The walking street was decorated with red lanterns and it gives me kind of festival feel even it’s not in festival season:) The street is clean and crowded as usual even during the Covid time. Surprised that currently there are some guys walking on this street who wear red vests become voluntary tour guides. And you can ask him or her to share with you the story/history of this walking street. It’s quite interesting!

It was one of the well known shopping districts in GZ. Love to be there and hang around even without buying a thing. I liked walking so this is a perfect place for walking and spend the time off having fun. Many of the shops were rather old but well maintained. The were many wholesale stores around and the were selling the goods in bulk.

This is a must visit place in Guangzhou as it offers so many things to see, shop and eat all day long. There are so many shops offering a wide range of merchandise and products that surely there be something to suit you and family. Besides these, there are also lots of major shopping malls, supermarkets, eateries and restaurants to tie you down! There are so many vibes and vibrancy here and no surprise why there are crowds of people all day long!

One can simply half or a full day here to shop until you drop, eat and shop again.

Of course if you are into culture or religious, there's a huge buddhist temple here (I will review this place separately later).

Recommended.

This is a very popular shopping street with lots of good restaurants. If you are in Guangzhou and have a night to spare it is worth checking out but I would avoid if you don't like crowds.

The area around Beijing Lu is home to lots of markets that sell all kinds of items like neon signs, shoes and lots of underwear.

Popular for local people with a few foreign visitors. All popular Chinese brand stores located on this stretch. Extremely crowded on weekends. Nice places to eat. Special mention for the Tiger Prawn restaurant which serves superb Asian cuisine.

This an almost must do if you are visiting Guangzhou. High density of shops (clothing and trinkets) along a pedestrian only street. At night, the street is lit with colorful lights. Many food vendors to keep you fueled. Even if you are not a big shopping person, it's a great chance to immerse yourself in the local culture and do some people watching!

My wife and I visited ShangXiaJiu and Beijing Road in Guangzhou two weeks ago. We had visited these two places a few years ago. Comparing the two shopping districts, I think Beijing Road today has lost some of its lustre to ShangXiaJiu.

I enjoy walking in the Beijing Road Shopping District. I bought my usual large cup of honeyed popcorn, and bought some Christmas stocking-stuffer gifts. Lots of sales along Beijing Lu.

On my many trips to Guangzhou, I almost always go for a walk on Beijing Lu. There is always something new and interesting to see. This time, a number of booths were put up on the street for an upcoming national holiday celebration. I bought some Chinese teas to give as gifts.
