Airline Summary
EVA Air (BR) is based at Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) near Taipei. It is Taiwan's second largest carrier after China Airlines. EVA flies to about 70 destinations within Taiwan, elsewhere in Asia, and in Australia, Europe and North America. It is a member of the Star Alliance. The airline's fleet includes aircraft configured in both three-cabin and two-cabin configurations. Business Class is branded as Royal Laurel Class or Premium Laurel Class, depending on the aircraft. Elite Class is a Premium Economy cabin. And Economy Class is offered on all flights. EVA Air also owns a subsidiary – Uni Air (B7) – that operates domestic and regional flights.

EVA still suffer with late departure times from LHR due to the often late inbound BR067 from Taipei / Bangkok. This is now a very regular occurrence so bear in mind if you have an onward flight to catch from BKK or LHR. Service has declined somewhat since Covid, it seems that the snacks and drinks come around less frequently, and the refreshments at the rear of the aircraft consist of crackers and a selection of juices. Each toilet has a small tray where you can grab a disposable toothbrush and eye mask, but they go pretty quickly, in which case just ask the CC. Food choices are still half decent, IFE is not easy to navigate but offers a decent selection of movies. Charging socket between each Econ seat underneath and each Premium Econ seat. Best Economy seats are 48K thru to 55K Window Seats or 48A-55A window seats, or the aisle version if you prefer to be on that side (48C - 55C or 48H to 55H). Reason being is that you tend to board in section "3". Any Premium Econ seat s good, but there are a couple of window seats with no windows. go figure, they're 21K, 21 A, 24A, 24K. the benefit of these seats though is that very often there won't be anyone sitting next to you. Avoid bulkhead seats at all costs due to limited leg room if you're tall and as they're the bassinet stations. Prices are coming down slightly for all classes as well. Bangkok Departures is no longer a melee and huge queue, it's all electronic kiosks now, much easier and you can check in earlier. I was checked in and through security by 0900 for a 12:45 flight. Weight in Econ and premium econ is 2 pieces of luggage at a max of 23kg each, thus a 46kg allowance , but check your booking rules if you have gone through a Travel Agent. Hand carry weight is very fair and I've never been checked at LHR or BKK. Overall EVA isn't as good as before, aircraft are getting old, service is getting poorer and more expensive. Still one of only 2 direct options from UK to BKK until BA start their service again later this year from LGW.…

Eva Air staff are very helpful and are very nice about things difficult for them to do but still try there best to help and serve the customer travelling with them. The Dinner was OK and could do with a little improving but the breakfast and quality of drinks was of a very high quality. Tea and Coffee was offered frequently during meals and snacks made a very nice touch on a very long haul flight. Eva Air could match the Emirates if they improved on the quality of dinner for all customers. The chairs are comfortable to sit in and the toilets are always kept clean and cleaned by staff and very well stocked with toiletries for all. I think Eva Air current flying cost is value for money. Keep up the good work Eva Air and keep improving to be number one for customers in the air.…

EVA is a great airline, but nothing compared to the experience I had before the CCP virus. Economy seats are awful. Flight attendants amazing. Food? nothing like before the CCP. If you can afford premium economy, those seats are very comfortable, but the $$$ goes way up. I paid for an exit row for legroom $185 wasted dollars, because the seat is basically in the aisle of the premium class..you can't put your legs out without them being stepped on and tripped over.And then there's that damn curtain that kept getting flung against me. 6 It was an horrid experience.…

Greatly disappointed, staff communication is non existent. They managed to extend first leg of flight without any explanation, ended up detouring to bangkok after missing connection and landed 6 hrs late to meet my fiancee. On return flight sat on runway for 2 hrs with no explanation given on repair needed..VERY DISAPPOINTED…

I bought ticket 2 day before departure and checked in online 20 hours before leaving. When I got to airport with boarding pass, was told the ticket is valid now. No any reason was provided and EVA staff at scene had being indifferent to frustration I have being got. Days later I made complaint but only got auto reply then nothing. Terrible experience and never take EVA again.…
