We want to rent a car for 2 days to go to Shirakawa/Gokayama area from Kanazawa.
Any suggestions for scenic areas near Kanazawa or Shirakawa? Not interested in Takayama.

From Kanazawa, an easy day trip by car would be the Noto Peninsula in the NE though due to the recent earthquake rural roads might be damaged/closed in that area.
Thus, head SW to Tojinbo in neighbouring Fukui Prefecture.
