Nestled in the peaceful area of the Botanical gardens is our place to rest and recharge your mind and spirit. Our retreat is opposite the vast reserve surrounding you with bird song and walks into the lush New Zealand native bush. We have a secluded courtyard to sit and contemplate whilst having a glass of wine and reading magazines from our selection.
Enjoy an easy bike to town or "The Lions Walk" on the lakefront on our electric bikes, a super way to see the sights and come home smiling.

The space
The room has a Super-king bed which can be divided into two singles for a min two night stay, tv, sounds system and magazines/books for your enjoyment. The kitchenette has a fridge, sink, and microwave,air fryer, cutlery, and plates, and glasses. Please note there is no oven but you have use of an outdoor BBQ in Summer.
There are a private bathroom and separate toilet within the studio.
We provide a continental breakfast including coffee, teas, bread, spread, and cereal.
The garden is a food forest so natural, wild ecosystem thriving with life.
We have two electric bikes available to use that will take you up the hill from the lake with ease and make for a peaceful meander around the Botanical garden or around the varying paths all along the lake. Check out #kowhaistudiotaupo. Lots of photos from our local adventures.

Guest access
Settle down in your private courtyard outside the studio, home to thriving plants and looking out at the recently finished Food Forest. Spend time relaxing in the evening sunsets on our comfortable outdoor furniture and cooking a BBQ in the Summer.
Your studio is down a driveway, well away from the road, and has generous parking for two cars.

This is a no-smoking house. We follow strict cleaning procedures as recommended and take our guests' safety seriously.
