DAVE BROSHA // LEADER

Holding a passion for the world and an eye for the beauty it contains, Prince Edward Island-based, award-winning commercial, personal, and adventure photographer Dave Brosha is on a continual journey to seek out and capture the beauty of this world – whether it’s the beauty of some of the most extreme and pristine environments in the world or the beauty of some of a person’s most personal moments. In addition to living throughout northern Canada for much of his life, Dave has also lived in Asia and has travelled extensively through both the many provinces and territories of his native country and numerous countries abroad.  An explorer at heart, his images – no matter what the genre – are full of heart and soul, and are a testament to the human spirit.

KAHLI HINDMARSH // LEADER
Kahli is a landscape, night and adventure photographer originally from Australia. Now spending most of her time travelling between Canada and New Zealand, her work is a reflection of her passions; travel, mountains and inspiring landscapes. Often found hiking in the mountains or chasing the aurora in the middle of the night, Kahli enjoys the challenge of finding unique scenes and interesting light. Sharing these breathtaking landscapes with others while exploring the world is what motivates Kahli, hoping to inspire people to get out and explore for themselves. She has found a deeper purpose within photography by sharing what she has learned from her experience shooting in the field.

About Slovenia

Nestled in the heart of Europe, Slovenia is a small yet vibrant country renowned for its stunning natural beauty, rich history, and diverse cultural heritage. A mostly landlocked country, Slovenia shares borders with Italy, Austria, Hungary, and Croatia. Its landscape is characterized by majestic alpine peaks, tranquil lakes, verdant forests, and picturesque medieval towns. Our photo workshop will visit many of the places it is most famous for, including the Julian Alps and the azure waters of Lake Bled. Additionally, Slovenia boasts a thriving culinary scene, with traditions influenced by its neighbouring countries. 》ITINERARY

The itinerary is subject to change.

April 17-20
three nights - Lake Bled area

This workshop kicks off with us picking you up on the 17th at approximately 1PM, either at the Ljubljana International Airport or a Ljubljana hotel if you have arrived days prior. From there we will relocate to the Famous Lake Bled area and spend 3 days photographing out of the area, which includes hilltop churches, northern mountainous area and Triglav National Park.

April 20-22
two nights

Our group will relocate to the exquisite Soča River valley, which is ripe with waterfalls, the famous turquoise River Soca, massive caves, gorges, and castles.

April 22-24
two nights, end by dropping off at airport on last day

For the finale two days, we will base ourselves out of historic Piran city. This is a Venice-like pedestrian city, and a perfect place for experiencing street photography, along with the coastal beauty of the Adriatic Sea. On the 24th, we will depart Piran in the morning to drop you off at the Ljubljana Airport, the ending place for the workshop. Participants are of course welcome to make their own post-plans.

ACCOMMODATIONS

This workshop is rated "highly comfortable," and our time is spent in nice 3-to-4-star hotels.  While we feel you will find it very comfortable, please note that accommodations will be shared (two participants per room). We will do our best, however, to accommodate friends/spouses travelling together.  A single supplement is available for $650 additional if you are interested (please see info below under Price/Payment Schedule).

All accommodations during the duration of the workshop dates (from kick-off to final group breakfast) are included.

TRANSPORTATION

All in-country transportation will be provided from the time of the formal workshop kick-off to final group breakfast (details of which to be sent to participants upon registration).

WHAT TO EXPECT

The workshop is suitable for participants of all levels of experience in photography. Participants should be prepared for hikes 3-5km over some hilly terrain.

This event focuses primarily on landscape, street, and outdoor photography, but participants are free to ask questions about and practice portrait photography as well. It is worth noting that the workshop will be quite intense in order to maximize field time. Participants are not expected to participate in every aspect of the workshop/tour. It’s up to you to get out as much as you like, though of course it is recommended you give it your all.

WHAT OUR PARTICIPANTS HAVE TO SAY
ABOUT OFFBEAT WORKSHOPS

“Attending this workshop turned into a key moment in my life and one that I will forever remember. The camaraderie, generosity of time and spirit that was shared among the leaders, photographers and the models were very impressive and added to an extremely rewarding experience. Not only are the leaders of OFFBEAT very good photographers, they are very, very good people and yes, I definitely plan on attending future OFFBEAT workshops.”

-M. Ricco

“I felt the level of collaboration and support among the participants in this one was exceptional and so was the size of the group. It is easier to hide in bigger groups when I feel insecure with my skills and talent. The content was timely, appropriate and exceedingly well organized. The facilitators’ presentation skills were exceptional. I came away with a little more confidence and a lot more knowledge. Thanks, Dave and Paul!!!”

-Jan L.

“I've done four OFFBEAT trips so far—all to spots that I never thought I'd see. And I will keep coming back. The quality of the experiences, the photography, and the people are without peer.”

-B. Dodge
