【英文謬誤】at the hospital是「在住院」，還是「在醫院」？

at和in這兩個介系詞都叫做「在」，不過在某些情境卻又表達了不同的意思。

例如朋友打給你，你人正好在醫院探病，你如果說：I’m in the hospital. 那對方會以為你生病了，正在住院、接受治療中，因為in the hospital 表示人真的在裡面，意味著身體不適，正在醫院接受治療或住院，動作的意義大於地點；at the hospital 強調地點，表示你只是在醫院工作、到醫院探病，這時候地點的意義就大於動作。

in強調動作（真的在裡面）

My dad is in the hospital. （我爸爸生病了，在住院、看病）

at強調地點

My dad is at the hospital. （我爸爸沒有生病，只是人在醫院探病、工作）

同樣的概念再多看幾個：

探監 vs 服刑

in jail 服刑（習慣用法不加the）
at the jail 探監（或在監獄工作）
We visited Josh at the jail every Saturday. （我們每個禮拜六都去探Josh的監。）

在學校工作 vs 在學中

in school 在學中
at school 在學校工作、教書
in school 指在學習中，無論是不是真的在教室裡
My husband is in school. （我先生在學中。）

在家 vs 在家裡面（建築物內）

in home 在家裡面（inside the house）
at home 廣義的在家（可能在自家車庫、後院，不一定在房屋裡面）

I left my keys at home. （我把鑰匙忘在家了。）
We are in the home of Angelina Jolie! （我們現在在安潔莉娜・裘莉的家裡面！）

My dad is in the hospital. （我爸爸生病了，在住院、看病）
