available. The bath is large with one sink sharing the space with the walk in shower and commode. The other sink is off the bedroom and shares the space with the large soaking tub. There is a nice balcony with a table, two chairs and a lounger. The unit has a large dining table that seats six people. The couch pulls out into a bed. There is a television in the seating area and a second one in the bedroom. Due to COVID precautions, there is no housekeeping service in the rooms. There is a trash room down the hall by the elevators with regular trash and recycling bins. We were able to call for replacement items during the stay that were delivered in a non-contact fashion. We appreciated having our space separate and not having people coming in and out of the room. We rented a cabana for a day. It was separate enough to feel comfortable. There was limited service with one server trying to provide service to all the beach chairs. We simply went up to the Long Board to put in our order. There is a $50 a day charge for the cabana with a $20 credit at Long Board's restaurant. The fish and chips lunch was huge with large flaky pieces of really wonderful beer batter flavor. We had the nachos for a late afternoon snack and it also was large enough for 2 people to share. We stayed at this resort 2 years ago and were on the 2nd floor. We found that to be noisy with the traffic in the parking lot. The 10th floor was much quieter and had a nice view of the mountains and golf course.

I am native Hawaiian visiting Oahu after many years away. A friend gifted me a stay at this resort. Normally I stay at VRBO on north shore or with family, not touristy resorts. This may have to be an exception.

Since it was a gift, I did not have to pay resort fee or parking. I think others do. Towels, shampoo, lotion, TP, coffee, tea, sugar, and other stock essentials were replaced on request (no daily room service).

The staff were really friendly. The property grounds were kept clean. I saw people sanitizing beach chairs, hand rails and other high touch areas.

While there are signs "mask up" signs every where, many tourists did not. I suspect they think since the wind is blowing no mask needed while strolling around the property. So sad! I consider the staff members "essential front line " workers who are here to make sure you have a great experience. At the very least, consider keeping them safe by following the state's COVID rules!

There's a little market on site. Expect the grocery prices to be any where from 30 to 75% higher than Foodland or Walmart.

Cabana benches and beach umbrellas still need to be reserved. The lounge chairs around the pools are first come first serve. Again, tourists were not wearing masks when not eating our drinking.

There is underground parking, which was nice on really hot days. First come first serve.

Would I do this again? Yes

We look forward to our regular return to Ko Olina. The Marriott Beach Club has terrific ocean views, very well appointed units, and has always maintained the quality we expect from Marriott. The location at Ko Olina is perfect - close enough to drive anywhere on the island, but return to an area that is not overrun with people, but has everything one could desire.

We've been owners of two units here since the first building went up in 2003. Vacationed here countless times through several generations of family. This trip is astoundingly bad. I read the previous negative reviews and saw they were written by new TA posters, thought perhaps they were fake. But no. It's really bad.

Staff appear fatigued and stressed, and with good reason. The resort is at 99% capacity (front desk told us at check in), yet they still continue to fill the rooms (I overheard a local family talking about how they scored some last minute discounted points deals for a unit). The pool/beach reservation system is crazy and creates an incredible amount of crowding. There's 50+ person lines at each check in (everyone in your group must be present to receive an armband), there's 30 minute lines at the elevator (everyone goes up and down at the same time due to their pool reservation, and there's only one elevator bank per building with only one person/family allowed per car). Beach chair reservations means that everyone is crowded together on the section that has chairs, as they are unable to position their chairs randomly over the beach with distancing.

Hand sanitizers are few and far between, and usually empty. Masking is not enforced, though most guests are pretty polite and mask or attempt to mask. All staff are masked, which helps to hide their annoyance at Marriott's expectations for them to comply to a ton of extra restrictions while understaffed.

It is a poor decision to allow occupancy at 100% while restaurants, pools, and other public areas are still restricted occupancy. If staffing is also at 100%, its not evident, and staffing should be at over 100% to allow for extra cleaning protocols and crowd control. Though the actual poor decision was for us to come to Koolina expecting any Covid safety measures in place. I can't believe I went through all that Safe Travels hassle to come to the most crowded conditions I've encountered in the past year.

This is a wonderful MVC property situated in the Ko Olina resort area about 20 mi west of Honolulu proper. We are Marriott Titanium Elite but not MVC owners. We stayed four nights on the way to our second destination, Lanai. We had a lovely king ocean view room that included a kitchenette with microwave, mini fridge, toaster and coffee maker. We had rented a car at the HNL airport so stopped at the Safeway that is only a couple miles from the resort to get some beverages, breakfast and snack items for our stay.

The beach is gorgeous with cove swimming areas. Up to 24 hours in advance, you may reserve beach cabanas or chairs with umbrellas for a relatively low fee. The pools are nice but small and large portions are shaded most of the day. The one drawback was that food and drink service at the pools and beach was quite slow/nonexistent and the line to order from the restaurant that served those areas was also typically somewhat long. A lot of MVC owners staying in the larger villas brought in all their own food to grill.

We ate once at the on-site restaurant, Longhi’s, which was pretty good. We recommend walking (.8 mi) or driving down to Ko Olina Center to visit the Island Market ABC store - they sell everything including souvenirs, beer, wine, liquor and many prepared food and grocery items. There are also some cute beach shops and a good restaurant called Monkey Pod there.

Although the housekeeping services were suspended during our stay, the guest services team was extremely responsive to text requests for more towels, toiletries, etc.

We’d definitely return to this resort and recommend it!

I am staying here right now. I had two bookings. One for one night and the other for nine. The issues that I have had in just two days are

1) When we checked in, we requested for an upgrade so we don't need to change our rooms. The staff rudely refused giving an excuse of us having booked through Expedia. I insisted to upgrade for a payment, they still didn't. So basically, if we don't book through Marriott directly, we can never get an upgrade, calling bull**** on that.

2) Because they refused to upgrade, we requested if they could have us check out 2 hours late. Guess what! They can't. For someone who is staying in their property for 10 nights, they can't give 2 hours! They call it service!

3) They had us move to a room that doesn't have a good view of the sunset. Requested for moving us to a room with a better view. Guess what! They have ample amount of rooms available, you can see that by the dark room in the evening where there are no guests. But of course they refused.

4) We checked in to the room and first thing was that our washer doesn't work. Called to get it checked. Guess what! Washer needs to be removed and a new one to be installed. In these Covid times, I have someone in the room changing the washer for an hour. And still they can't give us a room that actually is good enough for the huge price they are charging us per night!

I came back to this property after having a very good 7 night stay. But this time, it's been horrible. Bad experience with the front desk staff. Bad experience with the room. I am afraid I am not coming back here again. You lost out on one of that matters to you at all! Get better!

Management and front desk employees at this resort have been curt, unhelpful, and dismissive of our simple questions about open facility amenities and closed restaurants, how to get food to our room (local grocery/take out delivery services), and state rules on quarantine. They are uninterested in talking to anyone placed in quarantine (due to the Safe Travels website being dysfunctional and the Lt. Gov's office failure to timely perform a manual review of our uploaded negative Covid 19 test results). We were in quarantine from Friday night to Monday night due to the state's IT errors and lack of manpower to answer the only telephone line publicly posted. Marriott staff treated us like pariahs, telling us that we were their only guests in quarantine and that they had other guests who needed their help. We're only here for one week, and lost one-half of our vacation in quarantine while trying to get the state to respond to us and review our uploaded documents. At almost $800/night for our villa, we are outraged that no guest relationship personnel nor management was willing to assist us, let alone welcome us as is the standard for this resort. My advice: Wait until Marriott Ko'Olina and the State of Hawaii get their act together before traveling here and financially contributing to their local economy.

We are local residents and stayed at this resort in February 2021 and again in March 2021. February visit - there is no room service so we ordered takeout from Longhis. Ordered a ribeye and chicken (well over $100 worth of food). Got to the room and realized they did not provide silverware. Went back to restaurant and the hostess said they did not have any to go silverware, and offered us chopsticks. Manager refused to help and would not provide real silverware that we offered to return after use. March visit - the 2 hour pool reservations are inconvenient but we understand Covid restrictions and made a pool reservation for a 2 hour window. We showed up to our pool reservation and were told that the ENTIRE RESORT was out of towels, and would not receive another “towel shipment” for an hour and a half. So we were offered a towel for the last 30 minutes of our pool reservation, and those that couldn’t get a pool reservation couldn’t get a towel to go to the beach. This resort has 0 customer service, and the lack of hospitality is completely unrelated to any necessary Covid precautions. This place is $500+ and I’ve had better service at a courtyard Marriott or even a Days Inn. Do not waste your money here, spend the extra $200 and go to the four seasons or stay in Waikiki.

A return visit after almost 2 1/2 years of hiding from the COVID virus.

Still feeling really good about this property after a one week stay. Check in (for rental guest/NOT Timeshare owner) is quick and efficient. Once again, sent to a lower floor 1 Bedroom Villa because of non owner status, but to be honest, very little time was spent in the room during the day. Decor and kitchen tools and equipment were as remembered and in my opinion well kept and well stocked.

Having the full kitchen means you don't have to spend the $45+ for breakfast, $65+ for lunch and $150 for dinner that's required unless you're into a Kapolei fast food diet, unless you hate to cook. I'm very fond of the ground floor gas barbeques and picking up fresh local fish, local beef or mainland chicken makes for easy main courses. Kapolei grocery stores are just 10 minutes away. So is Costco, but I'm not a member. If you live a more crunchy life, Down to Earth has all the organic, meatless things you're probably interested in and also close by.

Staff is very friendly and welcoming. The pools are well maintained as are the grounds.

The biggest change is learning to accept the lack of daily housekeeping. This is not the only hospitality property that has decided or been forced to suspend housekeeping visits, so it's not a surprise. But if spending the required rate offends you if you have to make your own bed, then it's probably not the place for you in the present era. The property was very good about exchanging bath linens and replenishing things like dish detergent and toilet paper and there is a carpet sweeper in the closet to pick up the obvious crusties that make their way in to the room.

Forty dollars a day for parking may seem outrageous, but it's what the upper scale Hawaiian properties charge and the rate remains unchaged from 2019 (they'll probably raise it now after this review).

There remains very low key solicitation for the timeshare pitch. There are some very attractive perks if you sign up for the presentation, but I just can't bring myself to waste a salesperson's time if I know at the outset I'm not interested. And once you say 'not interested', they move on.

The property was almost at capacity, yet it never felt crowded.

Another winning stay and I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Friendly and helpful staff. We booked an ocean view studio, but the room we got did not have a view of the ocean except from outside the room on the balcony. We expressed our disappointment to the staff, and manager Judd Berrington came to our rescue. He checked out the view, agreed that it was not as advertised, and "jumped through hoops" to get us a satisfactory room. Thanks, Judd!
The resort pools are all beautiful and great for child safety because they are shallow, but the depth is not suitable for adult swimmers to move freely.

No umbrellas, you’ll have to purchase a cabana or hooded chaise lounge. Yes, there is food service on the beach, as well as a full service restaurant, Longboard’s, just steps away.
