Neighborhood: Bondi Beach
An iconic Australian suburb, Bondi Beach is famous for its fantastic beaches and views. Once the domain of backpackers, hundreds of tourists from all over the world descend en masse to Bondi in December ready to enjoy the "Aussie summer". Bondi Beach boasts impressive ocean views all along the many restaurants and bars on Campbell Parade. Wake up early and take a dip in the surf before walking the scenic stretch from Bondi to Coogee Beach. Stroll through the Saturday organic markets in North Bondi or grab some fish and chips and relax in the grassy area opposite the beach. For more upscale cuisine, head down to Hall Street where a range of new eateries have recently opened. Just make sure to save enough energy for the buzzing nightlife Bondi Beach has to offer.

I've been a huge fan of the TV sho 'Bondi Rescue' for years & always wanted to visit the famous Bondi Beach. I couldn't believe how magical it is in real life. It was even more enjoyable as we visited on a weekday & there were very few people on the beach. I was able to get photos of some of the most famous scenes from the show, but I wasn't able to get a photo with one of the lifeguards. I will definately be coming back, hopefully when its a little warmer so I can swim in the ocean & possibly dine at Icebergs restaurant.

Well worth going to say been there done that.
Visited on Thursday 25th May. I spent a couple hours wondering around checking out Bondi Beach, the cliff walks, the pavilion and the main street. Well worth going to say been there done that.

Family trip 4 days in Bondi
The waverley walk is amazing and very well worth while. I would stay at Bondi Hotel if you can. The cocktails are $14 about £7 and it is open mon-sat till 12 and till late. Closed early on a Sunday. Other bars are open but can be expensive as shots can be $30 each. The staff at bondi hotel are amazing and just across the road from the beach. The Pavillion restaurant breakfast from 930-11am is amazing. The bacon and eggs on toast are fab, as is the yogurt granola (incs liquorice and surprising great). Breakfast including, coffee 2 drinks, 1 granola bowl and 2 bacon eggs toast about £35. This is a contract to 2018 when would have been double even though the exchange rate is about the same 1.8 to pound in 2018 and 1.9 in Nov 23. We went to Coggee Bay in 2018 and that was fab too but prefer Bondi Beach as a little more going on and access to other places is great. Tip - get the 303 bus into Sydney for $20 from the shop. We had 4 trips into Sydney off peak and a trip on the ferry from Sydney to Darling Harbour and back. A bargain for £10. A must. the supermarkets are so much cheaper than 2018, a great surprise. However, if you smoke they are $65 for 25...yes £33. My one son smoked so a bit of a shock, but I agree keep them expensive to discourage smoking. Their local chemists are really cheap so no need to pack suncream (a bucket of factor 50 is £7.....to encourage you to use it, great idea), shampoo etc. Really loved Bondi Beach, so clean and beautiful.

Bondi fever - Bondi draws the crowds
Took the train and bus to Bondi - head for the beach at Bondi, when we visit Sydney. Beach, glistening ocean still draws the crowds, the life-saver statue is a reminder, though, of caution. The Bondi Pavilion has been updated and has undergone an amazing transformation. Not been to Sydney in a long time, we'll come again soon. (I have gait/walking challenges (stroke), wear a legbrace.)

Check out the icebergs if you want safe swimming
We took a look at the beach and decided to go to the icebergs instead and then do the coastal walk. Well worth walking along to get to the free pools though rather than paying for the icebergs. The beach was too busy for us but the waves and surf looked good but it wasn’t as spectacular as we were made to believe.

    Great!
The photo here is of Tamarama Beach not Bondi Beach. Bondi Beach is a kilometer long. I lived here a long time ago and it has not changed, it is brilliant! If you're in Sydney, you must make the effort to walk on the beach.

Lovely beach with entry level surfing
lovely beach though smaller than some pictures portray! Not too many places for such other than the Promede which is excellent and highly recommend. Though I'd been to Sydney 4-5 times previously had never gone since logistics to get there seemed complicated. They're not. Jump on a 333 bus and you're there in 30 minutes. Won't be disappointed!

Beautiful views of Bondi Beach from the Coastal Walk
We took a walk at Bondi Beach along the Coastal Walk on a Sunday morning. The weather was sunny and unseasonably warm for July. There were tons of people around the area just enjoying the beautiful views of the beach. The Coastal Walk was well paved and is very dog friendly but I would say that it is not an easy low key stroll since there were some sections where there are some stairs to climb. There was a section along the side of the path that was set up like a small dog park with a water fountain for dogs. After our walk, we took a stroll around the nearby shops and restaurants. It was such a pleasant day and I would go back to Bondi Beach if we ever visit Sydney again.

Beach looked nice, but it was a cold and very windy day, so not much action that day
As part of a tour of Sydney, we stopped at Bondi Beach for 30 minute stop. Unfortunately, the day was a little chilly and very windy, so it was not very enjoyable as the wind was blowing sand in your face and eyes. Our tour guide assured us this was a very enjoyable beach on most other days with the weather is cooperative.

We walked to bondi beach from potts point. Great walk and bondi was nice. Good restaurants and good changing/shower/beach facilities. We hired an umbrella and 2 x loungers for $35 for 4 hours which was a lot but worth it. Was expecting a more picturesque beach but it was pretty standard. It was a nice day but wouldn't rush back.

Bondi is the iconic Sydney beach, and it’s a lot of fun. The retaining walls have wonderfully colorful art painted by local artists, there are plenty of concessions, showers, and changing rooms, it’s easily reached by public transportation, and you can surf, swim, sunbathe, or sit in the shade of a rental umbrella as you like. And, if you like crowds of nearly naked folks sitting, surfing and sunbathing within inches of you, it’s the place to go. I prefer secluded, pristine beaches, so Bondi’s charms were limited for me. It’s a scene, fun to watch, not a place I’d want to stay.

The sand was beautiful, white, soft and nice to walk on, the sea was warm very salty though! There were sun loungers and deck chairs to hire for $10 for 3 hours, worth getting though. Little shops dotted around, showers and toilet facilities. The beach is good for water sports. Nothing too special but is a nice beach

Sydney is surrounded by beaches but Bondi is the main one and located in the city. This beach is paradise for surfers & they create a magnificent view on the sea. The beach is really vast & Bondi to Coogee coastal walk is really sprawling & scenic. One can spend a whole day in the beach. People are always busy with different activities like volleyball, surfing n all. Not only human even dogs also come for a coastal walk.People do picnic at the beach side & it's really well connected with the other sides of the city.

Pretty cool beach! There’s a cool graffiti wall and the beach is clean. I went when it was still chilly (I went last May) so we didn’t go in the water, although that didn’t stop the locals. I would definitely recommend going and walking around even if it’s too cold to swim. It’s a short drive away from downtown Sydney.

Bondi beach with its vast stretch of beach and families, nippers, and surfers are amazingly beautiful.

There’s real difference between north and south shore of beach. At present one side sits iconic restaurants and cafes, others have North Bondi surf club.

An easy way to spend time together, bring your chair, beach towel, and please watch out surfers and stingrays, or else Bondi patrol will come to rescue.

A breathtaking and beautiful place, Bondi Beach.

Visited here recently on a visit from ireland. I've always watched Bondi rescue and was dying to get to bondi beach. When I got there I was kinda shocked at how small it is in real life. Lol the t.v show kinda makes it seem alot bigger.

Anyways it was a nice beach. The waves and currents are very strong. It's a nice beach to sun bathe but a bit too strong for me to swim in lol. I was in for about 10 minutes and I had enough of being bashed by the waves. You do need to be a strong swimmer to take on Bondi.
It's a nice beach just to chill and people watch.

So the beach itself is great, lots of space even on a hot summer day. When we were there, the part of the beach closest to the ocean was obviously the most packed however the back half of the beach still had plenty of real estate to go around (and we were there on a summer Saturday). Lots of kids but can easily be avoided due to the ample space.

If you intend to take public transit, do yourself a favor and begin at locations where most don’t or you’ll be standing for a 20-40 minute ride depending on where you get on. To ensure you get a seat going there, get on the bus at circular quay. Coming back, walk to the far north end of the beach first, and then get on the bus. Going there, if you take the train and then get on the bus at Bondi junction, it’s standing room only. Similarly going back, if you get on the bus at the south end of the beach, all the seats will already be taken.

An option if you don’t want to sit on the actual beach is the iceberg pool located on the southernmost end of the beach.

We had to go to Bondi you couldn't come to Sydney and not visit Bondi. The sand was beautiful, the sea more suited for surfing than swimming but the lifeguards were definitely on the ball at all times keeping you fully informed as to safe swimming areas etc. We spent a lovely day there soaking up the sun, beach beds umbrellas etc in abundance - cost for three beds and one umbrella for 65 dollars (approx £30). Lovely restaurants and a good amount of shops. All in all a lovely day.

We stopped here for a quick visit with our tour group. The beach is very nice and was empty when we visited, which was during the week. Another couple on our tour stopped at the beach a couple weeks prior when the weather was extremely hot and they mentioned that there were so many people that you could not even see the sand. Our tour guide also provided information regarding the Bondi Beach Lifesaving Program, which we found very interesting.
